I'd have…read moredone then myself otherwise, but we figured a competent CPA would make our lives a little less stressful. We were wrong. We made a 1 o'clock Thursday appointment with Pat Hanniford. When we spoke on the phone to schedule this appointment he was friendly but offered very little information beyond when to come to his office. I also had to ask HIM what informational tax materials to bring to our filing appointment. Shouldn't this have been something he began with? I didn't feel that he was very thorough in this regard and gave me a very loose idea of what he'd need. I took a half day off work and arranged for a babysitter for our afternoon appointment thinking it might be an hour or so. Running a few minutes late we showed up 3 minutes after 1 o'clock. Pat was nowhere to be found. His secretary, Kathy didn't know where he was and didn't bother to call him until we had already been waiting 10 minutes. Then she told us that he was on his way in thinking our appointment (the one that he personally scheduled) was for 2 o'clock. When we asked how far out he was they told us "maybe 4 minutes". That was a gross underestimation. We waited an additional 25 minutes, our first impression of this group growing less enchanting with each passing minute. We had a 2 month old at home that we had scheduled around so this was very inconveniencing, somewhat stressful, not to mention highly unprofessional. When he arrived he was over 40 minutes late for our appointment. Then the actual meeting took less than 5 minutes. We laid out our forms and paperwork, he looked them over, and told us he'd be in touch. Never being told how long the appointment would last nor that he could only devote 5-10 minutes to us, we felt rushed the entire 10 minutes. I later found out that I could've just dropped off the paperwork after work. The whole meet and greet with this office was abrupt and impersonal. So impersonal in fact that they didn't even bother to close the doors to the conference room we were in, allowing whomever to listen in on our personal business. Thus far, not impressed, but we decided to ride it out. At our meeting Pat had told us he'd have our taxes done by the beginning of that coming week. We never heard a thing until WE called at the end of that next week. We were then told they'd be ready sometime the following week. We never heard anything the following week again and began calling every few days leaving messages with Kathy for Pat but never getting a call back. Eventually I just emailed Pat who wrote back apologizing and scheduled us to come in to review our filing. When we arrived he was out of the office again, and came in late, giving us about 10 minutes of his time to review what he prepared. He left us with 1 of 2 options to file and we told him we needed to think about it and call with our directive early the following week. Come the next week and after 3-4 unreturned phone calls to Pat with questions we needed answered, I eventually just went to his office. He of course was not there again but "he's on his way in and he'll be here in 5 minutes" was repeated a few times by Kathy while we waited. (Be aware that this is a habit with this guy, and that his office always always says "he'll be here soon" - Plan on waiting for him every step of the way) . He actually wasn't in the office ANY of the 4 times that I or my wife went there to speak to him and didn't return a single message we left with Kathy. As it's all said and done now, I'll steer clear of this group in the future. Customer service was nonexistent and common courtesy is a reach here. It would seem that either their clientele is the weathered Brighton establishment, not considering a younger generation of client worth extending courtesy to, OR, they're just fundamentally inconsiderate.

My grandma helped me find my first car and I was clueless to car insurance and especially what goes…read moreit to the process. Which now I know tickets accident can rack up. Before my first car, my dad let my sister and I share a car so we could drive to School and he had State Farm. I know State Farm is one insurance company to most people but there are many State Farm agents. My dad was with someone else and told me to go to him and no one else. Well u know grandma'a they always do what they want. Especially mine. So I found the car I wanted and my grandma was with me. the dealer told me the stuff I needed to get before I can drive off with it. I wanted that car that very moment. Well my grandma made it happen with amazing help from Cindy Fletcher at State Farm. It was getting late but somehow Cindy made it happen. Especially when most people leave the office either right at 5pm or a couple minutes sooner and if there is a call most people wouldn't answer thinking it might take to long and have to leave later. This wasn't that case with her at all. I don't know if my grandma paid over the phone or what happened but the dealer came back with the keys and I signed some papers and was on my way. This might be long but it's important. I stayed with her with every car I had. Well my grandma wanted a new one and lease it because of her age and she rarely drives. So she let me have her old car, which only had about 55,000 miles and it's an older car but fully loaded. Any how, my grandma passed away last thanksgiving. It was a huge loss to me and then all of a sudden I had so much responsibility and stress and bills and a lot more and that's not including planning a funeral and there a lot of things u must do. During this I called Cindy and needed a lot of help. My car was still in my grandmas name. She gave me the title to changes it years before but I let it go not thinking this could happen. Plus the leased vehicle and now house insurance. Cindy told me to come in and we would figure it all out. When I went in I was scared and nervous and still very upset about loosing my grandma. Her receptionist was extremely kind but Cindy came out and greeted me at the door as well. I assumed the girl up front would buzz her or go and tell her I was there. Cindy coming out and greeting me was very nice. We went to her office and she had already done a lot of the work for me. Which felt good because I couldn't stop crying and was embarrassed and I thought I'd be there for hours. I do feel she went above and beyond to help me in the situation and also talked to me about my loss and it felt good to hear what she said. She helped me a lot more then she had to. So I would recommend her to everyone. She is smart and has a great memory and had contacted me to help with other things. Plus they offer more things. They offer credit cards at good rates, life insurance which is very cheap. Since my mom is ill and can't work or make money, life insurance on me would be the only way for my mom to survive. I know so any places offer it. But at the low cost and the large amount my mom would get. I couldn't pass it up. Cindy is the one that mentioned it and I was grateful, I was scared my mom would be alone and have nothing so this was needed. So a special thank u to Cindy and her assistant for everything.
