I have to make a point of shutting down the other review, which frankly, isn't a review at all. On that note... I came here with my boyfriend and his best friend on a Friday night in July. No line at the front but they did check ID. It's not a huge place and its not super fancy. Frankly, I have yet to hear of a strip club that would be considered fancy. Our friend is the DJ here, so that added a fun element to the night. We beelined to the bar first thing and got a drink - I'm not a beer drinker so I had vodka-crans all night and they definitely did not skimp on the alcohol in my drinks. I couldn't tell you how much a round (two beers and a vodka cran) was because I didn't pay for anything but I think with tip, it was probably about $20 a round. It was fairly busy and got progressively busier as the hours passed. Since it was a Friday, the clientele was fairly broad, including a lot of younger folks like us and some older folks too. A decent amount of girl spectators in the place, like myself, which was nice to see. We stayed til close and it was quite busy,even then. We sat in pervs row for the entire night - the stage isn't huge but it does the job with two poles. It's more of a wide rectangle, so sitting on the side was the short edge. Not a catwalk style stage as I've seen before. The girls didn't have much room to strut around, but this just meant more pole work in the end, which is fine by me. They had quite a variety of girls on, which was nice to see. There were, of course, a few girls who weren't in as good shape, but they were clearly liked by the crowd. Another nice thing, on the side where we sat, closest to the door, they had an area for "semi private" dances (if you can call it that) with a mirror so everyone else could kind of watch. Definitely liked that; when girls were changing off on the stage, you could simply turn your head to the left and get a bit of a peep show. The womens bathroom was clean, although I wish they would replace the hand towel thing with actual disposable towels (I wiped my hands on my pants). The guys said there was some dude in their bathrom (I'm assuming to make sure theres no funny business? ) but no one in my bathroom. One of the bouncers heard me asking where the womens was and he immediately took me to it - very nice. It was unfortunate that some of the girls didn't wander more, although they may have been busy in the back. The one girl we liked and wanted a dance from never came back after she got off stage. We chatted her up a bit but she never came back to our side of the bar. Perhaps we'll sit on the other side next time and see if its any different. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to come back to the Royal again. I had a great night with my friends, the dancers were good (one was INCREDIBLE on the pole) and the drinks were well poured. I didn't feel uncomfortable here, like my last experience at the rippers, so I'll be back for sure. I'd rate this place a solid 3.5, but bumped it to a four since I had such a good time. You have to give everybody has to give the bar $20 for a one time thing. They get $20 there. Then you go, then. You go to the vrp room and the and the and you pay the. Let's say you pay the dancer for one dance and you pay $20, but actually for that one dance, you're actually paid $53. Because you paid 20 for the dancer 20 to the bar and 13 cover charge. And this is against the law and I use my credit card as a cash advance for me from their bar. I asked for a $150 and they charge me 30% plus a $10, a $10 service fee free. For me using the service of them giving me money from my credit card so if it was me. I should make a Google review and have that place close down because of the owner. The owner's gotta get out of there. He doesn't care about the women or his workers. He doesn't care. He only cares about himself and making money, and he says he He says, if if there's not much business during the day, he'll leave it closed all day and open it at 9 o'clock at night. So the women that used to work full-time are losing lots of money. This guy has to get to go, he's gotta someone else has to bite that place and put it the way it was. It used to be the king. We further escalated to the manager due to the dishonesty. 3)The General Manager (Derrick) was completely rude to my friend and I. He continuously threatened to call police without proper understanding of the situation. He showed zero empathy, no remorse, not even an apology. Conclusion: My friend and I were forced to pay $100 for a lap dance instead of our budget for $40. Beware of this place, you have been warned. There are several hidden fees. The dancers were aggressive and not like they used to be. Overall, it felt like most of the staff didn't want to be there. The only person who seemed genuinely nice was the doorman upstairs. We tried one of the VIP rooms, but the staff handling the payments seemed unsure about pricing and were more rude than helpful, which threw off the vibe completely. The dancers we had were okay, but it felt like luck more than anything. Some of the dancers mentioned another club called FYE, so we decided to go there after since they serve alcohol until 4am. It has happened to me 3 times so far and I noticed the "friend" is always watching close by (in my experience at the main bar and or at a round table close) Then they want you to do everything in doubles, including drinks, dances, etc. I noticed they have someone to agree with the miscount of songs or stories one may tell no, so watch out. 2) Any "extra" service on premises is no longer a thing. Around St. Patrick's Day of 2023, I found out management had a "talk" with the dancers and said if they found out dancers were offering any services (FS, HD, BJ, or anything) on their property they would get fired. They busted a customer and a dancer in FS, the customer was banned and the dancer was fired on the spot, also a herd of one dancer getting busted for having the customer expose himself, the customer was ejected, dancer kept her job. Now they push services to happen at the local hotels and are WAY more. One girl offered me FS with her partner, but for $500 EACH... big ripoff, if get down like that you can go to a local spa not far and get a BJ and FS for $160 Canadian... I heard :-) 3) When the ATMs are down or if you have a larger bill for dances the girls will push you to get a cash advance at the bar. Not entirely bad but the catch is the bar charges a 10% fee. My "bill" was a few hundred for dances (got scammed by a miscount but didn't freak out, I just got a big pay bonus), and they charged me the 10%. Again, not bad, and the bartender does tell you about the fee and will ask you to confirm the amount, but I call this out because if you get getting anything under$160 the ATM is cheaper normally. My ATM gives me back service fees, but not on a cash advance, so I was out the 10%. 4) You might not have noticed, but the main big bar drinks go up after 7:00 or so (at least on the weekends they do). A Corona goes up from $6.50 to about $10, and shots go up also (BTW the machine for shots pours very light, definitely not 1oz). The way around this is before 7:00 order 2-3 bears and keep them at your table, if you are getting shots get them at the sidebars next to the private dance room, they are cheaper and get poured heavy. Hope this help, keep your eye on your money and the dancers, and don't get ripped off.
