I actually kinda like this place. The kids really like it - so I'm in. Things to know: Pros: It's air conditioned and heated - yet still filled with sunlight from the overhead windows. It's a lot cleaner then the out door variety. It's kind of costly - but then what theme park isn't? If you only plan on being there for a couple of hours just get a set of points. The rides are rated by height so realistically you can figure your points based on the height of your intended riders. They are posted at the park in various locations but they are also available on the website for planning purposes. Cons: The only character we saw was Spongebob and that was for an additional fee. The location being the mall itself can be difficult to navigate - especially if your kids get over excited along the way. read more

The Nickelodeon Universe was by far the dustiest place I have ever seen. It got me to thinking they may not keep up with the rides, since they clearly don't ever clean and dust the large structures. I was apprehensive to let the kids ride, but caved into their begging, for which they were grateful and said they had sooo much fun on the roller coaster! read more

We had an amazing time at this indoor theme park. Tons of rides for all ages, some really thrilling which we were surprised by for an indoor theme park. Take your whole family they will love it. The best deal is the all day wristband for unlimited rides all day. You can also save money when you buy a combo ticket with other attractions. We did a 3 part vlog on our Channel AContheGO. To see our whole experience and to check out some of the rides and tips for when you go to the park, go check it out below. Part 1 - https://youtu.be/txrOJd_ll7Y read more

I like this much better now than when it was Camp Snoopy. My kids forced me to ride with them. I liked the scary rides except Rock Bottom. It is just too much. The one that looks like you're spinning on top of a surf board is thrilling. One kid in line waited to get on the ride. He told the ride operator he needed to calm his nerves first. We bought points instead of a wristband since we wanted to ride rides two days and for just a couple hours. My stomach was churning afterwards. This is a fun place to spend a couple hours but it is super loud with everyone screaming. It is $35.99 for an all day wristband or if you do points, $6 a ride. Pretty good deal. It wasn't too crowded and we waited about 10 minutes in line for the popular rides. It's a pretty good deal and fun. read more

This park made me feel like a 10 year old trapped in a 22-years-old body and I enjoyed every minute of it. We came to MOA on a Friday -- bad idea. Super busy, millions of children, and loooong lines, but what can you expect. We spent our times as the only adults in the lines waiting to see Spongebob, Patrick, and the Ninja Turtles! Came back on a Monday and found that this was definitely a better day to come. Short lines, no large masses of pushy adults and crying kids, and front row seats on every ride! Also, who knew you could cram so many rides and attractions into one area, but NU definitely accomplished that. The roller coasters were super fun! Short, but thrilling. My favorite was the Orange Streak, you get a nice breezy view of the whole park! The bikini bottom and fairly odd parents rides were also really fun. I wish I wasn't in scandals, I would have tried the ropes course and zip line which looked fun as well. NU is a great place to bring the kid out of you again! read more

My kids have the best time here. It's great they have rides for big and small. My visit was a weekday October trip as part of a leisure trip to Mall Of America. It was a slow day. My partner and I were able to walk on all ride with little or no wait--that was a big plus that may not be the case at other times. We bought the all-day wristband that I thought was well worth it. We enjoyed many rides in the afternoon and came back after sundown for another round. It was nice as night because there was little light from the wrap-around mall and the glass roof was not as noticable--all the ride lights were on and it felt as if this indoor park was outdoor. At this time, there was four coasters: a very intense, looping, dive coaster; a medium-intense spinning-car, wild mouse type; a very intense shuttle with spinning cars, and a lengthy coaster (two lifts) that easily wound its way back to the ground. Though these coasters are themed for young kids, only one or two may be tolerable. Teens should be good with all. There was also a fun freefall ride, a good size Ferris wheel, a dark ride, and one of the best log flume rides I've ever been on (of the type feature sigle, in-line logs). Now, this park doesn't come close to traditional, outdoor amusement parks, however, I was pleasantly surprised by everything (including some thrills) packed into this place. Made for kids, but I enjoyed as an adult without kids. read more

