I took my vehicle to Carworks because I was experiencing brake problems. On occasion, my brakes…read morewould become so low I'd have to hit the floor with the pedal in order for the brakes to catch and start working again. It didn't happen often but when it did it caused me to nearly rear end people. I left my car with Carworks who stated they would do a diagnostic test and take a look at my brakes and front end to see what the issue was, and that they thought from my information the issue was my master cylinder. From what limited knowledge I have about cars, that is what I believe the issue to be as well. My car was with them from about 1 PM and around 5:30 PM I received a call from them saying they have information from Dodge about a possible recall for this issue and urged me to contact Chrysler. I told them I'd call Chrysler right now and call back immediately. I was told by Chrysler that the recall did not apply to my vehicle. I called Carworks back about 15 minutes later and told them this. I spoke with a different man who told me we will revisit the issue in the AM since they are going to close soon. Now the next day it's almost 11 AM and I did not hear anything about my car. I called for an update and was told with an attitude that "we left it that you were supposed to call me back and you never did" I told him I DID call back, I just spoke with a different employee. From there I was told that they had driven my car a little bit both days and didn't feel the issue I was describing, and that they would replace the master cylinder if I wanted, just based on my description. I was repeatedly told that this was "on speculation only" and they didn't know for sure if that was the problem. Is it not the purpose of a diagnostic test (which I was charged for) to DIAGNOSE the issues at hand? From my knowledge, the master cylinder was never taken out to be looked at to see if there was physical evidence of damage or leakage. I was never told my brakes were looked at either. I am almost positive they drove my car around and called that a diagnostic test. I decided to pick up my car and I called and stated I'd like to cancel the order. Whoever I was speaking to hung up on me when I told him this. I was polite and nice and still talking, wanting to speak further about the whole issue and the man had already hung up after saying "ok." I took my car elsewhere and had a better experience and paid less money for an issue that I feel with confidence is resolved, not based on "speculation only." I don't doubt Carworks knowledge, reputation, and abilities-but I didn't like the attitude I was given.

The warranty company contacted Troy and requested more information and photos, a week later he provided it to them. After receiving the information from Troy, photos etc, the warranty company decided to send out their own inspectors to check this vehicle and found huge inconsistencies. I will add that the timeline from Troy was off by a week. I have the proof for that as well. I picked up the truck. It did not drive well at all. I'm lucky I got it home which I live very close. I sent several emails requesting a refund as well as my meeting with Troy so that I could get it repaired elsewhere. I never received a response until a phone call from the general manager Austin. He was extremely angry and the conversation didn't go well I felt very intimidated. I attempted to get help through other resources and had other mechanics and lawyers view the statements and they did find that the statements were ridiculous for labor, etc. I finally had enough and called Austin and told him I don't want to fight anymore and if you feel that this company did the right thing then they live with that, no legal action as I wanted to which would allow them to speak with Tom Martino but they declined, they had the opportunity to share their side. I most recently received a voicemail from Austin and returned his call, he told me they would be happy to see me in small claims court, granted this is after I told him I'm finished fighting with him. I emailed and requested their attorneys information and have not received it as of today. He had the nerve to ask if I had the truck repaired, I found that very sarcastic. It doesn't matter that my husband is in the Middle East deployed through next year or that there is a government shut down or that I'm not a mechanic. I was trying to get them to do the right thing and they did not. I am not looking for pity. I am looking for justice and I did not get it. I do not recommend Lake Arbor Automotive to anyone. Bill Meining informed me they would clean the grease off and that I could come back to get it. About a week later I returned to Meining to retrieve the skid plate and the tech had put it out to dry by the scrap pile. The scrap guy came by and hauled it off. To this day I have not received a single phone call, text message, or email from Bill Meining or anyone else associated with Meining about this issue. I have personally visited the shop a half a dozen times to request an update on the status. Always being told that they are working on it and will contact me when they have the part. LIES! Meining Automotive lost a part to my vehicle and has made zero attempts to make it right. At this point I would consider a cash payment if the part is really that difficult to locate. But given the utter and complete radio silence, it has become impossible to reach a resolution with them. Avoid this place, they do NOT do right by their customers. You are a simply a number, not a relationship, and completely expendable to them.
