Lived in San Pedro for decades and visited here on many occasions. Usually when tired and very hungry. Never more than average fair. Edible when starving! My visit today was my very last. I ordered the Chinese Special and the offering was tasteless and less than fresh. I ate about half and discarded the rest. Garbage can meal to say the least. I would be embarrassed to serve such mediocrity!

All of the one star reviews for this place are sadly missing the point. It's a 'cha chaan teng' style restaurant in San Pedro that's been around for decades. I was able to get Hong Kong style beef chow fun on a Sunday night. It's the only dish I order there. Most everything else on the menu is a miss, but the beef chow fun is spectacular! Just like Hong Kong!

This place is the most lousy Chinese food restaurant I've ever been to. The Mongolian beef is not Mongolian beef, it's bland meat with too many onions. They didn't give me fried rice which was supposed to be part of the special, they gave me brown rice which they tried to pass off as fried. I would've at least preferred white rice instead. Not even their egg rolls were good, tasted strange. Avoid this place at all costs.

I was feeling under the weather, so I asked my BF to pickup some Wor Wonton soup for me. The wontons were nothing but rubbery dough and not a spot of meat. There were a couple pieces of rubbery chicken, 2 slices of what I think was BBQ Pork and 2 small pieces of shrimp. The rest of the "soup" was packed with huge slices of celery and the "broth" was nothing more then slightly seasoned water. My BF got the Mongolian Beef! It was very soupy and was also packed with a huge amount of celery! Unfortunately because it was so soupy and put in a regular Chinese take out box, the juice leaked all over his car seat! Needless to say, he was not happy! This use to be one of the better Chinese restaurants in town. Not anymore!!

I always get their fried wonton "skins" for our homemade Chinese chicken salad. They are always super nice and always on time.

Good food, piping hot. Have some seating indoors for anyone that wants to dine in. The owner seems speedy and efficient.

We also considered a Mexican joint we have been wanting to try but it was closed for some reason even though their posted hours were 10am on. Lee's is like a Panda Express with much, much more on the cafeteria-style menu with many additional items made to order like the various soups, including Thai offerings and shrimp dishes. The pre-made food in the cafeteria line looks great and fresh with plenty of items offered. Note we were there at opening time. The jalapeno fried chicken wings looked insanely good but we didn't order them because I think the only one of us who would like them is me. We ordered Broccoli Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, BBQ Pork, a Large Fried Rice, Large Chow Mein, Veggie Spring Rolls and a ton of Orange Chicken....and I expected a much more expensive bill. The total came to $61 and I was very pleased. Since when have Chinese entrees gone up in price to $14.99 to $16.99 and more?? So Lee's offers quite decent fare for a fraction of the cost. Is the food the best Chinese ever? No. But let me tell you, the Orange Chicken is on par with the best I have had. The Broccoli beef is very good with plenty of nice, fresh, crisp and ample broccoli (definitely not frozen). The BBQ pork was a family hit. The Kung Pao Chicken was alright but had a ton of veggies so I did enjoy it. Spring Rolls were perfect as SR's should be (and their particular Sweet & Sour Sauce was different than standard and very tasty). The fried rice lacked some flavor but nothing spicy mustard, Sriracha or soy sauce couldn't fix. Same with the chow mein noodles. I assume Lee himself was serving me. He was quiet and didn't understand much English but he sure stuffed the to-go boxes full to the tops which I really appreciated and you don't find that at most places. I do recommend this place and had wavered between a 3 and a 4 star review. I gave Lee's 4 stars for the decent food which my kids claimed was the best ever (they might not be mine afterall??) and the very fair prices unlike the gouging prices of most every other Chinese place.

There was eight of us, and we ordered a lot of dishes to share. I'm gonna break them down, but I have to say that nothing we had was not top quality. I haven't had food like this in years. First was the Kung pow chicken. Wow, it was just a perfect blend of spice and the chicken was perfect. No gristle. And that is the theme of this entire meal. I hate gristle, this Kung pow was sublime. Sweet-and-sour pork. I basically given up on this dish because no one gets it right, and it's always an excuse to hide gristle and fat. Not in this case. It was super tasty and for the first time I can remember there wasn't 1 ounce of gristle in this meat. It was just crispy tasty wonderful. Hong Kong style chow mein with pork. Another dish I haven't had in years, and this place nailed it. Reminded me of my old China house restaurant in Alameda. I mean it was really good. The pork was awesome, the gravy was perfect. What a great dish. The fried rice was excellent. Not greasy at all. I believe we got a combination fried rice and man was it good. Shrimp with lobster sauce. This was excellent, God this dinner was just so great, and this dish was right in there with the rest of them. I can't wait to go visit family again so I can eat at this place. It was spectacular. Oh and the last thing, the hot and sour soup was amazing. Again haven't had this type of food since I left the Bay Area. I give this meal a triple wow!!!
