Love the Chilli Chicken. Simple and delicious. Nice for a cheap night out or takeaway.

C and I went to Saleem Indian Restaurant to catch up with some old friends over a curry. From the…read moreoutside it is just another shopfront only the neon sign in the window is an indication. Inside the atmosphere has been transformed into an attractive Indian décor. We had selected Saleem because it is an inexpensive Indian restaurant with good and a comfortable atmosphere; C and I have been there many times before. My English friend were pleased to find his favorite dishes on the menu of north Indian cuisine. The restaurant is BYO - C and I had bought a bottle of red, our friends had another bottle; conclusion a very good time was had by all. The service is friendly and efficient. Complimentary poppadoms were served with the meal. The curries are presented in bowels with tea-lights under them. Everyone had plenty to eat with the three curries that we ordered between the four of us. The curries are not spicy hot - Saleem Indian does cater a bit too much to the suburban Australian palette. It also does a good takeaway service that C and I have enjoyed when we were too busy too cook for ourselves.

This is no frills Indian, it's generally delicious and they deliver to your house in the area for…read morefree! The portion sizes are pretty massive and the staff are always friendly and sometimes make gags about me ordering the butter chicken all the time. The Saag wala is radical, as is the lamb bhuna.

As this is was my first visit, I was very surprised to see a beautiful royal purple decor inside. It seems they recently went under a refurb. If you tell the waiter you are Indian he makes a particular note to cook the food appropriately. In our case, the food was to be cooked Desi Style. 'Desi' is slang term for Indians abroad, which I am not but I didn't mind. We ordered Plain Naan, Chicken Kadai (Spicy), Prawn Green Masalla & Lamb Sindhi Biriyani. All dishes were pleasing to the eye, but also great tasting for the price you pay. Lazzat Kadah is a great place to stop off for a late night feed, it's also right next to a Shisha cafe so is a good stop for a great night out.

Went for some indian vegetarian food to this place. Starting with entrees.. We ordered aloo tikki…read more. It wasnt aloo tikki at all infact was a fried cutlet.. Coming feom india.. This was a big disappointment. Then for main course we ordered malai kofta and dal makhani and garlic naan. The curries were ok.. I mean I can cook better but naan were good. Overall the place was ok and dint meet my expectations atleast for vegetarian food.. Though being a weekday the service was very quick and we dint have to wait at all. The interiors can be more vleaner. (Maybe will go next time only to try their non-veg dishes otherwuse not)

When it comes to Indian food, I totally dig this place. Their food is freaking delicious…read more The setting might not be all funky and fancy (it's a strange array of pink and gray furniture) but it doesn't matter when once your meal comes. My personal favorite on the menu are the tandoori aloo which are amazing stuffed potatoes in a yogurt sauce with ginger and garlic. They do a real mean tandoori chicken tikka and you gotta try the beef kashmiri although the vindaloo will knock your socks off. Their menu is big- with butter chicken to rogan josh and deserts to top you off as well as a good choice of vegetarian dishes. Make sure you get some those golden balls of syrupy goodness more commonly known as gulab jamun, they're SO GOOD. Oh, and this place is both eat in and take away so you can enjoy there or at home!

Lucky enough to live around the corner from this place and it's become our regular that never…read moredisappoints. From the outside it looks quite unimposing, but step inside and you'll be in for a treat. At the start of each meal they bring out papadam which are fresh and light, but the best bit is the accompanying mint raita. We're addicted to this stuff and always ask for more to accompany the rest of the meal. The curries are all full of flavour, and super fresh. We've recently discovered the fish curry which sees a delicate white fish cooked in a beautiful tomato based sauce. Oh - and you can't go past the samosas. At only $4.50 for 2, they are large and fluffy - add some of that mint raita and you can't go wrong!
