When I say they do a wide range of watches, that's something of an understatement. They have A LOT of very nice timepieces in this place. And a little pond with fish! This contributes towards the relaxed atmosphere that is sometimes missing from jewellery shops. The Creative Watch Co doesn't seem to give off the 'hard sell' vibe. The showroom(s) is/ are much nicer than the exterior. As this was the venue of our Yelp event I didn't purchase anything on the day, but am sure to come back here if I'm planning on buying anything of the sort.

They have an amazing selection of mainly women's silver jewellery, from costume to classy and everything in-between. The lady behind the counter was extremely helpful when I explained that I was looking for a pair of silver hoops. She rummaged through pretty much all her stock that might contain said item but to no avail. That's when she, and the chap currently working on a piece right there and then, explained how the little shop come factory works. They will attempt to source any item you are looking for with a good enough replica, picture or description. Failing that they will just make up from scratch what you are looking for. For me this is a perfect service as what I am often looking for doesn't seem to exist. So, I'll be popping back in with the nearly right hoops I have already and a handful of adjectives. They also undertake jewellery repairs and aim for a day's turn around on all work undertaken.

For several years, I walked past the Watch Workshop on the High Street in Solihull, and every time…read moreI passed I always wondered, 'what could that shop be?' Of course, this is a massive lie, as the Watch Workshop does exactly what it says on the tin. As well as doing watch repair work, they also do the expected extras, such as selling straps, and have a very nice display of them all to ensure that you get exactly what you're after. They do a range of repair works, including battery replacements and resealing on divers watches (very handy, as it's often tough to find places able to do that), and all repairs come with a year long guaranteed. The staff are friendly and clearly know their stuff, which I always consider to be a good barometer of the quality of specialist shops such as watch fixers. Highly recommended.

I figured the guys in the Watch Centre MUST know - and indeed they did. 10 minutes later, brand new battery in my watch - good times! Excpept actually, incorrect times - as my watch had reset itself. It's a bit of a funny watch with only one button, and I couldn't figure out how to change the time myself.. so slightly sheepishly I trundled back into the shop. The guy who'd changed the batteries rolled his eyes at me in a comical way when I explained I had no idea how to set my own watch, and then magically he seemed to just prod it a few times and it was correct again! Hurrah! Now I only have to go see him twice a year when the clocks change...

The stock is fairly traditional, though I did notice some really pretty dangly earrings with giant rhinestones set in fancy gold surrounds. They also sell some ornaments and little trinkets. They say they pride themselves on meeting new people but there was no interaction during my visit; the guy was standing behind the counter whilst customers wondered around.
