Contrary to the understandably bad experience that Michael M had with Nice Pebbles, our experience was very good. We rented one of their listed apts in Nice for a week during our April 2013 vacation in southern France, and the experience was nearly perfect. The 1BR apt was clean and beautiful and less expensive than a comparable hotel suite would have been. The description and pictures on their website were accurate and we encountered no problems. We had a few questions, which their rep responded to promptly by phone. My wife did have a few minor maintenance issues with the place, which I now don't remember because they were not critically important. We would definitely use their services again. The quality was there and their screening process ensures a nice, well-equipped place to stay. I am frankly surprised by the dispute with Michael M. My wife's boss used their services on a family vacation and also had a good experience, which is why she recommended them to us. BTW, their complimentary paperback guide book to Nice and the French Riviera was excellent and contained useful comments about the area's attractions, restaurants, and transportation alternatives. read more

AVOID! I recently stayed in a Nice Pebbles apartment and it was a pretty terrible experience overall. I imagine if everything goes well then they are OK but when things go wrong the customer service is horrible. I stayed in an apartment that had faulty air con, no smoke alarm and the fire escape didn't open. They moved us to a different apartment after 2 days but when I asked for compensation for the inconvenience and my phone bill to sort out the mess I spoke with the Managing Director - she was unreasonably rude! Needless to say I will be avoiding using them when I got back to Nice. I only wish I had read the first couple of reviews here and I would have avoided them altogether. read more

DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH THEM. I have had a very unfortunate experience with Nice Pebbles that ultimately required me to engage in very testy, uncomfortable emails with one of their owners and required me to seek redress from my credit card. These people are not worthy of your patronage and I can only imagine what types of headaches that could cause if you were not satisfied with your accomodations. Here's what happeted. We found Nice Pebbles through using our Lonely Planet book and then looked on their website and saw one place in particular that was right in the area that we wanted to stay. My girlfriend sent Nice Pebbles an email asking if that particular property would be available on three specific days in late July. The next morning, my girlfriend received an email stating that the property was not available for those days, and that a couple others were available. As we were not interested in any of those properties, we decided to move on and book a hotel in Nice through another company. Much to my surprise, I checked my credit card the following week and noticed a charge of $856. Apprently, as we learned later, the owner of Nice Pebbles was confused that we were booking the room on my credit card, but putting my girlfriend's name down as the main contact. My girlfriend called Nice Pebbles and received a telephone call back from one of their owners. As my girlfriend wasn't home, and person left a voicemail. In her voicemail, she stated that "most people are intelligent enough to realize that this was a mistake" and that we should have known that the apartment wasavailable. How were were to know this, I don't know. But, that's besides the point -- they are in the business of running their properties and making sure they are booked correctly, not me. What makes this worse, however, is that my girlfriend then decided to email the owner asking that she refund the money because we took her email to mean what it said, that the apartment was not available, and we then went ahead to book another hotel which costs about $1000 for three nights. The owner then responded that under no circumstances would she refund our money. Even though I responded and explained to her that we received an email from her telling us the room was booked, and we relied on that email to book another hotel, she still refused to give us our money back! And, what's more, this was a few weeks before were traveling to Nice, and she had more than enough time to rent the apartment to someone else (it was July in Nice, a time when many tourists visit)! In the end, my credit card refunded all of my money. But, not before this woman left a miserable voicemail with my girlfriend, proceeded to engage in a snotty email exchange with me and her, and despite us having an email from her telling us the room was booked. It was an insane process, and not one that was relaxing at all (something which travel should always be). I wanted my trip to Nice to be perfect, and this woman made it difficult. I want you all to know that you should proceed with caution when using this company -- they have proved to me that, despite what Lonely Planet said about them, they are very rude people who will do anything to take your money, even if it involves creating a warped view of reality. read more

Well, first all, this is the owner of Nice Pebbles writing -- and she gives herself five stars. Second, look at what she has wrote. Do you really want to stay at a place owned by someone this vindictive and unreasonable? Third, the credit card company rightly did not charge my credit card because you sent me an email saying the room we inquired about was booked. read more

