I have heard only great things about Dr. Ng. And, I have to say - he truly lives up to those expectations.
Most of the doctors in the LA Chinatown community seem to have lost their souls and sense of compassion, but not Dr. Ng. He is very responsive, reliable, enthusiastic, and has great bedside manners. He really cares about his patients. Most importantly, you can definitely count on him to answer your calls and help you during an emergency.
I found out about Dr. Ng only recently when my grandma was sick and rushed to the hospital. At that time, she was seeing some other doctor who wasn't giving her the proper medical attention she desperately needed. After numerous calls to Dr. Ng's office and working around his schedule, I was so relieved and so overjoyed when he agreed to take on my grandma's case. My family knew she was in better hands after meeting Dr. Ng later in the week. He has since revised her medication list and gave her the appropriate dosages. Dr. Ng made such a good first impression that I referred him to my dad. I can tell he loves his job which translates into how well he treats his patients. It's not every day that you come across a doctor like him, which is why I would highly recommend him to all older folks.
Dr. Ng can be a little forgetful, so be sure to go over your prescription and various treatment needs towards the end of your visit.
An interesting fact that Dr. Ng shared is that most of his patients live past the age of 90. I actually met one of his patients, a 103 y/o lady, at a nursing home. She was always up and about every single day. I took it as a positive sign that he knows what he's doing for his patients.
FYI - He has two offices, one in Chinatown and one in SGV.
