Now, since we knew about the main issue behind all this pain, the doctor explained the procedures and the solutions. He wanted to go step by step with all the medications before we end up doing the surgery. He is very professional and caring. He was able to give extra time and efforts. He cares about his patient. After my relative went back home, the doctor called him many times to check up on him and his health and the effects of the new medications. We will definitely continue with Dr. Al-Shareef because of many reasons. The main reason is his constant care. The location of the clinic is somehow far away from our home. Within the first two minutes, he made assumptions about which medications the patient was taking. Within three minutes, he labeled the patient as "depressed" without even speaking to them. He then recommended reducing medications that the patient was not even taking. Throughout the entire visit, he conducted no tests, performed no screenings, and made no meaningful effort to speak directly with the patient or properly assess their condition. When we respectfully questioned his conclusions out of genuine concern, his response was aggressive and unprofessional rather than informative or reassuring. This experience completely undermined our confidence in this provider and this location. We came seeking answers, competent medical care, and help during an already difficult and time-sensitive situation. Instead, we left feeling dismissed, misled, and as though our valuable time and money had been wasted. A medical professional should approach patients with diligence, compassion, and sound clinical judgment--not make rushed assumptions, offer recommendations based on incorrect information, and become defensive when those recommendations are questioned. Given this experience, I have serious concerns about the quality of care being provided here. I would not feel comfortable trusting this location with our medical needs again.

Enter Dr. Andrew Morchower. I was googling "best pain management doctors in Dallas" and his name came up. I remembered seeing him clear back in 2019. He made an impression then and really listened, went the extra mile for me and the only reason I changed was just I wound up with somebody closer to me. So I went back today and it was even better than 2019. Doctor's that care about their patients truly and think outside the box without gaslighting the patient are pretty rare. They don't look at your story and automatically assume anything... they take the time in the visit to really listen to you and really try to put it together. It wasn't a 10 minute visit. I am medically complicated and I appreciate the vast amount of time given. He ran late, but they didn't realize I was a new patient pretty much. And honestly, I would wait hours for this kind of care. It just doesn't matter to me. So I am very grateful that I have found my new pain management home. Pain management is an integrate part of my team and I am absolutely convinced that Dr. Morchower will bring it all. My husband's back has caused him chronic pain after a lifetime of working and playing hard. His ridiculously high pain tolerance and overall fervent belief that Pennsylvania country boys "just rub some dirt on it" have taken their toll. Fifty years of playing ice hockey, football, wrestling, snow skiing, more ice hockey, a few car accidents, and whatever other extreme sport he could get his hands on wore away at his body. And then came The Great Texas Freeze during the week of Valentine's Day, 2021. He slipped on black ice and fell. Hard. All 280lbs of him. On the cement. Even the birds stopped chirping at the sound of his resounding crack. Even though Texas woke up after COVID-19 (blah!), we just couldn't get him to a good doctor. And honestly, we didn't know how badly he was hurt until we saw the X-rays taken at a chiropractor's office. Wow! We tried his primary care physician first, who promptly sent us to that chiropractor, who sent us to a physical therapist, who recommended acupuncture, who insisted it was vitamin insufficiencies, and on and on. All this time, my husband and I prayed for healing, for guidance, and, after the first two years, for a miracle. We researched Dallas-area Spine Doctors and Pain Management Doctors and went... to 3 of DFW's "Top" doctors for more opinions. Each time, we'd jump through their hoops, the insurance hoops, the pharmacy hoops, and we never gave up praying. One after the next, they were just NEVER able to give my husband one BIT of pain relief! Joe was in so much pain, and I was exhausted trying to help him manage through life. I put his socks on for him, got up to get him anything he needed, bought three different (super expensive mattresses) trying to find him relief, and oh so many other things living with his heart-crushing back pain. I was convinced I had a heel fracture (been there, done that, and the reason I already owned the scooter the boot LoL). I was in so much pain I couldn't put weight on my right foot. Honestly, finding a podiatrist was my last resort, fearing the worst. I found Dr. Khan and Lonestar Podiatry and they got me in same day. After a thorough exam, he diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis.. sounded like a Harry Potter spell to me. He gave me a steroid shot in my heel and I got 90% pain relief on the spot! Dr. Khan also gave me easy stretching instructions and a PT prescription to help my heel heal. Six weeks later, I'm nearly back to my normal routine, I feel like this whole thing is manageable. What was very impressive was every staff member at the surgery center told me that while the don't work directly for him and work with many doctors they had a choice of moving offices and because Dr Evanson was moving they did too just to work with him because he is that good. One of the OR nurses said she had him work on her mother. That kind of dedication from a team is an impressive testament. I would highly recommend him.
