I needed a large papilloma removed from my tongue. I went to NHOMS Dover in December 2021. Dr. Reisch didn't want to do it until my high blood pressure was under control, and he wanted medical clearance from my doctors. After being put on 3 HBP meds, I made an appointment in March. He cancelled my appointment 45 minutes before I was to see him because he didn't receive medical clearance. I was furious. If my nephrology team and primary care physician weren't worried, why should he be? He said epinephrine can spike blood pressure, and I asked how much he intended to use--a gallon? I followed up on the medical clearance issue--apparently there was confusion about where to send it--and got that sent in. In the meantime, I called another oral surgeon on Monday, got a Tuesday appointment, and had it done. When on Wed. I got a call from NHOMS to set up a 3rd appointment, I was happy to tell them I had had the surgery done elsewhere. This was a very frustrating situation that I believe was unnecessary.
