Dr. Nesvold has a dental assistant help out with the x-rays, charting, and dental procedures (fillings). There are no paper charts here! All of the dental records (x-rays, charts) are stored digitally by computer. Above the dental chair is a flat panel monitor which shows your chart, xrays, and digital images of your teeth and gums. Previously, I couldn't see the back of my mouth at my former dentists. Cool fish screensaver on the monitor!! It's definitely worth the drive from the Merrimack Valley to the Seacoast for my dental needs!! My supervisor now goes to Dr. Nesvold for his dental needs too!!

All of the nerves instantly went away when his receptionist Julie greeted me upon arrival, she's always smiling and super friendly. She answered my insurance questions and introduced me to Dr. Nesvold. He (along with his dental assistant Kathy) spent about an hour with me the first appointment and we agreed to do a thorough cleaning at a later date. That appointment went smoothly and they took extra special care knowing I'm incredibly sensitive to pain (I'm a bit of a baby). He referred me to an oral surgeon in the area (Dr. De Tolla in Portsmouth- also fantastic) for wisdom teeth removal. I didn't meet his hygienist, Cheryl, until a few visits later but she's just as friendly and helpful as everyone else there! I've now been going there for several years and I can't say enough good things. I've now converted a sister and my boyfriend over to the office and plan to keep recommending Atlantic Family Dental to friends and family.

Terrible practice, would not recommend anyone visiting that office. New ownership is not treating people correctly and previous ownership completely failed his patients. GETTING DENTURES FROM THIS DENTIST IS A NIGHTMARE…read more Last year, in August 2025, I found this dentist online and the reviews looked great. I called to make an appointment for a cleaning and to get partial dentures for my top and bottom teeth, and I agreed to move forward. By the end of September, the dentures were ready. But when I tried them, they didn't fit at all, especially the bottom ones. The dentist told me to try them for a week and come back if they still didn't fit. After a week, I went back because they were painful to put in and take out. The dentist ASSURED me a new set would be made at no extra cost. But then... nothing. I waited until December and called, they said the doctor would call me. A week later, I called again and got the same response: "The doctor will call you back." Weeks went by, and still no one contacted me. I called multiple times, and every time, I received the same empty promise. I've already paid $1,500 out of pocket, and my insurance covered $3,000. And now, in January 2026, I STILL don't have my dentures, and no one has reached out. I am beyond frustrated and do NOT recommend this place.

He could have just a scheduled it for a later date and sent me on my way, but he put the gloves on and started the procedure.
