There's no cell service either. At the end of the road, there's a parking lot with a small visitor center containing a gift shop and exhibits. A short paved walk outside leads to a covered quarry where fossils are being excavated. There are a few hikes to do here. There were plenty of white-tailed antelope squirrels running round to watch, cute! In all, I would say this is worth the drive if you're a huge fossil or dinosaur nerd.

Stopped here on our way from our home in Idaho to see our son and his fiancée in Durango, CO. It is…read morelocated just off the 6 directly on our route, so very convenient. It is a two story building with no elevator, which I was aware of. Still, this 68-year-old man dragging two suitcases and a cooler up the stairs gave me some exercise, though we chose the second floor. Adequate free parking. There is an indoor pool to the right as you enter the hotel, with the front desk to the left. There is a "sports bar"(more on that later) and a "steakhouse" on the premises. A very nice young woman checked us in, though it took longer than usual, I think due to their slow computer system. At any rate, I had to run to the bathroom and leave the final steps to my wife. The room was clean, which was most important. Beds weren't very comfortable, but they provide plenty of pillows. Bathroom and shower were small. Shower pressure was so-so. Bathroom fan was great. AC worked fine. Mini fridge and blow dryer provided. There were a lot of families attending sporting events also staying at the hotel. A lot of the kids were roaming free and making noise. We were concerned. However, we were not disturbed at night. We did go to the sports bar for dinner. This was a fairly small room with a bar and stools, some high tables, a few pool tables, and two or three TVs. They had few beers on tap, it appeared mostly domestic, but the very nice young female bartender offered a nice IPA in a can. Hotel guests get $5 off the burgers, which are hand-pressed and very good, and it comes with a side, for a total of $11. The fries and sweet potato fries were average, kind of soggy, and I like them crispy. The food all comes from the "steakhouse" next door, which doubles as the location of the complimentary breakfast, which is the usual scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juices, and some other choices. Not bad. All in all, this hotel fulfilled our need for a stopover on our way to see our son. At $200 a night, just an OK value.

Found out we couldn't check in because computer system was down. About 30 min sitting in the lobby, we were told ok to check in. When we started checking in we were told that they didn't have any pet rooms so I couldn't stay there with a pet. I said the reservation has already been paid and has been paid as a pet room since it required extra on the website. They said they couldn't do anything. I stood there until something was done. The manager did NOT seem to care but they "agreed" to put us up in a 2nd level room (of note, no elevators here either). I don't know why they said there were no pet rooms and then all of the sudden did. I mean...maybe it's because it looked like this (see pics) and no one had cleaned it? Anyway stay away from this place.

Definitely worth the minimal admission price! The staff were super friendly too. We only had about an hour to spend here because of time constraints but we definitely could have been here longer. They seemed to be working on renovations so I can only imagine it'll get even better after that! Also a cool fact is most of the fossils they have in their collection were found locally. In addition to the dinosaur portion they have another portion with American history which was also very interesting!

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!! VERY SHADY, UNPROFESSIONAL AND POSSIBLY ILLEGAL BUSINESS…read morePRACTICES. On April 2nd of 2020 I took my plane to Redtail Air in Moab, UT to have repairs done. I spoke with mechanic Bob Stone who assured me that he would be able to fix the airplane and would start on it in a couple of weeks and it would be done around the first of May. I received a quote on April 6th, and sent a deposit on April 7th. Bob said it would be used to purchase parts and the remainder would be applied to labor. I checked in with Bob on a weekly basis about the status of the repairs, and each week he reported that he hadn't been able to start but he would get to it in a few days. This went on until May 7th when I told Bob I would find another mechanic. I asked for a receipt for the parts, the rest of my deposit back, and to put the parts I purchased in the plane. Bob responded that "the deposit just covered the parts". I found a hangar space on May 11th and let Bob know that I was sending someone to get the plane, logs, and parts AND ASKED HIM AGAIN FOR A RECEIPT FOR THE PARTS. When the plane was picked up on May 12th the plane was UNLOCKED outside with the keys, parts, and the logbook inside AND NO RECEIPT. I emailed Redtail Air (kcny@redtailfbo.com and kpuc@redtailfbo.com) on May 31st 2020 and still have not gotten a response from them. This is absolutely unacceptable, and possibly illegal, for a company to refuse to provide a receipt for goods and/or services provided to a customer. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and am waiting to hear back from them, and I will be checking into possible violations of the Utah Consumer Sales Practices Act.

Our suite was lovely! We had a one-bedroom suite, and I was quite pleased. It had clearly been…read morerenovated recently. The furniture appeared to be fairly new (perhaps brand new). The kitchenette looked brand new. The building was recently painted. The man who checked us in was very pleasant. Don't be put off by your first impression of the property! It's a motel (I apparently have a thing against motels) and the office was simple and unfinished. Those things made me nervous about the condition of the rooms. However, once we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised, and very happy that we had chosen Red Rock! My only complaint is that some spots in the living area were poorly lit. Reliable internet. Details of the space: The space consisted of 2 rooms with a doorway between (no actual door, but the door is toward the back of the living space, so the rooms felt separate). The first room consisted of a sofa, comfy chair, console, small dining table, TV, and kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge (about 4' tall, with separated fridge and freezer doors), sink, counter space, and a few dishes). There's also a bathroom in the back. The bedroom had a bed (mattress somewhere between firm and soft), a desk, a TV, and a second bathroom in back. Summary: Lovely recently-renovated rooms. Would definitely stay again.
