Waited over an hour to go back. Office staff rude. Left without seeing doctor. Will not go back. Do not use these people!

Initially I was pleased to be seen so quickly and receive a firm diagnosis and plan of action moving forward. Due to unrelated health emergencies, my surgery was postponed 5 months and the entire Edwardsville, IL was simply amazing in working with me the entire time. That is, until day of surgery. Doctor arrived half hour late and was a bit giddy as she spoke. I remember the nurses commenting on her happy, yet odd behavior she had that day. Once out of surgery we were told no repair was required to the ligaments so the surgery ended much sooner than anticipated. Had a bunionectomy, with osteotomy and metatarsal pain underneath (ball of foot). 2nd toe was crossed over the big toe as a result of dislocating the 2nd toe months earlier. First time I physically saw my food post-op I was horrified!! Big toe was straight but 2nd toe looked like it had been cut completely off then sewn back in last minute as an afterthought. The skin and surgical scar under the 2nd toe was stretched and came to rest under the 3rd toe! Mind you, she was only to have opened, shortened, and pinned 1st and 2nd toe. Ball of foot pressure was not addressed in surgery either. As I healed, nothing got better and my foot didnt look "real". After fully healing (and being a patient near 18mos) I called to speak with another surgeon, in the same company, in another state. I was denied, being told I was sent to Collections for approx $245.00 I asked for details and the girl on the phone rattled off a dozen or more 'unpaid' charges - of course none anyone ever presented to me at any point during my 18mos of office visits!!! She said, well theres a charge [medical code name given] for $9.33, another for $14, on and on, with the final charge mentioned being for my very first visit! $50 from near TWO YEARS EARLIER!!! Seems patients are reeled in with kindness, but once surgery is over, follow-ups are quick, concerns go unheard, then add false bill is sent to collections to prevent you from returning with complaints or for any revisions!! I have been to this office twice and i am waiting for test results. I have called multiple times asking for someone to check into the delay and no one will call me back. I've called and asked to speak to different people-nurse, pa and still nothing. I just would like to know the results. One person told me she didn't even see anything in my file about samples taken and waiting for tests. Been waiting 2 months. I would not recommend this office. read more

After surgery the foot is doing really well. I am amazed to see my daughter be able to walk again without her foot swelling up. It was a good choice to do surgery. Dr. Nelson had explained that the first things they usually do is a cortisol shot, but after two cortisol shots (five months of seeing other doctors), we knew that we had run out of options. My daughter was stuck on a couch for half a year. That was enough for us. So, we went forward with the surgery. Dr. Nelson said that sometimes the body can push out the extra bone. But, for us, it was not showing signs of that. I am so glad we had the surgery. My daughter can once again walk and do sports activities. Highly recommend this doctor. Dr Nelson was friendly and professional, staff seemed to be nice. Patiently waited for my two pairs of inserts. They called and said they were both in. They weren't. Only one pair came in. I asked why they told me both pairs were in and I was told "we have to have this pair paid for so we can close the books for the end of the year". I was lied to. I asked when the second pair will be in and was told "the place where they make them is shut down because of covid so we don't know". I asked to pay my entire balance in full so we were done and I paid my balance. Now it is two weeks later and I get a bill for a doctor visit and a second pair of inserts that I never got! Tried calling them, I get a voice mailbox. No call back. Have called several times, no response. Better Business Bureau is the next place I'm going to and then small claims court. Initially, I was happy to get in and get the problem handled quickly. I went to the Edwardsville location. It was a simple in grown toe nail removal. The staff was nice and the problem was fixed that day. However, since then. The billing and communication has been extremely frustrating. I went in twice. Back in November and December. I keep getting bills from this visit when it should have been taken care of back went in. I was told my second visit was complimentary when I went up to the receptionists to pay. It was right before Christmas which is why I remember it because they said "you don't owe anything, Merry christmas." They didn't even have me pay my copay that day which I'm fully aware I have to pay anytime I go somewhere. Any bills I have to pay I will pay. What has upset me was that they charged me anyways after being told it was complementary and now I'm being called the lier and billed every few months. I wasn't going to leave a review and count my losses but again in the mail today I got yet another bill when I asked for this to be completely done in March and said i will pay whatever the balance is to get this done. The stress of having to deal with this 6 months later has been beyond frustrating and I will personally never go back because of this whole ordeal. read more
