The Casio watches caught my eye; they all look in great condition and are not as pricey as I had imagined. As for the jewellery, well there is all sorts really. I spotted a lot of cameo brooches, earrings and pendants which are quite fashionable these days across all generations. The rings and earrings generally were very beautiful. They also have wedding rings, charms, christening spoons and cheap costume jewellery. This place really reminds me of one of the copious amounts of second hand jewellery shops you find down the Lanes in Brighton.

Of course, this is a massive lie, as the Watch Workshop does exactly what it says on the tin. As well as doing watch repair work, they also do the expected extras, such as selling straps, and have a very nice display of them all to ensure that you get exactly what you're after. They do a range of repair works, including battery replacements and resealing on divers watches (very handy, as it's often tough to find places able to do that), and all repairs come with a year long guaranteed. The staff are friendly and clearly know their stuff, which I always consider to be a good barometer of the quality of specialist shops such as watch fixers. Highly recommended.

I figured the guys in the Watch Centre MUST know - and indeed they did. 10 minutes later, brand new battery in my watch - good times! Excpept actually, incorrect times - as my watch had reset itself. It's a bit of a funny watch with only one button, and I couldn't figure out how to change the time myself.. so slightly sheepishly I trundled back into the shop. The guy who'd changed the batteries rolled his eyes at me in a comical way when I explained I had no idea how to set my own watch, and then magically he seemed to just prod it a few times and it was correct again! Hurrah! Now I only have to go see him twice a year when the clocks change...

The lady was extremely polite and helpful and recommended an alternative seller Crescent Silver in Spencer Street. She even offered my wife and I a chocolate !! More than that she was absolutely correct as Derek Grant at Crescent had exactly what I was looking for and was also a delightful guy to do business with. A true professional. We had a great day in the Quarter and the level of service from those we met in the various shops was outstanding in comparison to the level of service on a normal city centre shopping area. I was told the see through back was not a good fit, even though it was the original Zenith display back because it had become detached but they had managed to fix it back in, but it will no longer be water resistant. I will add this had never happened before. When I got home and looked at the back I noticed scratches across the back.I will as a result of this have to buy and have a new display back fitted and a polish at considerable cost. Will not be using them again.
