What a great RV PARK! Everything was so clean and very well organized. When you depart the town of Helper, you get to see downtown. This is the cutest little old west downtown that we have seen. The city is quaint and right off highway six easy access to get back on your route either direction. We will stay at that RV park again as we travel from Washington to Colorado. read more

This RV park is beautiful! You can tell the owners have really taken the time to upgrade and make it very nice....lots of trees and landscaping, picnic tables, benches on the river, nice clean and large bathrooms! This was a very nice surprise for a one night stay. The back in River spots are nice, and very wide. My only suggestion is to have some type of gate at the front to make it feel safer. We came in an off time and there were very few campers, making it feel slightly isolated. read more

This was night two of our cross country trip. A friend recommended this place after his cross country trip. We arrived during a rainstorm, the check in process was way and the general store looked like it had lots of stuff for everyone. One of the team took his golf cart in the rain and helped us to our site. He turned on the breaker and assisted us backing into our site. They also give you a nice packet with a map and things to do around town. We camped along the river and the noise drowned out the highway on the other side. The site was nice and had everything we needed, the occasional train would roll by and the kids loved it. The campground has bathrooms, showers, a playground, river walk and several dog walking areas. The surrounds mountains are beautiful and really make the place look great. A great place to stay if you're here for a night or longer. read more

We stayed here Sunday 11/16. Got here about 4:30 p.m. We did a self check in. This is a great facility. Among the best restrooms we ever seen in an RV park. Flat with a little noise from the highway and some train traffic but not too severe. We paid $30 for a tent site as we don't need much. Highly recommend. read more

This is one of the nicest campgrounds I've stayed at! You can tell that this is a labor of love by the folks who own and operate it, and everyone who visits will know what I mean after one stay. The campground is new and still not a lot of people know about it yet. It's laid out in such a way that there is space for every type of camper. There are over a hundred RV sites-many of them pull throughs and with full hook ups. When you arrive, a staff member escorts you to your site, so there's no getting lost. He stayed to make sure we had all we needed, and then left us alone to get set up. The ground was level, well manicured and the picnic table was in excellent condition. As the trees grow larger, the shade will be very nice. If you're not pulling a trailer or driving an RV, there are also a few tent sites throughout the park. You'll also notice some little cabins that you can rent too. Each space has ample parking and plenty of room between you an your neighbor. I didn't feel crowded at all. Campground bathrooms can either make or break a place-these ones MAKE it! There are several gender neutral bathrooms-each with their own private shower. They were cleaner than my shower at home! Above each door just outside the room is a light that shines red or green, so no wondering if it's vacant or not. There is a large group pavilion that guests can use, first come, first served. It's got plenty of tables and a large outdoor sink for cleaning your dishes. Onsite, there is also a nice playground and a fun splash pad for the kids. Not far from that is a small dog run for your dogs to run free. The main store has a few convenience items as well as a nice laundry area. My interactions with the staff were all very positive. People were friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. The entire vibe of the campground was inviting; so much so that our large group booked reservations for several sites at the end of the month. Who knew that little Helper, Utah would become our vacation destination?! But we can't wait to come back. read more

We arrived around 4pm yesterday, and after a quick check in, we were escorted to our site by the host in a golf cart. He helped my husband park the trailer (so grateful for that, not my specialty). It was raining when we arrived, so it was a little bit if a muddy setup. Our site is right on the river. I took the kids exploring to the playground and splash pad once it stopped raining. They enjoyed the playground but we skipped on the splash pad as it was a little chilly. We used the provided map & guide to pick out a place for dinner. After dinner, the kids played at the park some more before showers and bed. The bathrooms and showers are great - they are clean and smell fresh, and spacious enough to get all the kids handled at once. After bathing the children, I sent them to bed and got a shower in for myself - A+ for hot water and water pressure. Also, there are plugs in there making it convenient to dry my hair there rather than waking the kids up with my hair dryer in the camper. Overnight, the sound of the roaring river was lovely and mostly drowns out thee highway noise. The whole family slept well, and we're off on another day if adventure. read more

Our 3rd stay here. The camp retains it's new RV Camp appeal. Spotless restrooms & showers, large, plus red/green occupancy lights outside. ...real TP! If you've been to a KOA restroom you will know what I mean. Extra long & wide level sites, Gravel. Shade trees are maturing, another couple years sites will be shady. Each site with planted landscaping. Some have small grassy areas. 50/30A full hookups. 100psi water, use a pressure regulator! Sewer connections are lower than my RV drain. Great!!!! Strong wifi at my site. Great spots for kids with water jets, new swings, colored chalk to decorate the sidewalk. Competitive rates with SAMS, veteran and other discounts. Under new ownership since last visit. US 6 about 1/4 mile away. The old RR switching yard is about 100 yds from the campground & trains do pass at regular intervals. The Salt Lake City Amtrack as well. Might be a problem for lite sleepers. The trains move through the yard at a slow speed, not at full power. Great stuff to watch prime movers at power. The yard comprises at least a dozen sidings & spurs, a turn around loop & what looks to be a Y. Saw only one fenced dog run. It's tiny tho my dogs figured it out 1st visit. Adjacent perimeter can also be used. Leash & "baggies" required. Helper is an old brick & mortar RR town complete with original historic signage on many buildings. Several restaurants. Main st is a nostalgic look back from 80 years ago. Back in the day steam locomotives teamed up to move heavy loads up the Castle gate canyon. ...called "Helpers". About 100 miles S of Salt Lake. 10 Miles N of the town of Price with shopping, services, Walmart. read more