Rules of the Ropes! The website lays out all the rules but the staff was of no help. You can't have flip flops or sandals. They do have crocs available to wear but you need socks. The website says they will sell you a pair for $1 but they don't have any. You can't wear a dress or skirt even though the harness is going to pull it all in. (I wasn't the one wearing a dress) After three trips to other MOA establishments for dress adjustments to conform with the requirements the ropes course it was a ton of fun. You even get unlimited use of the 4-story slide after you're done! read more

This is the amusement park housed in the Mall of America. We were there from 3-close on a Saturday. Buying tickets was easy. We ordered online to save a couple of bucks and the printed out the wristband at a kiosk. Our family opted for an all-you-can-ride ticket instead of buying per points. We did the math and figured this was cheaper. The most we spent in line for any ride was 15-20 minutes. Our favorite "thrill" ride was the Avatar Airbender. Lot of tummy tickles. The Spongebob roller coaster was fun, too. It was smooth and didn't jostle you around. What was especially nice was that the park was noticeably clean and well kept. I mean, it's not Disney-clean, but clean. It's also temperature controlled. No standing in the hot sun, sweating or getting rained out. Great temp all around. Great time all around. read more

What can I say... This is an indoor amusement park in a very cool state. It's a great place to bring kids on a cold day during the winter. You have the option of purchasing an unlimited ride wristband or buying tickets with points so you can go on the rides that you are interested in. My favorite ride has always been the roller coaster that goes right through the middle of the park. And every once in a while you might see a bridal party taking a ride on the roller coaster... I saw this a handful of times in the years after the mall first opened. I think the prices are relatively reasonable... But I really do believe that the best value is in that unlimited ride wristband. read more

We have been here four or five times and it is always a good family activity. My husband and daughter ride the rides while I shop. We can meet up for meals and other stuff throughout the day. There is a good variety of rides that have grown with her. She is now 12 and still enjoys it. The lines don't seem too bad. And it is clean and people are friendly. I like the fact that I don't have to pay to be in the park if I am not going to ride. You can also buy tickets online and save some money. It is a good time as you can ride some, shop for a bit, and then go back to rides. With all that is at the mall you don't have to stay in the park to eat, which is so much better than other parks. Also - being indoors is another benefit. read more

Over priced and most of the rides are closed. Take your family camping and pay for amazing food instead of coming here.

What an awesome idea. It was less than $40 for an all day ride band. There was so much to do and see. My granddaughter and I tried to ride everything. All the rides were clean and appeared well maintained. The staff working the rides, were some of the friendless people in the world of amusement parks. read more

This was intense! It's inside of the mall, so I expected it to be small scale. I was incredibly wrong! This is a full scale amusement park with rides and games for all ages. My kids are young so we started with the pictures with Paw Patrol and made our way over to the Blues Clues ride. Lines moved very quickly for a Saturday afternoon and most of the staff seemed eager and willing to help when we needed directions. The skylight lets the sun in so much that you feel like you're outside. Overall, it's a great set up and a way to let the kids expend some energy. read more

My wife and I bought a Sleep Number bed at the Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe had a special. If you bought $250 worth of stuff, you got a free Nickelodeon Universe wristband. We ended up with 12 of them. We were going to go on a Friday night, but the lines were crazy, so we decided to go on Saturday morning, right when it opened. #Edinaproblems. The lines were short and we could walk on and off the rides easily. Our first one was the Ninja Turtle ride. We both loved that one because you could make it as thrilling or smooth as you wanted to. I knew my wife would love it, and she did. It was like an updated version of the classic thrill park spinning swings. There was a surfboard coaster which just went left and right, but super fast. It was my favorite ride. Super Fast! it reminded me of my childhood at Marriot's Great America in California called the Tidal Wave, except that had a loop in it. We tried the Log Ride and we both got soaked. No Good, you get way too wet on that one. A 200 pound guy in the front probably didn't help anything. There is one roller coaster that brings you straight up vertically that was real fun and thrilling and the original coaster that takes you all around the park is always a crowd pleaser. You literally ride straight up a couple hundred feet to start the ride. They know how to make the best use of their space. Overall, I would never pay $32 for an all day pass, but for free, it ruled. Only 10 more wristbands left! read more

