Instead of addressing this my first appointment was in actuality a new patient appointment with a cleaning which would have been fine had the pain been addressed at all . The pain was from an abscess and I had to be re-seen the next day for an emergency appointment because it was ignored at the first visit despite my telling the dentist and the hygienist..... it was clear on the x-rays that I received a dental plan from one dentist and at the next appointment a brand new one. This new dentist has a great bedside manner however his skills are yet to be determined and I would not feel comfortable with any complicated extractions or root work. Another small concern is that I was offered a package which included a cleaning yet I was charged not only for the intro patient package but also for the cleaning which again was supposed to be included in the initial package .

0/10, terrible staff and dentist that makes your teeth worse than before…read more I saw Dr T for a 3/4 crown and a filling and the whole time I was having the procedure the dental assistant was flirting with him. I literally felt like a prop. I was barely acknowledged unless a direction was being given (of course when I complained to the office manager, she told me that he doesn't remember that, which why would he admit to it anyway, the dental assistant was literally half his age). AND, it's only been a few months and that tooth is more symptomatic than it was before he put the crown in and it feels like I'm going to rip it off my tooth when I floss. Now I have to go pay several hundred dollars more to have another dentist fix my crown Additionally, I received a couple cleanings there, one of my hygienists was absolutely lovely but I've just learned that she no longer works there (happy for her!), the other one assured me that getting a cleaning every 3 months would be covered by my insurance, even double checked with the front desk and brought me an printout to prove that it would be covered. Well it wasn't. So I was stuck with an over $100 balance even after my copay than they threatened to send to collections. I deeply regret ever stepping foot into this practice. I paid them a f**k load of money only to be worse off than I was before.

Enter the space with "the chair", the once anxiety producing object carries only a relaxing welcome here. More friendly and helpful faces talk you through everything, the chair goes back and the concert begins. Yes you read right, concert. There is no time to feel nervous when you feel like you're in such good hands, you can just enjoy the show. The staff are so in tune with each other it's like watching a dance happen above you. You've got you're "safe gesture" since you can't have a safe word, and your comfort is checked in with frequently. I thought for sure I was going to request Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) for my procedure today but Bei Li was so gentle, I didn't even feel the Novocaine. Like an hour at the spa, I had to resist closing my eyes to complete the relaxation for fear that they may have thought I'd passed-out. Bonus, as genuine as they are in their interest and care of you, they don't ask you questions that require long answers WHILE they are working in your mouth. B O N U S. I knew my wisdom teeth needed to come out as they were causing me pain, so I knew I needed to pick a new dentist. I chose Atlantic Family Dental based on positive reviews online. All of the nerves instantly went away when his receptionist Julie greeted me upon arrival, she's always smiling and super friendly. She answered my insurance questions and introduced me to Dr. Nesvold. He (along with his dental assistant Kathy) spent about an hour with me the first appointment and we agreed to do a thorough cleaning at a later date. That appointment went smoothly and they took extra special care knowing I'm incredibly sensitive to pain (I'm a bit of a baby). He referred me to an oral surgeon in the area (Dr. De Tolla in Portsmouth- also fantastic) for wisdom teeth removal. I didn't meet his hygienist, Cheryl, until a few visits later but she's just as friendly and helpful as everyone else there! I've now been going there for several years and I can't say enough good things. I've now converted a sister and my boyfriend over to the office and plan to keep recommending Atlantic Family Dental to friends and family.

All of the dental records (x-rays, charts) are stored digitally by computer. Above the dental chair is a flat panel monitor which shows your chart, xrays, and digital images of your teeth and gums. Previously, I couldn't see the back of my mouth at my former dentists. Cool fish screensaver on the monitor!! It's definitely worth the drive from the Merrimack Valley to the Seacoast for my dental needs!! My supervisor now goes to Dr. Nesvold for his dental needs too!!
