I once went to a potluck party and I almost finished half dish of the chicken pastel served. It was creamy, chicken was cut bite size, veggies were still crunchy and sauce, ahhhh, perfect. I asked my friend who brought the chicken pastel and when I was introduced to him, I asked how he perfected the food. He said it was a pacham, short for pachamba, meaning, it was a hit and miss and eventually it became a hit.
Fastforward to a while ago, I passed by at Dic's UP Town Center. I saw on their display refrigirator that there was a chicken pastel similar on how it was presented in a potluck party. I got curious and actually bought one llanera. Once I got home, I prepped it for the microwave, got rice, and ate it. It was one and the same! Ahahahaha! I now know that this chicken pastel I ate in the party was actually a store-bought food! I immediately messaged this guy who brought the pastel in the party and I said, "Hey, your pastel actually came from Dic's?" to which he replied with a smiley. Hahaha.
