I had an absolutely terrible car buying experience here…read more I bought a 2010 Subaru Outback from here with about 118,000 miles on it. I paid 9,500 for the car, plus 750 for licensing fees. Less than a week after buying the car I found out that it needed new head gaskets. I brought it back to the dealer and the owner offered to fix it and asked me to pay 500 dollars towards the fix. I agreed and he told me it would be ready in 2-3 weeks. The car wasn't ready for almost 2 months after that. It took weeks for the parts to arrive and once the parts arrived his in-house mechanic completely botched the job and it had to be entirely redone by a different mechanic. The dealer gave me a loaner car to use durng this time which was nice, however I had to jump start it multiple times. Eventually the head gaskets were replaced and I got the car back about 4 months ago. The dealer wanted me to pay an extra 250 on top of the 500 that I already agreed to pay which I think is absurd. I declined the extra 250, paid the 500 dollars, and got the car back. Less than a week after getting the car back the check engine light came on and the thermostat had to be replaced (450 dollars). Since then I have also had to replace the control arms (600 dollars), the sway bar (550 dollars), and the entire CV axle (930 dollars). I've had the car for about 4 months and have had to pay 3000 dollars in repairs, which is absolutely ridiculous when I bought the car for 9500. Not only that but the communication skills of this dealer were absolutely terrible. Any time I wanted an update on the status of my car I had to call them several times. The dealer called to update me ONCE, and that was only after I explicitly told him to call me. I appreciate that the dealer replaced the head gaskets and gave me a loaner car but those are basically the only things they did right. I would strongly recommend buying a car somewhere else.

Just a warning buying anything with higher mileage from the lot last year during the summer we…read morepurchased what I believed to be very nice Yukon XL it had 117,000 miles on it which my husband was wary of it being a little high but we read these vehicles were pretty reliable and I really liked the vehicle. We added a warranty and thank goodness he did things immediately went bad. Within a week, the car was thunking and shifting very rough. I had noticed this on the test ride, but was assured it was just "the way those cars drive" I should have left right there as that was a complete lie. Also when I asked if they could gas it up before we took it off the lot he laughing told me "no not for the price you got it" like we were getting some deal of a lifetime which I will quickly prove why that's EXTRA insulting. Chad very nicely did pay to get the torque converter fix and I very much appreciated that except for one detail that I will point out later. Over the next year, the car continued to have very severe electrical and mechanical problems, leaving me and my children's stranded MULTIPLE times and spending more time in multiple shops across whatcom County then it spent in my possession I am listing everything we had to do to keep it on the road; a new transmission, new ball joints, differential leak, gigantic oil leak, motor mounts, new keys, leaking headlight, ignition switch, battery, alternator, brakes, rotors and new tires. ALL WITHIN 7 MONTHS!! Even with all these repairs it STILL had a list of things it needed, from the day we took it it literally never stopped needing something, we would get it back and it would return 2 weeks later with a new problem. The reason I am now not appreciative of the original torque converter replacement was I was told by a very reputable shop that they would never just replace a torque converter and that was just to cover up that the transmission was completely bad and obviously that was true as the transmission did not hold up even a month after the torque converter was replaced. Before attacking me, I completely understand that used vehicles are a risk and it is completely on me that I should've had the vehicle more closely inspected, but I did trust this car lot and I thought at least their inspection process was a little bit more honest than this proved to be. from everything that needed to be done to the vehicle it is obvious it was severely neglected and then put on their lot to be sold with no concern for anyone who would have it in the future. I am out literally thousands of dollars on vehicle repairs & towing bills, not to mention tons of inconveniences and at risk safety instances so after having enough, we went and traded it in for a completely brand new car, but it's just ridiculous It had to come to that. when my husband went back to try to get the remainder of the warranty back we were quickly informed we weren't owed anything and not given as much as even a "sorry" for all our troubles. I will be keeping all the documentation, receipts, towing bills, etc to remind myself NEVER to buy another used car. Just please bring a mechanic to inspect if you are considering this lot.

We bought a wonderful Gen3 2000 Toyota 4Runner! We bought it sight-unseen, being AZ residents and had it shipped to us. Tim closed the deal in 20 minutes on the phone, offering me a good price on a 1-owner low-mileage CA titled vehicle. He texted me copy of the PO, title and photos of matching VIN # in 2 places, etc. I needed to feel safe in wiring money. I then did a WA State license check and found their auto-reseller business license to be in good order with the state. They sent title and paperwork 2-day FedEx. I went to the AZ MVD and it turned out, I was missing a final title reassignment. It was difficult due to a CA title to CA business to WA business to AZ resident! With a few simple texts, they sent me the reassignment form AZ MVD asked for, again by 2-day FedEx. They charged a minimal doc fee considering. Tim also suggest a shipping broker that got me connected to a carrier in 2 days, at a price hundreds less than the uShip quote. We received the 4Runner one week after purchase and titled it the next day! I've read some negative reviews here and I cannot believe them; maybe posted by local competitors. You know how many dealers shine up the tires and then claim good tread? Sometimes they fail to mention how old they are when selling an old car. We got a wonderful surprise with this one. The dealer only mentioned Michelin tires and yes, they were shined up in the pictures. A day after we got the truck, I climbed under the front tire to check the date codes, which translated to May 2018. So, as a bonus we received our 4Runner with $1000 worth of brand new Michelins on board. You can trust these guys, buy sight-unseen and get what you pay for! Thank you Tim and the Wiser Motors team!

I can't say enough good things about Armstrong Family Autocare without sounding like a paid…read morepromoter or something, but believe me, this was an OUTSTANDING car repair experience!! Be honest: how many mechanics have you dealt with who actually aim to reduce the cost of the service?! Alex did!! My old '99 Voyager was acting wonky; it would start but then some components would work while others wouldn't.. one day the windows operated, but the wipers or heater fan wouldn't; the next day NONE of them worked; the next day they all worked fine.. and so on and so on Got a brand new top-of-the-line Napa battery.. didn't help .. so then I had the alternator tested by 3 different places who all said it had a bad diode, so I reached out to a few companies here, got quotes, and Armstrong's was the most reasonable price (plus nearby my place) so I brought the Voyager in, crossing my fingers that some unknown -expensive- additional work wouldn't be urged on me, as I've frequently experienced with other repairs Long story short, Alex told me it actually wasn't the alternator being bad, it was the ignition switch, and I gotta be honest and say I was hugely skeptical because the other companies had advised me to get a new alternator, why would they recommend it if it wasn't the problem? ...but I decided to trust Alex, and the repair cost was literally HALF the cost of replacing the alternator (which was already a very reasonable price!) But this morning was the iron test: would everything work like it did when I picked up my vehicle? IT SURE DID --the wipers, the windows, the heater fan ALL WORKED AT THE SAME TIME!! That hasn't happened in forever! LOL This review is getting long but I wanted to share the deets because frankly, given the symptoms, the tests AND my belief in the test results... Alex could have very easily done the cheaper ignition repair but said nothing and charged for the more expensive alternator replacement that I was asking for -and I wouldn't have known the difference and would've just been happy to have things working- but he was honest and upfront and didn't take advantage of my ignorance.. like other shops around here have done or tried to do to me in the past How awesome is THAT?!