We have stayed in several of the beautiful apartments that Nice Pebbles offers. Every apartment has met the description and pictures on their website. They have all been very comfortable and included amenities like flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher and washing machine. If you are staying for a longer period of time, a Nice Pebbles apartment is really very affordable compared to a hotel room and will provide you with so much more space and will also give you the opportunity to live like a local. The booking procedure as well as the handover of keys have been very smooth every time. And if any problem should arise during your stay you can rely on immediate response. In short, a perfect way to enjoy a pleasant and carefree stay in Nice. read more

Nice Pebbles has literally hundreds of apartments in the Riviera. Their websites are easy to use, and each apartment has so much information on the website; it can make your head spin! I love the Prefecture apartment; it's so classy and comfortable. The staff all speak English, which is really helpful if your French isn't perfect. The whole booking process is online too, which made it easy for me to book from Australia because I didn't have to wait for their office to open which would have been hard because of the time difference. With the exception of Michael's review below, (which could be a case of poor communication leading to confusion?) they seem to have overall good reviews. I found Pebbles through the Holiday Lettings website, and there are heaps of reviews on there too which helped me choose the apartment I wanted for my holiday in Nice. read more

My experience with Nice Pebbles started well, but unfortunately my experience took a drastic change at the very end and I was left sorely disappointed at their handling of the events. I am an overseas property buyer, and have been working with Nice Pebbles Sales for around 18 months, trying to find my ideal buy to (holiday) let apartment. Whilst communications tended to generally be slow and sometimes lacking entirely (prior to one viewing visit, I couldn't get a response at all until the day before I flew out, and I actually thought Nice Pebbles had gone into liquidation!), but generally the experience was good and they helped me find my ideal property. However, at the very last stage of my purchase, when I flew to Nice to collect my keys and get my furniture set up, it all fell apart. My Sales Agent had unfortunately forgotten to leave my keys for collection, so I was stranded for 3 hours on my own on a Saturday night, with my luggage, and 6 months pregnant. That was unfortunate, but hey, mistakes happen, so I was willing to overlook it as long as long as it was sorted. However, when the sales agent did eventually come out with the keys, and despite knowing the situation and that I was 6 months pregnant, on my own, and obviously with luggage, I wasn't even offered a lift to my new apartment (which was only 5-10 minutes drive away), and I was left to get the bus. Not exactly tremendous customer service! When I did finally arrive at my apartment, I had to unpack my furniture which the agent had very kindly agreed to liaise with the 2 delivery companies about, to ensure that everything was delivered prior to my visit. Given I was in the UK, this was a huge help to me and I was of course very grateful for their help. This included the sofa bed that I was intending to sleep on that evening. Unfortunately, yes, you've guessed it, after unpacking everything, I realised that there was no sofa bed, and one of the 2 deliveries was missing! By this point I was very tired, I'd had a very emotional day, I was over 3 hours behind schedule due to the key issue, and at past 11pm it was too late to get a hotel. I therefore spent my first night in my new apartment sleeping on the floor, and at 6 months pregnant, it was very uncomfortable. I booked a hotel for the subsequent night and the rest of my stay, and emailed my sales agent to explain what had happened and ask that she contacts the delivery company asap on the Monday to find out where it was and arrange delivery asap whilst I was still in the country. I was expecting sincerest apologies for this mistake, and the situation that I was therefore left in, with an offer of at least covering the cost or part of, the hotel cost, and taking delivery of the second delivery, but the response I received was one that honestly couldn't have cared less and refused to help. I was very disappointed with the responses received, especially as I was left with a big mess to sort out, with just a couple of days left of my visit to do it in, and whilst 6 months pregnant too. I thought the way in which the situation was handled, both by the Sales Agent, and the CEO who got involved, was absolutely appalling. If I gave my clients customer service like they did, I would be sacked. Unfortunately these last few days absolutely ruined what had otherwise been a pretty reasonable experience, and to make matters worse, the CEO has refused to remove my positive testimonial from their website, which I'd written prior to this experience. Be very careful if you work with this company, as they promise things which they don't follow up on and then refuse to help fix them. read more

