Review update. 2nd time visiting to do a full day of laptop work. This review is specifically for…read morethe 2nd floor. Connection: There are outlet sources along two long community style tables and at desk spaces along the walls. Super great! Space: 2nd floor is very quiet. There are library computers all around, some in the open, some in tiny cubicle sort of desks. There are also tables that seat 4. Perhaps the best part are the two very long community style tables with power strips down the middle. LOTS of outlets. There are also cubby style desks around the walls for extra quiet. And if privacy, silence is needed, I see there are also little study rooms available. They might require reservation so double check library website. This is great! And on a really hot day, it feels good to hide out at the library in the free A/C. Win win!

So cute, they offer a mini library card you can hang on your keychain. It's big, with two floors, and includes clean restrooms, meeting rooms for community events, a plant seed library, study rooms, a children's section, printers and computers, and a makerspace for 3D printing (must sign a waiver beforehand). Sometimes a book sale. It's not that fancy, with no cafe inside like other libraries have in the rich area. Most of the books are outdated from the 2010s; only a few novels are updated to the past few years. I wish they offered more up-to-date design books on topics like User Experience Design and AI, which I read as a refresher in multimedia design. You can borrow up to six books for over two weeks, and they automatically renew the next return date. I prefer to read three per month to be considerate. Scanning several books at the kiosk is easier and faster than a checkout line. They do have great access to free online resources such as audiobooks, music streaming, Hoopla Digital (Netflix dupe), and full access to magazines and newspapers without subscriptions. You can also use your library card to get free passes to certain museums and galleries across the Bay Area on Discover & Go. Sometimes they might have National Park passes to Yosemite, which you have to check with the library first around May. Plus, they offer free seminars like resume writing from Ohlone College, filing taxes, and family activities for kids. There's even a glasses donation box courtesy of the Lions Club International. Lots of parking in front with easy access to Lake Elizabeth, pickleball courts, and the Fremont Police Department. I also love that they provide a library locker near Irvington Community Park and Warm Spring Community Center, where you can pick up books that you reserved online with your library account, which is so convenient to walk to from home. You can drop your books in the return box next to the lockers. I don't have to drive to the main library to avoid silly children and encounter homeless people lying near the return box.

That is good.

Not to mention their teens and children's areas that are perfect for all age groups. The library especially is spacious and virtually meant for young children who want to roam around. Also for all the comic book lovers and enthusiasts, this library provides an enormous collection of comics with the likes of Garfield and Spider-Man from Marvel. What if you want to just borrow a movie to watch? Well, this library has a gigantic section full of movies! With fan-favorites such as the Tatanic and The Mask of Zorro to Batman Begins and Mary Poppins, this place has it all! All in all, it was a good visit and I enjoyed hanging out and relaxing with a book in one of the comfortable lounging chairs and also walking around to see what all this library has to offer. Check out my pictures to see how this library covers everybody for most everything you'd look for in a library, nice!

I was shocked when they had a few new book releases that were still on the shelf and not checked out. As for movies and shows, they have a huge selection of media. There were a few movies I was specifically looking for but all of the copies are on hold. Most notably, I was shocked how expansive their games selection is. They had a massive offering of Xbox, PS4/PS5 and Switch games. Everything here was clean, staff was nice and it was poppin' on a Saturday. Thankfully they have a parking garage and we had to park on the third floor just because of how busy it is. Support your public libraries!!

The library is relatively new with several little rooms for meet ups etc. and a larger auditorium where they have book sales and classes/lectures. There's also a way to get discount tickets through the library, but I have never done it myself (I think you need to check in the first of the month or something). The library is clean and well kept, and the books have been in relatively good condition. The DVDs are often damaged, but I haven't found any circulation of DVDs that isn't like that. Library also has eBooks and the ability to place holds via the website or app. Holds are picked up to the left of the parking structure entrance in the first set of shelves on the left as you walk past the self checkout kiosks.

Encouraged surplus population to settle in Americans to develop a colony. America soon evolved many myths/lies/alternative facts to erase/assimilate/"terminate" the existence of Native Americans: #1 All the Real Indians Died Off -population of Native Americans shrank from 10 million in 1492 to 250,000 in the 1900's due to slavery, disease, Indian wars with United States, Christianization ("kill the Indian, Save the Soul"). -Indians erased from history, "assimilated" -Indian tribes have membership lists, based on blood quantum. #2 Thanksgiving Proves the Indians Welcomed the Pilgrims (1620's) -wasn't called thanksgiving then, basically a shared meal between Indians & Pilgrims after a successful harvest whereby Indians taught Pilgrims what to farm. Pilgrims prospered, proceeded to "settle"/acquire land. Native tribes resisted pilferage of their lands/food stocks/animals.... #9 US Presidents were Benevolent or at least Fair-Minded Towards indians -Declaration of Independence states Indigenous lands were for settlers to colonize. -T. Jefferson, G. Washington, A. Jackson bought Indigenous land from land agents, not Indigenous tribes for speculation. -Jefferson purchased land from France without consulting Indigenous tribes, for example settlers to claim land thereon. -Andrew Jackson thru The Indian Removal Act removed many Indian tribes from their lands. #11 The United States Gave indians Their Reservations -Indian occupied lands have always been Indian lands. -Indian tribes ceded 90,000,000 acres via 400 treaties. The U.S. did not honor a single one. -the ceded lands were to be held in trust for the benefit of Indian peoples. "Reservations" were from Indian lands. Monies due from Indian lands mismanaged, unaccounted for. 5 stars for eye opening info. Barely reported by mainstream media. November is Native American Heritage Month

I like this area because it is actually quiet and there are outlets right on the table. The wi fi is easy to access and is not slow. There are available study rooms to reserve. I would not suggest reserving one if you are looking for a quiet space (in case it does get loud in the main area) because the walls are thin and you can hear others speaking in the rooms next to you. I'd say that it is good to reserve for a group study session or if you need a whiteboard with the necessary dry erase markers. The location is really good because it's within walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants in case you need to grab a coffee before starting to study or need to take a break and get something to eat. There is plenty of parking in the parking garage!

I thought I was cool. For some reason I was drawn to the piece of art at the end of the aisle on the wall. Someone had made little square origami pieces out of recycled comic-book pages, with a pebble in the middle of each square. What a creative idea that was. I don't talk to anyone because I do not have social skills. I was looking for a Harry Potter book, and the location pointed me to the first floor, where the children's books are (that was the only time I went into that section). I was never much of a reader. But within the last two years I have read so many books (30-40 books is a lot for me, okayyyy). Now I cannot go a day without reading a book. The restrooms are really clean--really, really clean. I used to dry my hands by waving them quickly through the air dryer. Now I go very slowly, as if my car is going through the last part of an automatic car wash, where the car moves slowly so the dryer can gently push the water away.

I first saw this in the software company I worked at in the 1990's where engineers would start playing online games in the afternoon and the internet slowed to a crawl exactly like what I observed at this library this week. Back in the 1990's it was not possible to control this activity. Now it is. Pleasanton is falling behind. This is not the 1990's! Upgrade your systems! To stop public Wi-Fi from being overwhelmed by heavy gaming, high-definition streaming, or massive background downloads, you don't actually need software installed on individual patron devices. Instead, the standard industry practice is to use network-level management through a Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) or DNS-based content filtering.
