A hidden little treasure in Augusta. Appears to be a family run with limited employees that worked well together. Small parking lot which was very busy. Waited for a bit before spoken to, then offered a table. The service was limited but food Authentic and so delicious. Prices most reasonable. The ambiance was festive and bright. read more

Nina's Taqueria - Torta - Mexican Near Me - Augusta, Michigan

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants for sure, Food is excellent and service is great. The atmosphere is comfortable. I forgot a great menu, prices and never forget quality and quantity. read more

There were only couple of people working but they did a great job! I was so happy to get cactus again! Yummmmmm!!! Great food and great prices!! read more

The food is great. The chips arrive warm. The Salsa is good. Fast and friendly service.

YES YES YES! You HAVE to get the super burrito especial (wet; half and half) with Al pastor. The meat was flavorful and the actual size? AMAZING! Parking is right out front and the service was super quick and easy. Very lowkey vibes for a quick work lunch or to-go dinner. Also, try the horchata and the tortilla chips. To dies for! read more

Nina's is a great little local spot for authentic Mexican. It offers an extensive menu of made-from-scratch foods with options not found in American versions of Mexican restaurants, such as cactus fillings instead of meat. I am grateful that the menu items are numbered because there is a lot here that I can't pronounce! Service is fine, prices are typical, the decor shows a lot of effort even though the building is shabby. But you don't go here for any of those things. You go here simply for the MENU. read more

I used to come here to spend $16-$18 on lunch for myself. I would get two shrimp tacos and a flour quesadilla. The shrimp tacos were the best I've had in Michigan. On Tuesday I had the shrimp tacos like I usually do. Something was wrong with the shrimp. Kinda shocked that they came out that way. I won't be going back, and think there are much better places. I was driving 30 mins too, but my last experience was too painful. Sad. read more

We picked up lunch to take to my in-laws. The food was just not good. One (not both) wet burrito had what I call liquid cheese - ya know the stuff at the ballpark on your nachos. Nothing had much flavor and all five of us were quite disappointed. read more

Wow , instant attitude when we walked in. Burritos was trash, chicken quesadilla was the smallest ever and $10. Size of a small taco. If u want trash food with a side of attitude. This is your place to go! DONT GO HERE read more

Amazing food and atmosphere. Highly recommended. Never disappointed. Great chips and salsa

First time eating here in a long time. My family and I stop by for lunch after traveling. The server was very rude and not welcoming at all. She slammed our cups on the table rolled her eyes at me when I asked to add an order of rice and beans. When the food came out she just tossed the plates on the tables as well. The food was ok, but the service was terrible! We will never be returning. read more

Awesome! Our hidden gem here in Augusta. True authentic Mexican food at its very best. read more

Excellent food, kind of a hole in the wall restaurant. The chicken mole enchiladas are excellent. Tortillas are also very good.

We snuck into Nina's before a Barn Theater show to grab a little something. The place is a bit tight on space and cleanliness leaves a little bit to be desired but the food never disappoints here or at the Battle Creek location. We just got nachos and tacos but they were yummy. Their cheese sauce is tasty and we could have put it on anything. The servcie here is always quick and smiley. I wish they had fountain drinks and a liquor license. There is something to be said for having a margherita with your Mexican food. read more

Very good food. Fresh and cooked properly, without being heavy. However, the Flan was a bit of a let down. Don't bother with it. read more

Stopped in to get their steak burrito which was pretty good. Steak had a perfect crisp and was not chewy however, I still cant get over how a burrito with no sides cost $16! They also failed to mention their beans contain lard and when I requested whole black beans instead they were out of it. read more

This is the real deal. Authentic Mexican at a nice price. The salsa and chips were excellent. I ordered the chili relleno and she had the queso flameado. Both were excellent. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend a visit. read more

Great Mexican food and good portion size. A few outside tables are available as well.

Hands down, best Mexican food in central US. Discovered very much by accident while getting gas. it's a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. Very fresh, homemade everything. Good selection.. no alcohol at this location, but the food makes up for it. Glad I stopped!!' read more

Dios mío, me encanta Ninas! I must say I've had my fair share of Mexican food, from street tacos in Mexico, to blah Qdoba, to nom nom nom BTB, to even Mom's homemade tacos (sorry Mom), but Ninas is by far el Rey de comida Mexicana, in other words, its legit. During my childhood growing up, we would often frequent this little whole in the wall gem, located only about a 10 minute drive from my parents house, and never did I realize what a fantastic little place Ninas was until I moved away from home, and could never find anything that even came close to Ninas. Many Mexican restaurants I've been to have good fajitas, but bad salsa, or great tacos, but not so great burritos, or great salsa, but awful everything else; when you come to Ninas, you don't have to make any exceptions, because everything is phenomenal. The salsa, the fajitas, the tacos, the prices, the drinks, the small place ambiance, it all goes together so well, like a well orchestrated symphony, it makes me tear up just thinking about how much I will miss it before I go home again. It makes me feel good inside knowing some lucky person will read this mediocre review, and go check it out for themself, and their smile after eating a meal will light up the world with joy and happiness. To pay me back for such enlightening foodie information, please make a small detour to Ann Arbor to drop me off some Ninas the next time you go there, muchas gracias mi amigos. read more

