State Farm is a great neighbor until you need their help, then you are on your own with half-truths, and misdirection. Will make this short and to the point, as to not drag on about an awful experience. Late 2013 we had a bad storm come through the valley that caused damage to our roof, which then caused damage to the interior drywall. All was well when I called state farm who burst into action and sent over people to begin drying everything out and an adjuster to look over the damage.. Funny enough (Now I know is part of their SOP) State farm found no damage from the storm to the roof (how did water get in) but did say the storm was bad enough to cause rain to blow up underneath the Tiles and cause the leak. Sounds Fishy, but fine, they are the "experts". Here is where Cheuvront Construction comes into the action, their "trusted" contractor; State farm sends them to do the work, which was fine by me, as I haven't the time to track down contractors, and I felt good knowing they were a "trusted" contractor of State Farm. While there they check the roof and say they find one spot that they think may have been a part of the leak, which was weird since state farm said they saw no damage, so we pay OUT OF OUR POCKET to Cheuvront Construction to fix what they see may be a cause of the damage. State farm is made aware of this and we move on.. Come 8-3-14.. Another bad storm and the leak appears again, so I call state farm who says to call Cheuvront Construction and that they'll send out an adjuster.. Adjuster finds no damage this time, and cannot explain the leak (awesome) while Cheuvront Construction now says that we need a new roof (without coming to look at it), so we need a new roof per state farms "trusted' contractor, but according to state farm there is no damage.. No loss paid out.. This goes on twice more with the same result. State farm won't hold their "trusted" contractor responsible, and they claim no damage, which is strange since before that bad storm the roof was fine when it rained. Fast forward to present day, state farm just cancelled our policy, and the only answer I have received is that our insurance isn't good enough anymore, or something to that effect. After being informed of this I call the office, then attempt to contact them via email through state farms own website, which In the past I used when adding coverage (funny they responded immediately then) All in all this was a horrific experience stemming from Cheuvront Construction, state farms trusted/guaranteed contractor, being involved in our repairs, and claims adjusters who see no storm damage from storms powerful enough to drive rain up a slope and under the tiles... Bravo, guys! You have shown me what horrific customer service truly is. So now I have to get new home owners Insurance, and they won't even help provide the docs I need to get new coverage.. So not only did they "miss" the damage that their own contractor fixed, but they also would not hold their contractor or selves accountable to correct the mistake. mind you, this isn't some upset guy on a rampage, I have Life insurance, auto, and personal article policies with state farm to this day, but that will change now that I have been told kick rocks and sorry but we cannot even supply one document necessary for you to get coverage.. A document every other insurer has said they would supply in the same scenario. I even spoke with an underwriter from State Farm who let me know to file a grievance with the executive claims department, but that there was nothing rake she could do. There was a nice young lady at this office by the name of Tiana, who absolutely did try to help in getting me some docs, but State Farm as a whole failed me in the most horrific manner. Although I know it won't make a bit of difference, I've file with the BBB on the agency, the contractor, and State Farm corporate withy hope it's helps even one person avoid this abortion. If anyone is looking for insurance, I had a local Allstate & Geico agent bend over backwards to get me insured, even with all this mess going on. I even saved $4 a month on my premium with the company I chose. read more

I accidentally fell upon a poor review on this site written about my insurance agent, Nichole Schaffer. I was completely shocked and felt I needed to add a different point of view that I feel would be a much better representation of Nichole and her entire staff. I have been a customer of Nichole's and State Farm's since shortly after she began her agency more than 7 years ago. I have had nothing but a positive experience with Nichole and her staff during every encounter. Throughout the few claims I have gone through with State Farm over the years, I have always received superb service from claims adjusters, staff in Nichole's office, and Nichole. I understand that an Agent has many responsibilities when it comes to running an office which is why they hire a competent staff to assist in the running of the office. Because there are several MORE than competent employees working in Nichole's office, I feel confident any one in the office can handle most any need of mine that arises. In the event that I need Nichole's assistance, she has always responded to me in a timely manner. Nichole and her staff are professional, friendly, and whether it's Nichole or another member of her team someone is always available when I need them. The writer of the other review was obviously only with NIchole for a very short time and in that short time was involved in 2 car accidents. The person is obviously not a very safe driver and probably did State Farm and Nichole a favor by leaving so quickly. Take the word from a long time customer if you are reading these reviews when trying to make a decision about your insurance agent. I have referred many friends and family members to Nichole over the years and to date all have only had a positive experience with her and her staff. In fact, my dad recently left Nichole to save some money thinking it really wouldn't make a difference who carried his insurance. Unfortunately, soon after switching to another insurace agency, he had to file a claim. Not only did he receive terrible service throughout the claim, but his rates increased dramatically from a claim that was not even his fault. He quickly went back to Nichole and is extremely happy to be back with State Farm and Nichole Schaffer's office. I would like to rave about this State Farm agent based on my road side assistance needs the other day. I do not have AAA and have thought about getting it but never have because I did not want to spend the extra money. I went into Michael's craft store the other day and came out 10 minutes later and had a completely flat tire. It was 105 degrees outside and I had 3 kids with me and they were hungry because it was lunch time. I was frustrated because I had just bought the tires 2 months prior. I decided to call Nichole Schaffer's agency where I had my insurance and ask them if I happened to have roadside assistance. I called and they looked up my account. I had road side assisance! Nichole's employee immediately called roadside assistance for me because she knew that I was stressing and wanted me to taken care of immediately. Within 5 minutes of hanging up the phone with Nichole's agency I got a call from roadside assistance that they would be out in 45 minutes. While I was waiting for road side assistance to get there I got 3 phone calls updating me on the wait time. From the time that I called Nichole's agency to the time that I had my spare time put on was 45 minutes!! I was so impressed and was able to be on my way and feed the kids in no time! This proved to me that this agent is here for you for whatever you need!! I have had no accidents (knock on wood) where I have had to file a claim but I am very confident that I will be taken care of very well. I would highly recommend that everyone use this agent. I have been with Nicole about seven years now and have found the office to be extremely helpful and diligent. I would give them 5 stars but my auto rates keep increasing despite a perfect driving record and my cars getting older (less valuable).
