This is the main library in NF NY. The building is a work of art. A must see piece of architecture!

This library is a gem for the LaSalle community. While not very big, you can definitely find…read moresomething good to read. They have an excellent used book selection for sale on a regular basis. Books, magazines, movies, etc. The prices are the best as well.

Libraries . They are just so vital to a community and I feel they are too often taken for granted …read more With funding cuts , we are seeing a decrease in the operating hours which saddens me . The LaSalle public library is located on Buffalo Ave in NIagara Falls . The building itself is beautiful . The library is immaculate, you can tell the staff take pride in what they do . This is not a large library , but does have a respectable selection of books and dvds . The children's book section is well stocked and I feel all children should have the experience while we are still fortunate enough to have local libraries . The second floor has some study rooms and computer rooms they are quiet and spacious . There is a nice enclosed "quiet" study room as well . I love all the old woodwork, just beautiful . I often visit to have a quiet place to do some work and appreciate having the perfect space so close to home . Hours have recently changed so you May want to call for the latest hours of operation . There is a children's computer room as well on the first floor with I believe three computers . Fun fact : scenes from the movie "Marshall" were filmed here .

Hi I just wanted to…read moresay a couple of things. As a regular customer of the library on Victoria Avenue. I was there today March 24 at 11:15am your 2 millenial females with dark hair glasses and ponytails were sitting at the desk by the computers. They were gossiping about customers. Saying how they don't know the person but they feel like they are.... I went up to your dark hair guy at the desk by the front. He had glasses and a red sweatshirt. He refuses to do anything about it. He says I stand behind my coworkers. All I asked was for the behaviour to be more professional. Another blonde lady with glasses ( she was about my age. I'm 49) she hears the conversation and goes over to the desk and tells the millenial lady working about my complaint. I then hear the millenial lady say well you know she's a....the lady stops her and says, we should avoid saying anything else cause she might come over and yell at us. See this why people don't feel comfortable coming to the downtown library anymore. I've worked in Customer service the last 30 years of my life. I don't understand why employees in a Library get to behave so rudely?? At any of my jobs we would have been fired for it Please teach your staff some professionalism

I can't say enough about how wonderful and helpful. The women are here when dealing with a passport…read moreapplication. They take the time to thoroughly explain everything they're very friendly very helpful. Highly recommend using this location.

Stopped in this library on the way home from my moms dentist appointment. Fun fact, I never…read morerealized that Niagara County/ Genesse/ Orleans had a seperate library system from Erie County. I always thought they were all linked, you learn something new every day. The library was clean, staff was helpful was greatful they had an express computer station to print something I need to mail out. The library had a curbside pickup; bonus for people not wanting to enter due to COVID19. Bathrooms were clean, and they had books for sale when you walked in. Even though I didn't find anything, I enjoyed browsing.

This review is a bit of a contradiction since I rate the facilities and services provided as 5…read morestars, however, I rate the overall work environment as 1 star. Question. When did it become commonplace for patrons and staff alike to speak at a normal or even above-normal level? I was in the library on Wednesday, 21 Ju 23 around 2 PM and I was appalled at the parents that allowed their children to scream and holler and run around the library. Even more appalled that the staff condoned this behavior. All staff members are very sweet and helpful, but to allow this type of behavior is unacceptable. Patrons are conversing in very loud voices, exacerbated by the fact that one expects a minimum of conversation at hushed levels. Perhaps it is a generational thing since I grew up in the NF public library system during the '50s that did not tolerate noise at all. I actually packed up my gear and left because I was unable to concentrate. A pity really since it is a first-rate facility in all other respects except for crowd-control. Too much noise, too little consideration for its patrons, and inadequate and too little crowd-control to keep things quiet. Shhhhhhhhhhh!
