Use caution prior to using the Shrewsbury Plastic Surgery Center. Consulted with Dr. Rose to have my breast implants removed & replaced with saline implants. The implants were to be placed under the chest muscle(sub-muscular) 1 year post-op I had my routine mammography and was told my implants were placed on top of the muscle not under the chest muscles. I called Dr Rose's office & asked his Nurse to pull up my post-op surgical notes that Dr Rose documented. She stated as per the doctors notes that the implants were placed under the chest muscles. I have left 4 messages for a call back without a response. This is malpractice in my book. Thinking of contacting a malpractice attorney, maybe that will get their attention. Do yourself a favor and DONT GO HERE! I went for a microneedling session with Dr Yu and she didn't do it correctly at all, rushed and was finished in a minute and missed MULTIPLE areas of my face. She had another client waiting for her outside the room and apologized to them as she rushed me out of her room! On top of that I was sitting in the room with the numbing cream on my face for an HOUR! To then have her do the session inefficiently and sloppy? When I called to tell them I was extremely unhappy, I was told to email them "my side of the story of what happened" and when I did I never heard anything back and called their office multiple times and kept getting the silent treatment until I contacted my bank to dispute the charge because I had already paid for 3 sessions in full. I still had to pay $200 for her microneedling my face for 1 minute lol. What an absolute joke and a complete waste of time and money! I've gotten microneedling done at other places and they take their time and do it correctly and I've seen amazing results immediately after. You cannot complete this procedure in 1 minute! These Dr's are amazing so inform and skilled. I can say enough about Dr. Elkwood and his staff! I have Radiation damage to my nerves and old breast emplanted that was surrounded by scar tissue. Dr. Elkwood and Dr. Chang performed my surgery to find a solution to the nerve damage and replace my emplant along with removing the scar tissue! Dr Kaufman and his team was able to treat me with a "miracle procedure". 4 doctors all told me my condition would never get better and I need to live with it. Dr Kaufman had a treatment plan and it worked. His staff was responsive and very helpful getting my insurance onboard to pay the bill. I would highly recommend! read more

Use caution with this practice ! I used Dr Patel for a rhinoplasty , lip injections , under eye laser and some work on my bellybutton . All 4 were very poorly . My rhino is not straight , my lips were left with a marble size bump on the lip , my under eye laser was useless and my belly button procedure was beyond botched ! He ruined my bellybutton to the point it effected my modeling and fitness competing career . My belly button now has to be air brushed in all photos and when people see it I airbrushed , they make horrible comments about how awful it looks . When I look at it , I get so upset and cry . He ruined my belly button and I should never have trusted him . My belly button was slightly sagging at the top from pregnancy . I asked the Dr if he could fix it and he said yes , that he could just cut the area and lift it back up . When I awoke from surgery and looked at the stitches in my belly button , I was shocked to see my skin was all sown into the some of the stitches almost pouring out of the threading . I asked the nurse if that was normal and she said just bring it up to the Dr at your follow up . Naturally I was worried about scarring from the sloppy stitch job . The area was so inflamed from his stitch job that he left in a few stitches upon removal because he couldn't even see them . He assure me it would all go away within the next six months . My belly button was not cut at the top and lifted as he said it would be . It was cut all the way around 365 degrees and it now has super thick ugly scarring all the way around . It now resembles a sun with rays ! It looks like someone cut it out entirely and sewed it back off with a cheap sewing kit . This is by no means the work of a professional Surgeon . My belly button was butchered at the hands of Dr Patel . If I would of knows he was going to do this to me , I would of left it alone . I went back to his office a few times after the year time period he made me wait claiming that it may need that long to heal and complained of the work . He offered me to steroid injection which I knew would be useless for this kind of damage . They did nothing . I opted to go in and speak to the owner of this place , Dr Elkwood assuming as the owner he would offer some kind of solution for me the customer . I was wrong . Dr Elkwood acknowledged all of the markings caused by Dr Patel and said , " well that area can do that , did you ever consider a tummy tuck ?" Not only did he try to sell me another service , but he refused to offer to have Dr Patel fix his mistake . He told me I can "attempt " to do another surgery and it would be more than the first surgery I already paid for ! What kind of Doctor / Owner would ever allow this type of work to be performed in his practice ? What kind of Doctor / owner would not hold the operating Doctor responsible ? What kind of Doctor / owner would refuse to rectify the situation for the customer ? This procedure was on the low end for plastic surgery at about $1500 . These Doctors couldn't just return my money so I could go get it fixed elsewhere ? That amount was not going to break their bank in the least and I think it was beyond unethical to not return my money or offer to fix It . May I add how extremely shocked I am at Dr Patel ? Dr Patel has known me for years . I used to personal train his wife in his home for quite sometime . I took the upmost care of his wife when she was under my training unlike the way he took care of me under the knife and after surgery . I have given him more than enough business and I don't deserve this kind of treatment when I put my body in his hands . Dr Patel completely took advantage of me and Dr Elkwood backed him up . I don't know how these two Doctors are ok with having zero morals or empathy for patients that they treat like a science project but I will never step foot in this practice again or refer them to anyone ! I was referred here by my ENT doctor because my breathing issue with my nose was not sinus related at this point in time. So I met with Kaufman for a consultation on a cosmetic rhinoplasty as well as a medical rhinoplasty. He and his staff were so incredibly professional and friendly. They made me feel so comfortable with my decision in looking to fix my nose. So we did some discussing and we actually discovered that my nose collapse at the tip so it is heavier than usual...this requires surgery to fix it and lift it up. This is part of the reason as to why I cannot breathe. He treats you like a human being and not just another patient who is walking into his door. He was very personable. I was just so pleased with how everything went. I hope to go through with the surgeries by next year since I am competing and healing time usually takes up to 1 month before you can go back to working out. As far as the facility, it is spotless and reminds me of a spa! They will take before and after photos of you and also show you what your results will look like after surgery! When making decisions regarding your health and well being, your choice of Doctor should be tantamount. None so important as regarding the very emotional decision of choosing a facial plastic surgeon. I am 19 months post face-lift by Dr Matthew Kaufman of The Plastic Surgery Center and sadly, this has become the greatest regret of my life. Perhaps, if I had done more research, or had taken more time looking for personal recommendations, I could have enjoyed a much more acceptable result. Without recalling the many disappointing follow-up appointments where I stated my dissatisfaction and was berated for questioning his skill, I can merely encourage any prospective clients of Dr Matthew Kaufman to look elsewhere. STRONGLY! What you MUST understand is that once the money has been paid, you get what you get and there is little recourse. Think about that for a moment, and then think about it again... and again. Look for a surgeon who will spend time explaining every detail of your prospective experience. Make your desires crystal clear or you will be left to accept what the surgeon thinks is "nice" for you. A few Before and After photos on a website are not a realistic representation of results as a whole. Avoid the assembly line plastic surgeons! I can guarantee, from personal experience, your result will be devastatingly disappointing. After reviewing my medical records, (which, as an aside, took 7 weeks to obtain and by law should have arrived in 4 weeks) I was shocked at the untruths written in these recordings, which you must realize are simply one-sided entries. No input from you appear. Again, I must reiterate, avoid a very costly and extremely emotional mistake you will be forced to confront each and every morning in the mirror with regret and sadness. Invest the time and choose wisely with regard to your plastic surgeon. If I knew then, what I know now! I IMPLORE YOU, learn from my painful mistake and look elsewhere.
