Walked in to meet Nikki the owner who was very friendly and helpful Both my husband and I filled up bags with some of our selections. I liked that she had many choices of licorice, black in particular, but today I was feeling for sour candies. I will be back for the licorice another time. Cute candy store with all of the Swedish candy you can get your hands on. There was a lot of variety and most of the candy seemed fresh and chewy still. I order buy Swedish candy online regularly but it's cool to see what other outlets carry that you haven't tried before. I agree with another review that said the bins are impossible to work with when you have a bag, a scoop, and possibly a phone/wallet you're holding. This is my second time visiting Nikki's Candy and I can confidently say it's by far the best candy I've ever had. I'm someone who absolutely loves gummy and squishy candy, so I don't say that lightly. They specialize in Swedish candy, which I love because it's made without high fructose corn syrup. That's really important to me, and you can taste the difference. The texture is softer, the flavors are cleaner, and everything feels higher quality than typical candy you'd find elsewhere. I made it a goal this year to shop local whenever possible, so I was really happy to find out this shop is locally owned. The owner has been there both times I've visited, which makes the experience feel personal and welcoming. The shop itself is adorable. Clean, organized, pastel, and just genuinely fun to walk through. And the two-tone blue and pink gummy I pictured is my absolute favorite. Perfectly chewy, slightly sour, and so good. They offer delivery locally and the service was fast and everything was packaged beautifully. You can shop in person or online and the online site was very easy to navigate. It has an abundance of well-balanced flavors: sweet, sour, and salty. Colors, textures, and vegan options. Using natural pectin or pectin instead of gelatin, fructose syrup, and potato starch. The candy avoids artificial dyes, uses natural plant-based colors, and natural flavorings. No GMOs or HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup). The Gummies, licorices, and marshmallow confections are available in a variety of flavors, colors, and textures. My mother is from Sweden. I used to visit Sweden frequently. I have wonderful memories of my Uncle (Morbror) purchasing me candy from the Tabacoo shop he frequented. The smell of pipe tobacco, newly printed newspapers, and Swedish candy filled the air. So, trust me when I say I already have my favorites. The Algren's Bilar are small marshmallow cars. They come in three colors: white, pink, and light green. Then there are the salted black licorice, which are in high demand both in Sweden and Asia. It is an acquired taste. I enjoy them. Next, is anything pear-flavored. These are so flavorful. Then the cola gummies. Last but not least is the large variety of flavors, shapes, and colors of all the marshmallow candies. The store compartmentalized, multi-sectioned, see-through containers, which keep them divided by type and flavor. Simply, get a bag, then a scoop, remove the lid of the container, lay the lid down on the top shelf, and scoop out the amount of candy you desire. I agree with other Yelpers that the candy is pricey. The owner is super kind. They have some Swedish Chocolate for sale. My favorite is Marabou. In my humble opinion, this is the best chocolate ever. For those deciding to make a gift of the candy, they have an assortment of small boxes in various shapes and sizes. So, if you are looking for a healthier alternative to American candy, take a look at this store. Surprisingly tasty and voluminous assortment of gummies and licorice-based candies (I liked the salty licorice ones the best, and the raspberry licorice ones are great too, but I haven't tried them all . . . yet). The shop itself right now is a bit sparsely decorated. It's mainly a single long wall lined with lidded buckets on one side and a cash register on the other. There's a bank of bags and scoops in the middle. I had a bit of difficulty with the bucket lids because I was carrying a couple other things at the time (there's a Trader Joe's next door and I was holding my shopping bags). Didn't get any acknowledgment or assistance from the people who were working (or just hanging out?) there--they were engaged in some gossipy conversation the whole time. I had read about this store opening, and since I love Swedish and British gummies and licorice, was looking forward to checking this out. Fortunately, I then got a sampling of some of Nikki's delicious candies at a recent Yelp event, and knew I had to get more! Located next to Trader Joe's, it was easy to combine this treat with some grocery shopping. The shop is pretty, clean, and bright, although a bit sparse, with the primary focus being the long row of candy bins on one side. Love the prominent sign that lets you know the candies use natural colorants, are free of corn syrup, GMOS, and trans fats, and ingredients are clearly posted on each bin (vegan ones available). You grab a bag and a scoop, and then you're free to mix from a huge variety of options or to just sample some of the curated pre-mixed varieties. As in any bin environment, you