Awesome customer service. My husband and I came to this store with very specific questions about a mower my husband was interested in. It was nothing these fellas couldn't handle. They seemed very knowledgeable and patient, happy to take their time in helping us. While we were in the middle of mower talk, a couple customers entered, but they were staffed well enough to handle multiple customers while not making anyone feel rushed. Superb in every way. I am typically quite skeptical of most businesses and the lackluster service provided but my experience with Nichols Equipment has always been superb. So superb that they really stand out. They've earned my trust and this is the first place I will turn when I need a new mower or additional service for my aging push mower. I have had the same push mower for a decade now, a mower I originally purchased from Nichols. After a decade, the mower is starting to show some wear and tear. I took my mower in to Nichols and had it repaired and tuned up. I received a text stating my mower was ready in just a few days, much earlier than I had expected. When I went in to pick up my mower, I was honestly dumbfounded at how little they charged me. It is simply amazing that they can do all of that work for such a reasonable price. I'll add that each encounter with the staff has been notable because these people are unexpectedly polite, courteous and professional. I hate to stereotype lawnmower repair shops but I've been in a few before where the staff was a little rough around the edges. Not a huge deal because it is a rough around the edges business, but the employees at Nichols go the extra mile to really act in a professional manner. If you are a person that knows very little about lawn care equipment, I am confident the Nichols staff would treat you kindly and with respect. I don't personally know any of the staff or the owner, but please give this store your business. We NEED more businesses like Nichols. They fixed my mower in record time and for a great price. Looking at the invoice, I felt like I had to get out of there quickly before they noticed how much they had undercharged me. First rate, in every respect. Bought a Honda commercial mower from Nichols after much research. Spoke at length with two employees over a couple phone calls before making a final decision. On the day I was pretty sure I'd made a final choice, I went there and spoke with one or two more, then bought it. EVERYONE I spoke with there is knowledgeable! No one needed to go ask someone else for answers. I think there are no rookies working here. From start to finish, I felt I was getting good info from people who know what they are talking about. No one tried to sell me, no one tried to upsell me, in fact to the contrary, at least one rep suggested I was buying something a bit more powerful than needed. Over all the years of buying appliances, cars, stereos, TVs etc., I have to say Nichols is one of the best retail experiences I've had in years. read more

I was referred to Nichol's by an Associate at Home Depot as I was looking for a gasket for a small engine. I called and was professionally greeted. I gave them the part number I found in my owner's manual, less than a minute later, they have it in stock . I've driven Beach Blvd, hundreds and hundreds of times pass their address and could not recall seeing them. I arrive to a clean building that appears well maintained. Parking lot is clean. I walk in and the place is GREAT. Filled with new yard equipment, chainsaws and mowers. The inside is clean, bright and looks really nice, as I tell the guy at the counter. He looks up the part again and returns in about a minute, perfect match and it's made by Briggs and Stratton, not some knock off. I was impressed and will use them again in the future! read more

My only gripe with Nichols is they are all the way across town, a good 30 minutes drive away. They get all my power equipment business, purchases, parts and service. In 20 years of doing business with them they have never failed to correctly repair a machine, overcharged me or gotten angry with me. They have several times repaired a machine on the spot charging only for parts. read more

I recently purchased a Snapper riding mower from Nichols. When I first used the mower, I regretted not having bought a different, slightly more expensive model. They didn't have to work with me, but they were very accommodating. We worked out a deal that was acceptable to both parties. Good family owned business that has been in the same location for as long as I can remember. Easy to get in and out of with ample parking and room to turn around a trailer. I recently purchased a used zero turn mower from an acquaintance.I wanted to swing by and pick up a set of new cutting blades and belts but I didn't know the sizes or model #'s. I knew he always had the machine serviced at Nichols and that they would have a computer service history of the machine. I stopped by and gave them his name and the machine brand and sure enough, they pulled it right up and sold me just the right parts right off the shelf. On another occasion 15 years ago I pulled an old vintage honda walk behind mower out of the trash, maybe a late 70's/early 80's model. It wouldn't start and was pouring gas from the carb. They were able to find me the right carb for that old machine. That machine still starts on the 1st pull to this day, even if it hasn't been ran in a year or more. read more

Very good parts department. I can't review their service department, because I service my own equipment. I do get all my STIHL parts here. They can generally get what you want if they don't have it in stock. You get what you pay for. read more
