First thing to point out is you need to arrive early as possible because the lines get crazy long. Luckily for us we already purchased our tickets online and were able to get in line right away. Secondly, if you need to use the restroom or do anything else, be sure to do that before you wait in line for the hayride. There is no stopping once you get in line for the hayride and once you get off the hayride you have to go through all the haunted houses back-to-back. When you get in line, they corral the groups into what looks like a large steer pen until its that groups time to get on the hayride. It's about a 15-minute ride through the woods - you experience several scare zones, and gory scenes. There are a handful characters like Michael Myers that run out and climb on the back of the wagon trying to scare guests, which is more fun than actually scarry. Once the ride comes to a halt guests once again line up to go through all the haunted houses. The haunted houses were hit and miss. Some were better than others and all the staff in the houses did a decent job. We had a run-in with one security guy that was just a complete jerk and threatened to kick us out for trying to take a picture with a character stating that we touched them when we did not, the character actually grabbed on to us, so WTF! Once through the haunted houses there's not much left to do but walk around, grab a bite to eat and something to drink. It was a little expensive but decided to get a few hot dogs, Snapple ice teas, and some other light snacks; roughly $40 for this. The characters walking around and doing photo ops in this area were great and their costumes were also very good. They stayed in character the whole time we were at the park so this made for a spirited evening. My biggest complaint is there is not enough Porto-lets available or seating near the vendors for the sheer number of guests attending. They literally had 4-5 stalls available for the thousands that can potentially visit here nightly. Also, staff were not stocking the stalls with toilet paper. There were a lot of unhappy Ladies here that night.

We happened to be in NY visiting family and my wife wanted to fit in a few Halloweens inspired events while in the area. She found Field of Horrors via Facebook and further investigated how to buy tickets at Fieldofhorros.com. Tickets were $40 each and you get 6 haunted houses. Dates are limited to Friday-Sunday; we decided to go on Friday October 10th. We arrived shortly after opening time and were able to find a parking spot and gain entry into the event quickly. The lines fill up quickly so be sure to get there as early as you can. We went through four of the haunted houses in the first hour or so of being there and saved the last two after taking a 40-minute break. The last two houses took a lot longer because of our break, but it was still shorter than waiting for a ride a Disney. The characters in the haunted houses did a great job and acted as if they really wanted to be there, thanks for your hard work! No problems from security being too overbearing like other reviewers noted, but know that once you enter you cannot leave to go to your car and come back in again, so be sure to have everything you need before entering the park. Most staff working the entry to the houses were very friendly except one young girl who had no personality and wouldn't even talk guests entering, very unfriendly. Things you should know before you go: The park is all outdoors and is primarily a paintball park. It can be dirty and muddy in some areas so be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. There is no alcohol sold on the premises, but they do sell other beverages including coffee, cider, and plenty of food items. You cannot take photographs or video inside the haunted houses, you also cannot touch characters, if you do, they will remove you from the park. The last haunted house we went in, I believe it was called 'Condemned,' is very difficult to go through. I do not recommend young children or elderly going through this house. The house is pumped full of smoke to the point that you cannot see two inches in front of your face and there is a continuously flashing strobe which doesn't help you find your way through. The only way you can get through this house is if you feel and follow the chain linked fence or the person in front of you as you walk but that doesn't even work for the most part because there are several dead ends. That's pretty much what's so scary about this place is that you can't get out once you get in, it took us about 15-minutes to find our way out. Other things I enjoyed about the Field of Horrors is the scare zone characters - they stayed in character but were willing to take photographs when asked. We also appreciated the bonfire available for guests; it was in the 50's that night so it was a nice touch. We had a blast and felt that this was definitely worth the $40 per person. I would come back again if I'm ever in the area this time of year again.

Everything was so well done and incredibly detailed--it's clear that a lot of thought and effort went into creating the experience. The ticket included several different attractions, and I really liked how each one flowed into the next. It wasn't just a bunch of random scares--it felt like one long, immersive story. It took about 2 hours to go through everything, and it never got boring! The hayride was honestly next-level. I've done haunted hayrides before, but nothing like this. The scenes, the actors, the effects... and YES--there was a real horse with a headless rider That moment totally blew my mind and made the whole thing feel so much more legit and spooky. The costumes and actors throughout the entire night were seriously impressive--super detailed and genuinely scary. You could tell the cast was really committed, and it made the whole experience feel that much more real. They also have shops set up where you can grab snacks and hot cocoa, which was a nice touch after all the excitement. I saw this place only had 3 stars on Yelp, and honestly--I don't get it. This was such a well-executed haunted attraction, and I truly had an amazing time. I'd definitely come back and will be recommending it to friends. While other reviewers mentioned 'Hollywood level' props, I didn't quite see that. The sets are good, but not mind-blowing. Have I been to scarier haunted attractions? Absolutely. But the Headless Horseman's strength is its atmosphere. You can't beat the genuine, spooky vibe of being on a huge plot of dark farmland, surrounded by rustling cornrows. I would definitely not say this is in the top ten of haunted attractions but really was nice for being close to home. They had two different themed haunts. You could buy a single ticket for $20 or both haunts for $30. Haunts were primarily actor based and lacked sophisticated props but still could elicit a scream or two. Haunt is indoors which is nice. After going out of state to more elaborate haunts with the same ticket price this seemed a bit high for what it was. Parking was very unorganized no handicapped parking but than there were a lot of health limits to this haunt so maybe not really appropriate for handicapped guests. For those sensitive to strobe lights this is not an activity for you. Best actor was at the ticket booth dressed as the clown from "It". If you are looking fir a Halloween activity this is a fun activity to do. Looked like they had a snack bar but when we were there no one was manning the snack bar. Open Friday through Sunday from 7pm to 10pm. You can buy tickets online or in person. No photos as photos are not permitted
