(Sicily, March 2025, dinner). This restaurant was recommended to us by our B&B host. It is in the old center, in the side street to the right from the famous 142-steps staircase.
It is open for dinner only, reservations are recommended for the weekend nights. Google maps states 18:30 as their opening hour. In fact, they open at 19:30. Extensive pasta menu but we couldn't even think of more pasta after three weeks of traveling throughout Sicily. So we went for a lentil soup ( more like a stew) and a baked eggplant parmigiana to start with. Both were excellent, the best we have had in years. The portions were very large, especially the eggplant. We should have ordered just one to share as we were full after the appetizers. The veal for the main course was to die for, excellent cut of meat, perfectly cooked ( I ordered medium rare). There are choices for the side, I went with the house special potatoes that were thickly cut French fries type , crispy outside and soft inside. So tasty!!! My partner tried baked fish ( in tomato sauce and olives), it was also very good. And of course, the Sicilian red wine! It was the best meal both of us had in a very long time! The only problem is that there was absolutely no room left to try the deserts! We liked the dinner so much that we made a reservation for the following evening right there. read more
