Over the 5 days they were there, the owner was there maybe 4 hours. I spent hours repairing, an FINISHING up what they did NOT do. All 4 of the hinges they installed did not line up with the horizonal braces so they "Bent" it around the 4x4. I had to add more horizonal braces and replace all 4 hinges. Had to add "3" pickets that they missed, and screw in at least 10 boards that were not nailed on all 3 cross braces. There is still another picket to add later. DECKS - YES! SUPER JOB! FENCES - NO!

Asked NG Elite Decks to resurface old deck, and add cable railing. The deck surface turned out…read morewell. They used kiln dried after treatment lumber and the deck looks fine. The cable railing is a different story: Photo #1 illustrates a 2x4 added to the bottom of all the cable sections. This 2x4 takes up the space of the 2 additional cables that SHOULD be there. This partially ruins the effect of a cable rail system. Since this "feature" was present in the demonstration photo examples sent to me before the job (I didn't notice this), and since not enough cable was ordered to do this right, I had to let it go. I have since removed all the 2x4 sections (14 in total), drilled new holes, added the additional 2 cables and incurred additional expense. Photo #2 illustrates lack of planning for the materials to be used. Since all of the cables were ordered pre-made at specific lengths, it was not possible to run separate cables for the stairs as should have happened. Photo #3 illustrates some sloppiness in the cable installation. This cannot be fixed without removing the affected posts and almost all of the installed cables. I don't expect perfection, but for the price that I paid I expect excellence. I would hesitate to recommend North Georgia Elite Decks to anyone without adding some specific caveats.

There were two different crews who did the fence and the stairs. Both crews were professional and did a great job on the fence and stairs but also did a great job cleaning up. If you did not know, you would not have been able to tell they had been there except for the quality craftsmanship. While they were working on the stairs, I asked about replacing the railings on the deck. Within 45 minutes, not only did they have an estimate for the railings, they had the lumber delivered and were already working on it. These guys do great work and for any exterior projects, I will be using these guys. My neighbors installed a fence next door with a different crew and it is obvious our fence looks much better and the quality of work is exceptional. Highly recommend these guys.
