I live in Nevada, and due to jurisdiction, my visa application had to be processed through the San Francisco Consulate. Instead of traveling there and dealing with long wait times, I decided to use Free China Visa based on a recommendation from my cousin. I had also checked with a local travel agency in Las Vegas, and they quoted me $390, while Free China Visa charged $300, which was a much better deal. Just a heads up: you still need to complete the China Online Visa Application (COVA) yourself and mail in your passport. Once your application is approved by the consulate, you notify Free China Visa, and they handle the in person drop off and pickup for you. I submitted my order on 2/24/26 and received my passport back by 3/13/26. The process took a little over two weeks, mainly because I had to make some updates to my application and provide additional documents. Overall, the steps were straightforward and easy to follow. It's easy to shift blame to others rather than take the responsibility about your own negligence.