We stayed at Sea Breeze for a week in early May. The apartment is located on the Promenade overlooking the Mediterranean and about 2.5 klm from the old town. The apartment itself is beautiful, well laid out, with everything you need for a wonderful stay, the only thing missing is a dishwasher. The rooms are very big with plenty of storage and very clean. The downside is the traffic noise which makes sitting outside almost unbearable. To make things worse there is major construction going on, so unless you keep your windows shut it is not at all peaceful and relaxing. In front of the apartment is a bus stop so getting around is fairly easy. There are several grocery stores and pastry shop close by, unfortunately there is only one restaurant within easy walking distance. We rented through Nice Pebbles and though no major complaints we were somewhat disappointed. We were late arriving due to problems with the train and we kept texting the rep to tell her of our progress, and she kept asking how long will you be? As I had never taken the train before nor was I the engineer driving the train I had no idea. When we arrived she gave us a very perfunctory introduction. She was mainly concerned that we had the right password for the internet and the page showing pictures of the light bulbs. We did have an issue with the shower, the controls tend to jam when hot, and on the second day the shower head fell off whacking me on the head. They did fix it on Monday and after that all was well, though they never did ask about my poor noggin. Other minor beefs were only two bath towels for a week and a lack of some very basic necessities such as washing up liquid and toilet tissue. A grab bar in the show would be nice as well as anti slip backing for the rugs in the bedrooms as they are a major slip hazard. We are going a rating of 4 out of five but 3.5 stars would be a better reflection mainly because of the noise. In summary if you like a well appointed apartment overlooking the sea, and can put up with the noise they you should stay here. read more

Below is the information we sent to the credit card company dispute resolution department after the guest disputed the charge on his credit card. Contrary to what the reviewer states, the credit card company upheld the charge in our favour. My emails to the legal department of Yelp have not yet been responded to. I have notified them of legal action. In the meantime, I trust the below (and any supporting documentation that anyone would like to receive, if they are interested, is available if you wish to email me. The posting is untrue. I have been unable to respond as a business owner due to a glitch in the system. The guests booked to stay with us by their credit card on the 4 July 2012. After booking they automatically (within five minutes of placing the booking) received the automated confirmation of booking from our computer system. The booking was for a stay with us at our Neptune apartment and the dates reserved were the 25 July - 28 July 2012. Since this was three weeks away, our cancellation policy is that no refund will be given. Please see our terms and conditions (exhibit 4). As explained in Exhibits 1 & 3 and not disputed by the cardholder in 2, it would appear that before booking the guest enquired to see if the apartment was available by an email to the office. The email was sent at 1.45am on Tuesday 3rd July. Not waiting for an answer from the office, they used our on-line system to book. When we were wading through our 200 plus emails the next morning, there was an email from the Cardholder enquiring about availability. We checked on our system, and it was not available and we answered to say it wasn't available. Unbeknown to us, it wasn't available because the Cardholder had booked it overnight. We believe any reasonable guest would understand that with a confirmation and with making the booking on line, the apartment could of course not be available. Even if there was a slight misunderstanding, an email or phone call to the office would have cleared things up. There was no need to book accommodation elsewhere, and indeed, we doubt they had at that stage or at all. We think this is simply a guest changing their mind and using this as an opportunity to try and cancel. We did nothing wrong and were happy to accept the booking. We also did not charge the arrival money that technically we are entitled to charge as a good will gesture. read more

I recently stayed in the 'Prom Garden' apartment with Nice Pebbles. We booked it pretty last minute online and the whole process was very seamless. Alice on reception helped us choose the apartment and was very helpful. We were also met at the apartment by a friendly staff member. We chose the apartment because we wanted to have more space than a hotel room and also some space outside to enjoy the weather. Although the apartment was small, there was everything we needed plus a very pleasant garden at the front which although noisy during the day with traffic was calmer at night. All in all we had a very good stay and even though the apartment was out of centre we were able to get in easily by bus or even walk down the Promenade. read more

Having a good time here at the Dior apartment. I booked this apartment last minute and was so pleased when I arrived to find a very clean and comfortable apartment. I'm on the 6th floor with a balcony so get to enjoy the morning sun with a coffee in the morning. The apartment is very well located next to the Nice Etoile shopping centre and I'm about a 10 minute walk from the beach and old town. The air conditioning is very welcome too as it's quite hot at the moment. The only negative is that the bedroom is a bit too bright in the morning and could do with a better curtain. Other than that the place is perfect for what I need. Thanks Pebbles! read more

Nicepebbles is responsable for the "most horrible experience" i ever made. They canceled a fully paid (!) booking via email exactly 30 min before we should meet at the apartments address. Why? Just because. Yes exactly, just because! Because their staff are very rude, unprofessional and ignorant people how don't give a shit about their clients. Made a website about my expirience with them: nicepebbles-warning(dot)com read more
