Giant chocolate violins and seashells on the walls and on the shelves, thousands of tiny mouthfuls of chocolate in so many forms and flavours, this place is as sinfully indulgent on the tongue as it is on the wallet; with chocolate going for $103 a kilogram. If you're a foodie with a sweet tooth, you'd better be well-paid or wealthy or something, because you won't be able to hold yourself back. If you have good self control, even just taking a look around it worth the visit. Staff are polite and helpful, and can advise you on 3 generations worth of Belgian chocolate knowledge. This isn't the only choclatier on darling street, so save up, join a gym, and make a day of it! Oh the wonders!

When I say this boutique is little, I mean tiny. I'm guessing most people window shop (unless they already know what they want) before entering to purchase because you couldn't really fit more than five or six people tops. Unlike most chocolate stores where they have hoards of chocolates stacked on top of each other in a seemingly endless supply, Just William Chocolates display only a handful of pieces onto a small dishes of each type of flavour. Some have two types of flavours on one dish. When you do actually go inside there's a few more choices that weren't out on the window display. If you're looking for a present and wanting to get these chocolates boxed, the packaging is well designed and they have a great variety of ribbon to choose from. I just wanted to try a couple that caught my eye from the window. The caramel fudge was amazing as it had pieces of ginger through it. Also the 'honeycomb bark' was great too. I should've gotten a bigger piece!

The shop window, laden with delicate rows of glossy brown orbs, promised respite, sustenance and chocolate-fixes from what had seemed to be a life without chocolate. Stepping over the threshold, a fabulous cocoa-rich waft tantalised my nostrils. Oh finally, I thought, my chocolate-famine has come to an end. I enthusiastically started pointing out truffles, buttons, bombes, ganaches and pralines that I wanted to buy. I liked their witty names - the B52 Bombe, for example; their hand-written labels; the brightly coloured ribbons and exquisite packaging. Of course, the chocolates tasted as delicious as they looked - no surprises there. They are expensive, at around $12 a kilo. But you have to pay for quality, and in a climate that isn't conducive to chocolate, I think they're worth every dollar. These are the type of chocolates that everyone loves to receive as a present. The packaging makes them even more wonderful. The choice that is available means there will be something for everyone - from the traditionalist who just wants a dark chocolate truffle to the fruit bat who wants a strawberry fondant - Just William can cater to all your chocolate desires.

The boutique chocolate shop…read morespecialises in 'real chocolate' - that is chocolate made by local artisan chocolatiers with high coco content and premium coco butter. Oh and of course it is all organic. Given all this you might think a trip to Coco Chocolate may be a bit too pretentious for your liking. In actuality, a stop a Coco Chocolate is both a pleasure and an indulgence. The shop itself is actually quite humble considering the quality of the chocolate it is home to. Chocolate lines the walls and the centre of this charming space is actually a communal table which is very inviting for a coffee or tea. Staff know their products inside out and are very helpful with suggestions and any questions you might have. Any of their treats make for a wonderful gift, so if you're looking for something a bit different this is the place to pick it up!

I can still smell the dark, wickedly non-bitter and very very moreish chocolate..... *drools*…read more.. Why? Because I could not leave the store without buying some. :-) On the hunt for yet another cafe, I stumbled upon a store front that almost seemed boarded up with news clippings and other laminated articles, and if it was not for the "Chocolate" that caught my eye, I may have missed out entirely. The shop maybe quite small, but it is packed with so many varieties of deliciousness that you'll be hard pressed to choose. I decided that I should try to find the ultimate match for a couple of the smoky Islay single malts I have at home. The desire therefore was to find something 80+% cocoa solids, giving a rich comparison to savour the smoky peat. At this request I was presented a sample of the perfect dark choc. Within seconds I had found what I was after. Not to stop there I was then presented a sample of tobacco chocolate which contained heavily caramelised cocoa which was then mixed in with 60% choc. The result was a crisp, almost nutty result which while delicious, was not as good as the 80% I then purchased. No this is not the cheapest chocolate you will find, but it has to be close to the best in Sydney. I would certainly recommend them if good quality choc is what you are after. By the way, they also serve Sacred Grounds coffee here which I can not review as I did not drink any here, but you might want to should you drop in.