have to juggle the lid, scoop, and bag a bit (at least you don't have to label each type!). I ended up resting the rather large covers on the top empty row and somewhat wished the bins had attached hinged lids. I don't like black licorice, or salty licorice at all, but there are plenty of fruit licorice options (plain or sour), with or without fillings (think like a more naturally flavored Sweet Tart rope). Also, lots of gummies and marshmallow-like candies (slightly dense)...my favorite is the caramel and banana mushroom (mellow caramel and tart banana)! I ended up with waaay more in my bag than I had intended, and the price was a bit steep ($1.25/oz), but if you think about the ~$11 bag of Swedish fish they sell at Perenn, the quality of the ingredients, and the difficulty of finding in the US, you get what you pay for. Went in yesterday and was pleasantly surprised! It seems like a Scandinavian type candy store with lots gummies and chewy candy. The sign outside states no high fructose corn syrup or artificial additives so I thought I would give it a shot. Why not? I think it has recently opened and is a family owned shop because there was a cute little boy outside helping give out samples and there was a fun balloon arch at the front. It's nestled between Trader Joe's and the dry cleaner. Upon walking in I was greeted by a very friendly employee explaining how the shop worked and the pricing. Basically in the center as you walk in there is a station with scoops, tongs, etc and bags. You grab you tool if choice and explore the offerings! I THINK she said it was $1.25 an oz which is about right for specialty candy. What I was most appreciative about was that each candy bin had the ingredients labeled. As someone with a gluten issue and the increasing use of wheat glucose in gummy candies, that was very helpful. Got a small sampling of their offerings to try at home. After trying them I have to say I'm impressed! I love gummies in general and the couple I decided to try had a great taste and texture. For example, the watermelon slices are similar to that candy watermelon you'd expect but less chemically (for lack of a better word). The boats had a similar texture to swedish fish but better flavor. Absolutely love the raspberry flavored gum drop looking ones. There is a little room for improvement but I think this is because it is so new. Here are my suggestions: -Highlight the allergens. For some labels, the allergens were pretty easy to see. For others, like the black currant discs I'm devastated about, the print was smaller and the wheat glucose additive was easier to miss. Thankfully I saw it, but that was after I noticed the wheat glucose on a different candy and I went back to check. -Have similar/same candies together. Again, I think this might be because they're new and some bins might be a place holder. But I saw the same candies more than once in different places. So I was 2nd guessing my eyes at first. -Have flavor descriptions on lesser known candies. For example, I saw a few that had names like "half and half" and no real description of what the flavor might be and the ingredient list wasn't helping me completely. There were also gummy cars (super cute) but I was guessing the flavor based on color (I'm still not sure, it's a fruit I assume lol). -A little more signage of pricing and location of items for those who are hard if hearing, deaf, or socially anxious and don't like to talk. This is a LITTLE bit picky, I know. But just a suggestion for better accessibility to all. Overall I'm giving this place a 5 star opening review. It's obvious a lot of care went into the opening of this unique store and I hope they're successful. The location near trader Joe's, the spice store, and other more specialized markets is VERY smart and I hope it pays off. read more

I went to a yelp event and that's the first time I saw Nikki. I'm not a fan of gummi candy, especially sour gummies. Nikki was giving out free samples of her product. I asked Nikki if we could get a bag, she said absolutely. She then told me that half were the sweet and sour, which I don't like and the other was sweet with marshmallows, which I like. I got sweet and the husband got sour and sweet. I tried one of mine and l loved it. My husband ate all of his before we even got home. I told him that I wanted to try the other ones in my bag so I was going to save them. Well, the next day I went to my stash and couldn't find it. Found my husband ate it. I went to Nikki's candy store and with the help from Nikki I bought a bag of all the ones I thought I would like. I have not been disappointed yet. Her candy's are so good and I will be a regular customer from now on. I shop at Trader Joe's quite a bit and Nikki's store is right next door. Went in yesterday for the first time. Originally from Sweden so I know my Swedish candy. Great assortment of candy. They could bring in more salty licorice, but that's not everyone's cup of tea, so I'll understand if they don't. My kids and I enjoyed all the candy we got. The only con is that it's very expensive. I get that the prices are high, but this will prevent us from coming in as often as we would like. (Candy in Sweden is much cheaper). Besides that it's great! I hope they're able to stay in business.
