Person was 20min late. System was also "down" on the day of appointment and did not bother telling me sooner because they "didn't know".

This is the easiest way to handle your taxes and it comes with a peace of mind guarantee . For an additional $40.00 you can know that your taxes will be done and they'll stand behind your taxes should you have any audit or issues with the return. They'll handle your issues and get you the best refund available. Stop in and ask for Brian Rich ! He's the tax guy that can get your return handled and filed with no stress. Appointments are flexible and the process is seamless. Two thumbs way up!

I filed my taxes at the beginning of March specifically so I wouldn't be stressed or scrambling near the deadline. Unfortunately, H&R Block, and specifically their tax professional Marc Jacobson, managed to turn what should have been a simple filing into one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. After Marc filed my return, he told me I owed New York State over $1,000. That immediately seemed strange because I was only a part‑time resident from January to April before relocating to North Carolina. Four weeks later, I received a letter from New York State saying that information was missing from my return to confirm my part‑year residency, and that it needed to be corrected by April 27th. I went back to the office on April 6th to have Marc fix the issue. He told me he had "never seen this before" and couldn't understand why I received the letter. When I got home, I reviewed my return myself and discovered the problem instantly. On my New York return, Marc had incorrectly marked me as a full‑year resident for 12 months in 2025. This error is exactly why I was told I owed over $1,000 when in reality, I should have been receiving around $300 back. I returned to the office the same day, but Marc had already left. The receptionist asked another tax professional, Steven Buckley, to help. He reviewed my return and immediately confirmed that a mistake had been made. I left all my documents with him including my W‑2, which somehow had never been scanned into my original return and wasn't even in my MyBlock account. So at this point, H&R Block had every single one of my physical documents. Steven told me it would be a simple fix and that he would take care of it. He said he would work on it the evening of 4/9 and call me when it was done so I could pick up my documents. That call never came. Since then, I have been calling the office almost every day. No one can tell me anything. All I get is, "We'll send him an email." Steven Buckley has never reached back out to me, and as I write this, he still has my original documents. The deadline is approaching, and I have no corrected return, no communication, and no idea where my paperwork is. I paid over $200 for H&R Block to file my taxes, and they are dragging their feet to fix a mistake they made. According to their own website, if they make an error that causes you to owe taxes you shouldn't owe, they are supposed to refund the filing fee. I have not received a refund, an apology, or even basic communication. Corporate was no help either. They open a case, tell you a district manager will contact you, and if they don't within five days, the case closes and you have to start over. It's a loop designed to go nowhere. This entire experience has been unacceptable. I trusted H&R Block with my personal information, my documents, and my tax return and they failed at every step. I will never use them again, and I strongly recommend choosing literally any other tax service. No one should have to chase down their own documents or beg a company to fix their own mistakes.