They deserve zero stars. My 10 yr old rode the Pepsi Orange Streak and during the ride the lap restraint flew up. Thankfully no one was seated next to her and she was able to slide over into the empty seat next to her under the restraint. I immediately contacted their ride supervisors who examined the photo taken by the ride and dismissed her account of what happened. The older supervisor or ride maintenance man was laughing within earshot of us as we waited in their lounge. I messaged them via Facebook and was assured I would receive a return phone call regarding the incident. It's been approx 4 wks. My child, who loves roller coasters, cried all night and was terrified. If you have a ride malfunction on you, don't expect too much. I guess it would take a death before they give a crap. **see photos read more

I'm here in Minneapolis for a work trip at the Mall of America and I figured I might as well ride a few roller coasters while I'm here just because I can. I paid $27.99 for a Twilight wristband that is good from 5pm on. I rode enough rides to make it worth the money. Nickelodeon Universe is a great little place to take kids. It's clean and the employees were all really nice to me. I docked a star just because you have to buy add-ons to go on certain rides. That's lame. Also the Spongebob Rock Bottom blah blah whatever it's called was terrifying but I went on it twice because it was actually really fun once I got past feeling like a little b-word. Also the second time- I rode the ride with a kid that barely hit the 4 ft height requirement and he made me feel totally pathetic and really brave at the same time. Lol. read more

I was pumped about visiting Nickelodean Universe while we were at Mall of America. I'm still speechless that this place exists - INSIDE a mall. There were kiosks were you could buy tickets/wristbands at but I found it a little confusing still. I was able to get tickets in the gift shop and ask for my clarification on the rides/how many tickets to get. I'm not sure if it was the combination of rides that we did but I was always left with either an odd number of tickets to too little to ride one last ride - not sure if they do that on purpose to get you to buy more but either way, no big deal, I ended up giving my leftover few tickets to a child in line. We rode 3 rides and they were so much fun - the log ride splashes up a bit and the kids seem to love it. None of them are super scary but being on a mild roller coaster while inside can seem a little weird. Staff seem a little bored/irritated/not happy to be there but I didn't expect them to be thrilled. read more

man I would have has a blast here as a kid, this amusement park inside of a mall has everything and anything, from rides to a carnival section where you can play games for prizes, you could literally spend a day at this park by itself, a little bit inconvenient that you have to walk through the mall to get to the park, but so worth it. full of laughs and joy this park is, something everyone old and young should enjoy! read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Nickelodeon Universe. I love that it's there, and when Minnesota is buried in snow, or so humid and hot you can't go outside, you can come and spend a day having some inside fun. I hate that my kid can't go to the Mall of America without constantly asking to go on rides. You can't avoid it, so there's no mall visits without endless discussion of roller coasters. Ok, thoughts... It IS expensive. Look for discounts online or buy your tickets in advance from Costco or Cub Foods... there are ways to bring the cost down a little. I think full price it is about $35 for an all-day wristband. The biggest rides have a height minimum of 48", so if your kid is taller than that, they can ride everything. Some of the rides are surprisingly scary, the Avatar Airbender one... yeesh. It was too much for me. If your kid is under 48", there is still a ton to do. Expect to spend at least 4-5 hours here, longer if it is busy and the lines are long. The earlier you arrive, the better. It is a madhouse mid-afternoon on the weekends. Overall, a lot of fun, but the cost definitely makes it a special occasion type place. read more

