I've just ordered and they tell me it's another 25-30 minute wait. I'll be back with a review of the food and more details then. I'm back after a total wait of one hour! Let me say,it was worth the wait. If they are still open when you read this,it's worth the trip. I've had this place book marked several years. Opened in 1951, it's the quintessential small town burger stand. I just forgot about it until the other day when I read they're closing. Don't cry,it's because of real estate values. It's no longer economically feasible to make small profits working hard no matter how good the burgers are. The burgers are really good. This place is slammed. I saw two large door dash orders go out and a lot of people that must have ordered online Coming and going. Finally my name was called and I took my piping hot brown paper sack to the hood of my truck. Looking into the sack, loose fry, pull it out, bite it, perfect. Unwrap burger, looks fantastic, bitting into it.... satisfaction! I'm a sucker for small towns but Anna is no more. In only five years the influx of migrants from other states have fueled exponential growth. It's happening everywhere and places like Spurlocks are the victims. It's our loss too,as these quaint old places harbor a lot of history. The kind that built America. Usually the Yelp community competes to be the first to Review a new business. I find it satisfying in this case and honored that I may be the last to Review... The Malt Shop

And we were not wrong... We tried the cookies and cream malt, fried Oreos, as shown in the picture, and of course we had to get some fries. All came out piping hot, except for the malts, of course. My kid said it was one of the best malts they have ever had, which is a strong statement because they are ice cream connoisseur lol. Their fries were crinkle cut which just added to the old school feel the fried Oreos were cooked to perfection and exactly what I wanted There is a cute little indoor seating area next to the kitchen, but we didn't take advantage of it because we got our food to go. As we walked in, the workers looked at us as they sat in the back, eating, but didn't say anything. We weren't sure if we can seat ourselves or have to wait to be seated. I said it out loud and then a female waitress said we can sit down anywhere. She was so soft spoken that I could barely make out what she was saying. We placed our orders. I had the Strawberry Banana Pancakes. They came out looking great, however, the strawberries up top were spoiled and tasted awful and rotten. Looks can certainly be deceiving. Sadly, the bananas were soaked in the strawberry syrup, which ruined the top and bottom pancakes of the stack. I was only able to eat the two in the middle and had to cut some pieces off as to not get food poisoning, since they were drenched in the spoiled strawberry syrup. When the waitress came back to ask if we were done eating, I let her know to throw out the strawberries, as they were spoiled and disgusting. She just said "ok." No apologies, no inkling of concern or care. Nothing. We then waited like two weirdos for over 20+ minutes for the check, while she went to sit down again with her family at the back table to continue eating. They must have overheard us being confused at where we can pay, when she finally got up and said that we can pay at the front and walked over with us. I was charged full price for the garbage rotten pancakes that I didn't eat. Horrible service. Watch out so you don't get poisoned, especially in the summer when fruits can spoil quickly when not properly stored.

The Rock Yard popped up at this increasingly busy intersection of two small country highways. After a day of kicking around on the ranch,my grandson and I were hungry. So,I decided now was the perfect time to try Rock Yard. I'm not going to spend too much time on this review as I don't believe they earned it. My experience was less than rewarding for one primary and I consider mortal sin,pre-cooked hamburger patty. Our food was brought out way too fast after ordering to have been cooked from scratch. Not sure why anyone building a customer base would take this approach. We both finished our burgers. We ordered the Hangover Cure consisting of a substantial patty, bacon, over easy egg( also seemed precooked) and a small container of queso. I will probably return and give them a second chance. They have a dedicated pizza oven and it would be nice to pick one up on the way to the farm sometime. Till then,I'll be disappointed in the average burger that could have been great
