We took our first one at a different place, but it was super sketchy so we decided to try a different place and ended up here. Our experience here was so much better. It's located in an office park. The interior is nice and modern. The staff is professional. The check in process is easy and actually seems legitimate. After checking in, we were taken to a small exam room that was quiet and took the exam. The whole process was seemless. All of these are things I would expect from a testing center, but it was not our experience at the other one. Unfortunately, their availability is pretty limited since they only do Fridays and Saturday mornings. I'll definitely be coming here from now on if they have availability.

I was an independent contractor for MyComputerCareer, drafting policies and procedures and was NEVER Paid for my services. I delivered written policies and procedures required of a higher education institution, customized to their organization, which I was contracted and never received payment for my services. I think this speaks volumes as to their likelihood of not fulfilling their commitments to other vendors, nor STUDENTS. Integrity is a big issue for those seeking higher education and trusting in what is advertised and presented.

First of all: DO NOT BECOME A DENTAL ASSISTANT. It is a complete scam job-you will pay $4,000 to…read moreget certified to make $15/hour with no benefits and get treated like garbage no matter how good of an Assistant you are. This school was nothing short of a disaster. The "educators" couldn't have cared less about the students. They were rude (one teacher told a student in front of the class that she looked pregnant-she was not.) I learned absolutely nothing in this program. When I got out into the field I was completely unprepared. There was a huge focus on learning how to perform a Full Series set of XRays. This is something that a Hygienist performs. Rarely is it done in my office by an Assistant. I have never had to do one in the year and half that I have been with my office. There were multiple classes where the educators "didn't have enough" materials for us all to practice our Lab tests. They also made us use broken equipment and we were made to reuse the same temporary mold that had been used 30+ times and were expected to make a temporary out of it-and be graded on the results. The teachers were rude, condescending, insulting and just genuinely not happy to be there. The scrubs that we got with the program were absolutely disgusting. They were the cheapest quality available and they had their dental assisting logo stitched onto them so even if you wanted to use them in the future, you couldn't. We were promised Head Shots which I never received after they were taken. The website that we had to use for the majority of our 9 week program for all of our testing and homework had constant glitches and was terrible to try and navigate with tons of errors. During my timed final exam I was trying to perform an FMX with a broken rinn piece and out of frustration and stress I asked one of the nicer educators if I could at least get equipment that wasn't broken considering I spent my $4,000 to get my certification here, and another young educator completely freaked out on me! She was yelling up and down the halls, threatening me and acting like absolute trash all while disrupting everyone else. She was pulled into another room and kept there for the remainder of the exam but I was never apologized to, the educator that spoke to me after was attempting to blame me for the error and said I was simply not performing the procedure correctly and that the problem wasn't with the BROKEN equipment. I reported this to the higher ups and was then disqualified from participating in a review of the program. We were promised gift cards if we secured a job-I never received mine. Our online business advisor changed TWICE during my 9 week program and was never responsive to mine or other students questions and concerns with the website issues. Everyone I talked to in my program was equally upset about the way we were being treated. If you are dead set on a career as a Dental Assistant, don't waste your money getting certified. Nobody cares at all about you having your RAD certification when hiring. They will take you off the street with no certification and teach you because nobody wants to work for $14/hour. It is grueling work, unsafe and degrading. I wish someone would have warned me before I wasted all the money but since they didn't, I feel that I have to discourage anyone who is considering this program.

However what I realized was that the currículum was exceptionally basic in having no real substance at all and the school's equipment & software was severely outdated. Many of the students in my class also agreed. The school's director, John Casson, at the behest of administration, conducted himself more like a used car salesman in desperately trying to get more students to attend the institute for financial reasons; almost as if Mr. Casson worked on commission. My classmates at the time also believed that the majority of instruction within the school's curriculum could have been learned on our own via YouTube. Again, this school is an unequivocal sham, it's unprofessional, and they DO NOT provide much follow up/assistance to their students during class or after graduation. Mr. John Casson has since moved on from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting to form his own institute which I dearly hope will not be in the likeness of his previous employer. The Connecticut School of Broadcasting gets an emphatic thumbs down and score of "sub zero" from me.

My Mac is my lifeline, so I needed to get it fixed as soon as possible. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to request quotes from multiple repair shops. Alex responded to my request on a Thursday evening, which I really appreciated. I received one other quote, but this shop was closer and significantly more affordable at $350 instead of $600. The next day, I spoke with Ahmad and paid in advance so they could order the replacement part. They informed me that it would arrive sometime between Monday and Wednesday. Later, they even called me back to confirm that I wanted a Grade A screen, explaining that while it wasn't completely brand new, it was still covered by a one-year warranty. If I preferred a brand-new screen, it would cost an additional $50. I asked Ahmad for his honest opinion on which option was best for me, and he recommended the Grade A screen over the new one. I trusted his advice and went with that option. I dropped off my Mac on Wednesday at 9 AM, and by 11:30 AM, I received a call saying it was ready for pickup. Ahmad made the entire process as smooth and painless as possible, and I can't express how much I appreciated that. I highly recommend this place!