I've had two memorable moments occur in this area of the mall: 1) During the Camp Snoopy era, my brother took me on my very first roller coaster ride! It was the green "Pepsi" one. I'm unsure of the official name. 2) In 2010 (during the current Nickelodeon Universe reign), several friends and I became the first people ever to break[dance] battle against the thing that lives in a pineapple under the sea. That thing is Sponge Bob Square pants. Since the Camp Snoopy listing is now closed, I'll elaborate on point #2. Several out-of-town friends and I cut across Nickelodeon Universe to reach the food court. During our stroll, we noticed Mr. Sponge Bob frantically waving at us. We realized he was calling us out, so we decided to battle him. Check out the footage here: http://bit.ly/1tjcSPQ. Even though Sponge Bob Square Pants roasted us, how could I rate this historical awesomeness anything less than four stars? read more

After all the times I visited Mall of America, I finally decided it was time to visit Nickelodeon Universe. As a disclaimer; I didn't ride any of the rides, but I was seriously considering buying passes with my brother and his girlfriend. I was really impressed with how much they fit in this space!! It didn't seem overly crowded, and they offer a variety of rides. From a log ride, a pretty good size coaster, with a zip line and some other kid attractions, I could see myself enjoying this place if I wasn't so damn cheap. You can buy a park pass to ride all the rides, or you can pay for the amount of tickets you'd like to purchase-and redeem those tickets for rides. I believe they do offer a discounted pass if you go in the afternoon. If you're looking to check out the rides prior to buying, you can walk all around the park to see what you might be interested in. There's also nice views of Nickelodeon Universe from various levels near the escalators. Worth checking out at the very least! read more

The first tip I can give, especially for adults riding without children like me, is to do yourself a favor and use the bathrooms inside the mall. There will not be diapers, small children, or a general smell (or at least not as much as inside the park). Now, there is enough time to ride all the rides you need to ride if you just buy a twilight wristband for $20. Children might be a different story, but for adults, this is the best way to enjoy the rides relatively inexpensively. If you want to ride more than one ride, you might as well get a wristband because the pricing is skewed that way. The roller coasters actually are scarier than at Disneyland. There's one Spongebob one that I thought I was going to die on. We didn't hear anyone screaming on the ride, and my friend said that everyone was too busy pooping themselves to be vocal....and he was right. My friends did have a little bit of a (legitimate) scare, though, on the Avatar skateboard ride. They said that the ride attendant "wasn't getting a blinking green light" and LET THE RIDE GO ANYWAY. Uuuuuummmmmm....Glad that this was the last ride of the night. Definitely recommend the log ride and the ferris wheel--what's not to love about a scenic view of American consumerism? Love you, Mall of America. Until next time.... read more

We have come here every year for the last 5 when we visit family. This year they instituted ride open/closure times where rides are only open for 20 minutes every hour. This method caused long lines and a lack of actual riding time. They don't keep the actual times accurate either. This park is now a complete waste of time and money. Was it really worth the cost savings to decrease the pleasure of your guests? I hope you reconsider and change this ridiculous business practice. read more

First time back there in over 8 years! At that time it was called Camp Snoopy! Honestly, I like it better as Nickelodeon Universe! Charlie Brown and Snoopy isn't a cartoon played anymore unfortunately. My son watches Nickelodeon so he got to meet his favorite cartoon characters! The lines were pretty long, but moved along. We got there after 4pm due to visiting the Sea Life Aquarium first. So If it's possible, make two trips and don't try to shop, ride the rides, and visit the aquarium all within the same day! Our trip there felt pretty rushed! I would definitely return someday though! read more

Wow! Great indoor spot for the kiddos when it is cold outside. We took advantage of this spot when we were in Minneapolis in January. Things to keep in mind: 1. There is a coupon book that you can purchase at Customer Service at the Mall of America. I think it is a $5 off coupon for the unlimited ride writeband. So, it's about twenty-five bucks for that. 2. Sometimes people stand around wanting to sell their extra wristbands...look for these peeps! 3. As an adult, if you do not plan on riding anything...you don't have to purchase a band as you get to ride for free with your little one if he/she is not tall enough! As with any amusement park, it gets busy so be prepared to stand in line...especially on the weekends and holidays. read more