My husband and I were traveling through Utah late in the evening yesterday after purchasing a new fifth wheel from a local dealer. We needed a place to stay for the night and came across Castle Gate RV. After calling the main number it gave clear instructions on how to do a late check in and we were able to drive up, grab a packet/ place in the Dropbox, and get into a site for the night. The park was clean & easily maneuvered. We came while it was snowing, so I imagine it would be amazing to stay for a week or so in the summer! We stayed in one of the cabinets here for 2 nights and it can easily accommodate me my wife and 3 kids. When we were here the weather was 20 degrees but the heater was perfect to keep us warm at 78 degrees The cabin was fully equipped with everything one needs ig coffee, comfortable bed, microwave, stove, fully bath and so much more My kids had never experienced snow and this was a perfect place for to come for a new days and unplug from the grind of life Helper is beautiful and amazing. We camped at Castle Gate RV Park and Campground in our motor home in June 2021. What a surprise in Helper Utah! This park is so beautiful and picturesque. The owners keep the park neat and clean with long level sites big enough for large rigs and toads. The staff showed us to our site and were Friendly and constantly cleaning.We didn't have to unhook and could enjoy the site with fire ring and a very nice picnic table facing the mountains and river just across the road. Quiet dark sky nights where we could enjoy the star filled sky. This park was big with many amenities including a big office, store, laundry, really clean restrooms, playground with water splash area for kids. Horseshoes, corn hole games were also available. They also had a small dog run for your four legged friends. Although a little small for larger breeds, the park itself was surrounded by grassy areas. The town of Helper was mere minutes away. Railway with trains (noise, not a problem), Grocery store, library, museums, art stores, river walk and restaurants were easily accessible. We will make this park part of our RV must do! read more

Nice RV campground south of Helper Utah on US 6, off the main highway. Privately owned and managed I think. Level pull through's. All gravel. Spaces appear to use a recycled crushed asphalt material that seems to hold up as well as fresh laid asphalt. ....water permeable but hard. 50 Amp service. Adjacent to the UP RR station, Helper Utah. UP, GNSF and Amtrac trains pass by between Salt Lake City and ?? Denver?? Train noise was not a problem. Camp is immaculate. Young trees planted but no real shade yet. Restrooms are large, each is a separate room with outside locking door. Green or red "Occupancy" lights above each , very clean in new condition. I'm told lightening fast internet. Didn't bring my laptop to see. Small water splash park for the kids. The pet area was a bit small but Dotti & Winnie did not complain. Nearby town of Helper is right out of the 40's. Several restaurants. Best of all: half the price of a KOA and much nicer. read more

If your travels take you to or from Provo UT, take the Hwy 6 for a great option to the 15. There are some cute and historic towns along the 6, Price and Helper are charming. We stayed at Castle Gate RV Park 435-472-2267 in Helper UT. We were so happy with this year old park. They don't have a lot of shade since the trees are so new, but there's a great breeze that blows down the canyon. There is a train track east of the park but didn't bother us and no horns. Trains were in frequent. Highway noise extremely minimal. The staff is wonderful, park is clean (every bench in the park was spotless). They have back in river spots, which are nice. This is a brand new park in the city of Helper, Utah. They have large, free, family-sized showers/bathrooms. There are 6 cabins for rent, and they even have tent sites! Castle Gate RV Park also has a general store and a propane filling station. This quaint city is fast becoming an artist's showplace as there are several galleries in town showcasing stunning art. There is also a railroad and coal mining museum, and a motorcycle museum in Helper. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in and around Helper. read more

Unlevel sites and overpriced. Was charged an additional $8 when I requested an adjacent site. The Campground was only about 10 percent filled. Worst experience in over 60 years of camping. Find another place to support. 24 foot RV, $62. The entire Campground is either pea gravel or crushed asphalt. Most every site requires leveling. The town is called Helper but this spot was not helpful. read more

Clean, Quiet, Friendly, Good WiFi, Good water pressure. Even though this park is better the highway and a rail yard it is amazingly quiet. You do hear the trains but they definitely are not loud or disruptive. Our campsite backed up to the Price River. Definitely a repeat. read more

While on our way to goblin valley we had a tire pop. We ended up having to spend the night in helper Utah and ended up pulling into Castle Gate RV park late. We looked for a map to know where to set up tents but could not find one. The next morning when we checked out we were informed, with sass that we camped in an unreserved RV spot and got charged double. In addition to the mean lady, the park is right next to train tracks and it sounded like there was an air attack all night. read more

I discovered this rv park on Facebook when my husband and I decided to stay an extra week in Utah. What a great find! It was a brand new rv park that had just opened and we loved it. Clean, large spaces and they have cabins too. The staff is exceptional and friendly. If there was anything not to our liking it was the weather, lots of rain this year. This is a great RV park that is still new and with time will only get better. I highly recommend it. The owners are really friendly and helpful and very visible in the park which is nice. THe sites are huge and clean. There is plenty of room. As the trees get bigger the park will only get better. The bathrooms and showers are super clean and large with your own room for maximum privacy. The cable and WIFI were the best have had on any trip motel or RV camping.