As good as it gets.....in the area. It's not the best Mexican Cuisine I've had but boy am I happy Nina's exists. Reason being, I work near by and the food options are nil, poor, non existent other then maybe a McDonald's or something 15 minutes+ away. So when the options are slim at my company's 'cafe', its off to Nina's we go!! Guaranteed to see others from my work there as I have each time I've dined. I've yet to try the super burrito but have had the 13, 20, and 27 along with a slew of items from the a la carte menu, all very tasty. Just make sure you ask for the homemade green jalapeno sauce, that stuff rocks. I should mention that Nina's does appear from the outside that it is a divey Mexican joint. I'm here to tell you that the inside is just as divey!! Enjoy. read more

Had cheese and onion mole enchiladas with rice & beans and a Mexican bottled Coke. First thing: they had great chips and salsa, both regular red table salsa and their hot green salsa in a plastic bottle About my entree: Was really hopeful it would have been better based on chips and salsa... But when I heard the sound of the beep that only a microwave could produce, I knew I was in trouble. My enchiladas were rubbery and the cheese was all weird, confirming my sinking feeling about the use of a microwave and my dinner. This would have easily been 4 stars if they didn't use a microwave and found another way to heat / cook / melt everything. Beans were great. PLEASE NINAS, STOP USING THE MICROWAVE. Fried ice cream was amazing night and should not be missed!!! read more

Ninas is my Go-To Mexican Restaurant. The place has had some updating in the last year and is now starting to come together. The food has always been spectacular here. I usually mix it up every time I go, but number 14 (Enchiladas) is my favorite. The Super Burritto is large enough to feed a family of 4 and cost less than $10. The bottled coke is a great compliment to any of their dishes. Service is fast and always friendly and the hot sauce selection is top notch. I would reccomend Ninas to anyone looking for excellent Mexican food at a fair price. read more

Stopped in here on the way home from camping-very delicious! The mole sauce was to die for!

Cute little spot in Augusta. They allow dogs out on the patio which is helpful. Food came out quickly. The outdoor seating can be a but noisy as it's right on the road and big trucks seem to frequent the area. read more

Love love love this place! Always kind and the best Mexican food around. I hope the Battle Creek location opens back up soon!

Best authentic Mexican in the greater Kalamazoo area. I've come to love El Gallo Blanco, but Ninas is one notch better. The dining room is small, colorful and charming. I had the super burrito (loved it) and cannot think of better metaphor to describe the size of this dish. All the ingredients are fresh and the chips and salsa are some of the best I've ever had. Felix was my server and he was great (his arms are the size of the super burrito by the way). Who would've thought that such an amazing little authentic Mexican restaurant could be found in downtown Augusta? read more

Nina's Taqueria - The legend of the Super Burrito lives... - Mexican Near Me - Augusta, Michigan

This Taqueria is in a little one light village. I highly recommend going straight to the back of the menu to the A La Carte options - Authentic Tacos - I had lengua (tongue), tripa (intestines) and pastor. The chips and salsa were really tasty - homemade for sure - the chips are really thick and the salsa has a nice spice level and a vinegar tang. I should have brought some chips home for chillaqueas. The tripa tacos were better than average. The tongue tacos were average for tongue, but if you have never had tongue, it is the BEST. Very tender and stewed with flavor. But the best by far were the pastor tacos - marinated pork!! SOOOO good and cheap to, about $2 each...and very generous taco portions. read more

Excellent service for lunch or dinner. There chips and salsa are homemade. You can get a big to go cup of salsa for just $5. Never had anything we didn't like here. Plus they have coke in a bottle as well. Brings back childhood memories. read more

Traditional in the essence that your 40 yo single next door neighbor bob makes traditional Hamburgers on his grill sunday nights. Awhile back my son sustained a serious injury at school and went to the hospital. By the time my wife, children and I left the hospital it was late and we we're exhausted, upset, and STARVING. Nothing appeared to be open, but as we drove by Nina's it appeared to be open so we pulled in. As we approached the door we noticed that they had just closed and the staff appeared to be putting the finishing touches on the daily clean up. When the staff, who were all exceptionally warm and friendly, saw us at the door they came out to tell us they had closed an hour earlier. To our amazment when they heard our story they offered to quickly open back up with a limited menu so we wouldn't go home hungry. The food was delicious. They even gave my son a special desert and a special hand made get well card. read more

I love Nina's Taqueria, it has a very family owned feel, and the food is terrific. I've never had anything there that I have enjoyed and I would highly recommend for anyone to check it out if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Same old "Mexican" food you get at most of the restaurants these days. No original flavors, true Mexican dishes. Sad when you meal comes out in less than 10 minutes after you've placed the order. read more

Good authentic mexican food. Chips and salsa are amazing. Very accommodating to vegan/dairy free diets. The restaurant itself is not very pretty but the food is consistently good. Only downfall is no beer/wine. We enjoy this place at least once a month. read more

Pretty legit Mexican food. I have only tried the tacos (pastor and steak are AMAZING) so I cannot vouch for anything else on the menu. I love their salsas and their chips are to die for. My boyfriend and I can go get tacos and leave paying like $11 total. Can't beat that! read more

For my money, Nina's puts out the best tasting, real-deal Tex-Mex in SW Lower Michigan. We first went out of our way to visit this little taqueria in 2006 on a recommendation from a friend. It's a 22-mile drive to get to Nina's from our place and I figure we have made that trip a little over 200 times since the first time. Worth every mile! Never once a bad meal. Their Enchiladas Verdes are every bit as mouthwatering as what I've had in South Texas, Arizona, or SoCal. All scratch-made. The ONLY thing lacking here is a liquor license. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

We love the chicken enchiladas #13, with the verde sauce. The staff is nice and the food is great. My husband gets the pork dish #9. The combo fajitas are amazing. Great prices. read more
