In the middle of that uncertainty and grief, Dr. V showed up with compassion. Even though he was busy, he made the time to speak with me and, more importantly, he continued to check in on me. That level of care is rare and meant more than words can fully express. Beyond being incredibly professional and thorough, he is a genuinely kind and compassionate human being who understands what it means to support someone through pain and uncertainty. I will forever be grateful for his care. I recommend him to the sky and beyond. In a world where compassion can sometimes feel scarce, Dr. Vedantham is truly a godsend.

He recognized what I needed right away, and starting the right medication truly changed my life. I came to him in a very dark place, to the point where my mental health was affecting my ability to function. Today, I'm stable, productive, and genuinely happy. What also made a huge difference is that he's always responsive. He doesn't leave you hanging or add to your anxiety with delays or excuses. When I've reached out in crisis, I felt heard and supported every time. I'm incredibly grateful to have found him. He helped me get my life back, and I would absolutely recommend him.

I've been a patient of Dr. Barth for 6 weeks now and I cannot say how happy I am. Initially, I was…read moredepressed and had been taking sleeping pills (Zolpidem) for 2 years. After being on sleeping pills for so long, I decided to try CBT and I will admit, I didn't think it would work on me since we all tend to think negatively from time to time. I chose Dr. Barth based on reviews and decided to make the 90 mile drive to Oakland. After my second visit, we continued to meet via FaceTime which was a PLUS! For me, my insomnia and depression improved after approximately 3-4 weeks after my initial session with Dr. Barth. Prior to meeting him, I had been weaning off Zolpidem for a week. I am now able to fall asleep fairly fast and stay asleep for most of the night, drug-free!!! In the past, I would try to wean off on my own, or not take my pills but I had no success. I would fall asleep around 0300AM and wake up before 0600AM. The first few weeks were tough since part of the "program" requires you to go to bed at a certain time (or try), and wake up at the same time every day. The $ I spent on my therapy is worth the results! I am now back to doing my daily activities and sleeping about 50% better. This is the first time I seek treatment with a Psychologist, but overall, my experience with him has been a positive one in many ways. My therapy is coming to an end soon, but I feel confident that I will continue to progress and apply what I have learned during this process. If you find yourself desperate, or to the point that you are ready to start therapy for depression, insomnia or other issues you may be facing, do it with someone who has years of experience. Before choosing Dr. Barth, I googled many therapists who specialized in CBT. I searched for 4 months. I live in Modesto which is a fairly large city, and many therapists are in my area, but based on reviews or first impressions I got visiting other websites/reviews I decided that if I was going to spend my time and money on therapy, I wanted to put my trust on the best one out there. Like most of us, I didn't have the extra money to be spending visiting therapists that I felt may not be the best fit for me. I mean no disrespect to any professionals in this area, but in the times we live now, most of our costly purchases or investments we make, are based on reputation or reviews.

Dr Bechelli has been a great help over the last year…read more The first meeting in-person was a professional interview and set a good tone for when i moved to online meetings, which was a great adjustment as i lived far away. I believe feeling understood is the most crucial and challenging part of adjusting to a new psychiatrist, and Dr Bechelli has made continued effort to do so until this day. When i transfered to his psychiatric care from another institution I needed to release my medical information to inform him about my situation. The communication between doctors was well-managed and contextualized my situation for him to personalize the prescription approach. I felt that they managed it well without me needing to mediate in the slightest, which thankfully didn't add more responsibility to my plate while i was recovering from a crisis. 3 reasons for my one star rating…read more 1. When I wanted to get off of the medication Shane prescribes, he told me I could taper down over 1 week. Through this experience, I learned that this is absolutely not safe. The withdrawal symptoms I experienced were almost unbearable, like nothing I have ever experienced. Through my own extensive research, I learned the importance of tapering slowly and found support elsewhere. Shane is not at all knowledgable about getting off of the medication he prescribes. Furthermore, he prescribes medication with no plan to get off of it. It is not a short term solution with hope for recovery. 2. Shane prescribed me medication during our first session. He didn't recommend any other natural therapies. In my opinion, doctors should attempt to treat patients with less harmful methods. Psych drugs are shown to have unpleasant side affects, long term harm, withdrawals, and even to shorten your life. None of this was disclosed to me. Shane also prescribed me xanax over a 5 minute phone call, so if you are drug-seeking, this may be the perfect doctor for you. 3. After following Shane's advice to taper over 1 week, I was having an out of body experience. I could no longer sleep or eat and my days were filled with panic attacks. I was unable to get a hold of him. His mailbox was full (so unprofessional). When we did talk, he told me this was my original condition resurfacing. Bullshit! I originally had anxiety. Not diarrhea, nausea, insomnia, panic, and suicidal ruminating thoughts. Dr Shane is a nice person and probably unaware of the harm he is doing. Please remember that these doctors get paid extra to prescribe medication. They hold deals with particular drug companies so they are much more likely to prescribe those drugs. My hope is that doctors who prescribe psych drugs, like Shane, take the time to keep up with current research and are able to disclose the realities about these drugs so that people like me can understand the implication of taking them.
