Never go there on a Sunday afternoon!…read more I usually fill 8 bags on a Sunday at a rival store. This Sunday I filled 2 of the absolute essentials I could get and will shop at the rival tomorrow for the other 6 or more. I doubt with this management whether any other days are better. The shelves were either empty or nearly empty. Good priced white peaches:- two mangy ones left and anyway they only had room for one box. Bananas were all over-ripe. Various egg varieties out of stock. Deli looked good and well-stocked. Frozen chips - two packs of McCains left. Car parking was pretty easy but I think that was because at 4:00 PM most of the vultures had left. Even overcharged at the checkout for two items when I only had one. I couldn't be bothered to complain as there was a queue at that desk. The manager of that store clearly doesn't give (...) for customers who (s)he believes should be serviced in the old rural sense of the word. Sorry Yelp but why don't you allow a zero star rating?

Disgusting. They sell items beyond food, but have the arrogance to say no refund, go spend your money in the store only. As if we don't spend enough and regularly. It might make your bottom line look better in the short term, but in the long term having such atrocious disrespectful customer service to regular customers, will see this company go down hill in the future. They think they are being smart, but they are actually creating long term business suicide. I know every company will take my money, but I watch to see if I return something how they treat me. Woolworths, you have a bad egg at the top of your food chain, with ZERO knowledge of customer service!!

This instance is located in the Broadway Sydney shopping mall, and provides all the necessary produce and food items. It's always fun to wander around and look at items that might not exist in the states, but also admit that there are international items that you would not find in a standard US grocery store, but here would exist because of the large Far East Asian population. Some examples were Buldak hot chicken flavor ramen, salmanco frozen desserts. Also found frozen pelmeni (Russian dumplings), Went to the pet supply area, and saw a variety of dog treats, including one probably found only in Australia: Kangaroo tail disks. Supposedly, they are sourced from wild kangaroos that are culled to maintain their population.

Shop assistants are generally very helpful.

They make the friendly talkative IGA worker on the TV ads look cold and shut-off. These guys understand the community spirit of Annandale and deliver outstanding service accordingly. The people of Annandale have petitioned thus far successfully against the construction of a supermarket super-centre in the area. Annandale is at heart a village and is a village with heart, and the people aren't willing to give that up. They shop locally, even if their IGA can't always compete with the big guns' discounts. Annandale IGA have their own bakery, a good range of fruit and veg, yoghurts, cheeses and your usual packaged supermarket goods. Yes, polio! Far from simply selling fine fruit, these guys do tonnes more: natural, yoghurts, fresh cereals, my favourite garlic dipping sauce and, bizarrely, Bart Simpson shaped pasta. And tonnes more, I really can't do justice to how cathartic, exciting and welcoming it is cruising around this store with the promise of an empty shopping basket and the whole world at your feet.