I came here on my first trip to MOA. My friends reminisced about the good old days when the place was still Camp Snoopy and how much it has changed, although the reality is nothing but the names changed. The rides were fun, short, but fun. There was nothing too extreme so even the wimpiest riders (like me) can find fun here. That being said it isn't cheap for not that many options. I did have a good time but I don't think I'll do it again. I could see this place being a great reward for a well behaved child, or an adult just looking to destress. Every time I visit the Mall of America I am sure to stop wth my kids at Nickelodeon Universe. There are so many options for fun things to do all centered around Nickelodeon shows and characters. There truly is something for people of all ages. Younger children can jump in a pineapple under the sea and older ones can ride roller coasters. The best part, if you have children under 48 inches but over 42, an adult can ride with them on certain rides for free. General admission is $34.99 for unlimited rides. If you come after 5pm the price is reduced. The lines are relatively short depending on the time of day and the employees seem to do their best to get people on rides as quickly and safety as possible. ***If you order online through Nickelodeon Universe.com you can save $5. I always do this and print out wristbands at the kiosk.*** Another bonus, there are plenty of restrooms located near attractions, places to grab snacks and drinks, and plenty of souvenirs. My kiddos can easily stay and play for hours on end. Check it out! You won't be disappointed. read more

An amusement park inside the biggest mall in America! It's actually more fun than it looks. When I first saw it, I had my reservations because everything looked like it was made for kids. Dora the Explorer with Diego, Jimmy Neutron, Fairy Odd parents, Spongebob, etc. Plus the rides didn't look like they go very high or fast, but since we are here visiting, we took a few rides. We bought 48 points to split between the 3 of us. We rode the Fairy Oddparents and the Air Bender together. Then my 2 friends rode Spongebob while I walked around to check out the other areas of the amusement park. They were all so much fun and proved my initial judgment wrong. If you're in the area, might as well take a look! The fact that it's an amusement park with a lot of rides in the middle of a mall is a sight to see. read more

This is NOT a cheap family outing, but if you go after 5 PM, you can get the unlimited ride wristband for $20. It was a nice treat for my 4-year old, and I was surprised at how many rides were available to her. Since she's under the 42" height requirement for many of the rides, she required a chaperone. Unfortunately, the website information is not clear that the chaperone rides for free, so I ended up buying extra points for me. Not a total disaster as I was able to use the points anyway, but I don't like being tricked into buying more than I need to. Sunday evenings seem less crowded. On most rides we only had to wait through one iteration, and after around 7:30 when people started clearing out she was able to just climb into most of the rides. It doesn't take much, though, for this "park" to get really crowded. The pathways are not that wide, and all it takes is for a couple of strollers and some kids walking abreast to make getting around difficult. The fact that it's set up like a maze is pretty obnoxious too. However, if you asked my daughter, I'm sure she'd give this place 5 stars read more

My daughter is 3 1/2. We went on a Wednesday in early May and it was great. No lines, very few people-she even got to ride the Wonder Pets ride by herself! The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact that there are no character appearances M-Thur during the school year :( I also think it's weird how certain rides are open for 20 minutes at the top of the hour, others for 20 minutes at the bottom of the hour, and others (like Swiper's Sweeper, her favorite!) are open all the time. I went to their website to the "combined rides" section and had it open on my phone-otherwise I would been pretty confused as to what was open and when. Good selection for all ages. Ask for a Toddler Tuesday brochure, regardless of what day of the week. There are coupons in there for kids, including 20% off your entire purchase at a Nickelodeon store and BOGO for Moose Mountain mini golf (kids 5 and under get in there free.) I recommend getting the Unlimited Rides wristband, since you don't know how may times your kids will want to go on certain rides. $10 off for military :) Parents don't have to buy anything, as chaperones on rides are free (and sometimes required, depending on height) unless of course they want to ride the bigger coasters themselves. I'm so glad we went here, my daughter had a blast and we had a blast watching her having so much fun! This is what life is all about, people! read more
