I started putting quarters into the slot. The $5.75 did not go down. I pressed the coin return button- no results. I knocked on the office door-no answer. I called. It rang and rang, so I left a message. Did they call back? Of course not. Would it kill them to to come out with a key to open the coin receceptacle? Evidently it would. Shame on you.

I had to launder a larger sized duvet/comforter that doesn't fit in my washing machine, so I came…read moreto Johns Island Coin Laundry. They have a variety of machines. The prices, as of 5 August 2026, are as follows: $3.50 for a double load; $5.00 for a triple load; $9.00 for a 6x load; and $12.00 for an 8x load. Dryers are 25¢ per 4 minutes, I think. The reason I say "I think" is that I had to switch dryers multiple times. The first dryer didn't accept coins at all. I moved my duvet/comforter to the dryer next to it, and it seems to have accepted only 1 coin (possibly 2), and spit the other coins out. However, there is so much lint and crud in the return slot that the coins wouldn't pop out and I had to use a key to pull them out. Then it wouldn't release the coin(s) that had been accepted, so I was stuck with that dryer for the 8 minutes it gave me. I put the dryer on high (to get the most bang for my buck) and waited until it stopped. Finally, I switched my duvet/comforter to a third dryer, which accepted all the rest of my coins except one, which got stuck again. I had to press the release button multiple times before it would pop out. I took that coin and re-deposited it, giving me a total of 24 minutes. I had 6 quarters to begin with. 32 total minutes of dryer time divided by 6 coins = 5.333 minutes per coin. Weird. And this is why I'm guesstimating it's about 4 minutes per quarter. But who really knows? (The other possibility is that it is 8 minutes per quarter and the dryer(s) stole 2 of my coins). Overall, this laundromat is decent. It's quiet, not terribly busy, the patrons keep to themselves, and they have a variety of sizes of washers. The dryers leave a bit to be desired, but they work well enough. Three stars. Would use again. Just not dryers # 6 or 7.

I was there at 6:30 this morning cuz I knew that the AC would still be off, last weekend it was absolute horrible. Of course the doors were open, The AC is not broken. They honestly turned it off, I understand how electricity bills. I do get that. However it is very uncomfortable to go in trying to do your laundry when the AC is off. Honestly, the fans do not work like they should either Now mind you this is not a complaint. This is simple frustration, it's bad enough we have to go to the laundromat at all to wash our clothes. Although I am grateful that I can go, however, it shouldn't be so difficult for the simple things. Frustrating to say the least.

I used Sea Island Suds as a drop-off laundry service three times while I was waiting for my…read moreapartment to be ready. There's not much to say about them, other than that you drop off your laundry, they wash and fold it, and you pick it up. 'nuff said. They're quick, and turn around your laundry in about eight hours, and don't charge extra to hang up shirts or pants. Unfortunately, they don't iron, but that's fine, I could take care of that in my hotel. So, here's the question you ask yourself - For two loads of laundry, do you spend $4/load for wash and dry, plus sit in a crappy laundromat, or do you drop your laundry off, spend $16, and have everything taken care of. I know what I'd choose, again and again.
