Urgent care is always a hit-or-miss proposition. Sometimes you get good care, other times not. So I believe the negative reviews here. But our experience was not negative. Family member was sick. Coughing and ear pain. Called primary care and their "protocol" is to do only telemed visits (because coughing is a symptom of COVID). Didn't matter that we did a home test (twice, on two separate days), and it was negative. You can't look in ears and throats with a telemed (note to self: change primary care doctors). So we brought her here. No appointments available, so just walk in. We were told a 90 minute wait. But it was around 60 minutes when they called us back. Jonathan checked the ears, throat, sinuses, and a strep test was performed (negative). We left with scripts called-in to the pharmacy which I picked up about 30 minutes later. The scripts made sense, questions were answered (by Jonathan), and we're now home treating. I think it was about as good of an experience as one could hope for with urgent care. read more

Had set appointment, waited in waiting room 45min now been in waiting room for 45min wondering if they forgot about us. Hot as hell in this room. Waiting room was damn near empty with one person ahead of us when we arrived. And there sure is a lot of talking and laughing outside our door considering my wife is sitting here in pain. Not to mention they have " Solv Health" with a 4.6 on their Apple Maps which is a scam obviously. They would go out of business if people saw the yelp reviews. read more

Have been here twice and the care was good on both visits. The young lady working the front desk tonight is harsh and lacking any type of empathy or discretion. She's hollers your information, including payment amounts across the waiting room rather than discussing it with you privately in an appropriately moderate tone of voice. I paid $252.92 for a UTI test. I have BCBS AZ PPO. The receptionist couldn't offer empathy or kindness when I expressed financial concern. I can't see my PCP because it's a weekend and I thought the ER would be more expensive, but after seeing this price maybe it wouldn't have been. Angry does not even begin to describe how I feel. If I could give 0 stars I would. Was seen here to check if I broke my foot. The provider was sick and coughing throughout visit. They didn't bill my insurance an it's been impossible (can't reach anyone by phone, waited an hour on hold and then hung up, emailed with no response) to get in touch with their billing to rectify. No one was there but had to wait 45 mins even though I had a scheduled appt. read more

I saw a kind doctor, interacted with some great staff, and some very disappointing staff. Plenty of attitude with who I spoke to today even just answering the phone. She could have been having a bad day. I know the nature of the clinic may not be the most joyful. It's a doctor's office, I get it. With how empty this place tends to be I figure you have nothing better to do, might as well be kind, especially when your job is to answer phones. This, based on the reviews, seems to be a reoccurring problem. The reviews make sense, you never know what you're getting. The appointment also took me just as long as if the office was FULL of patients - except, of course, I was truly the only one in there except for one other person who came in a while after me; and after I was taken back, waited 10-15 minutes, I heard them take the only other patient back in the room next to me. She was then seen before me. Truthfully, I think they may have forgotten about me. I waited over 30min in my room all for my doctor to give me swab I could've done myself when I first arrived and gave my urine sample. The doctor was very kind however, and the staff that day I came in were good. I agree, there's no sense of urgency here so I don't recommend coming here for emergencies. Be ready to not know what you're walking into, and get ready to wait. I would have to give this a 2/5 rating solely based off this rude phone call I just had and the insane wait for an EMPTY clinic, but I couldn't bring myself to rate only 1/5 with the kind treatment I did receive that day from the doctor and staff. Just be prepared for anything. There's definitely a high potential for shit service, or at the very least, incredibly slow service. Key takeaway? Incredibly poor phone service and long wait times. Emphasis on the incredibly poor phone service. I paid upfront, let's hope I'm not over-billed, as that seems to be a trend in the reviews. I wish I would have gone somewhere else. UNPROFESSIONAL, ABUSIVE, SCAMMERS DON'T deserve one star. I'm home, REALLY sick, so they felt it necessary to dupe our teenage son into paying 100% of the bill, over $300, before they'd let him leave, even though they have our insurance info and are contracted providers! Every other urgent care takes a $75 deposit towards any balance left after insurance pays their contracted rate. Not these rude, abusive, unprofessional scammers. When I attempted to find out (via phone call) why they made our teen pay the entire balance, their horrible, rude, unprofessional, front office person, Nicolette, screamed into the phone that we "owed the money" and that she "wasn't going to talk to me anymore"..."and my administrator knows about it". Avoid this place like the plague. Wait times are horrific and they are rude, cold, understaffed, and will try to sneak charges wherever they can. I recently made an appointment for a simple Covid-19 Rapid test. After waiting an hour (which I had to take off work) I was informed that they couldn't do a rapid test, it had to be a PCR, the results would be in 4 - 6 days, AND I would be charged an urgent care visit!!! Never have I been charged for ANY type of Covid test. It was sneaky, underhanded, and dishonest with no mention of this "requirement" at any point until I was in the room. Now there are no available appointments at other providers for the next several days. NextCare on Higley does not put their patients first, they did not provide good care, and I will tell everyone I know to never EVER go there if they value their health. read more

made an appointment at 8am for 5pm the same day, got confirmation yet when I got there they said it would be over a two hour wait. they just let walkins go ahead of you! why do they even offer appointments? that's the first gripe. secondly my adult daughter (28) who has been in the military for 8 years has an appointment there but they send me the bill!! they keep sending it, and email it and text it to me and I keep calling and I get nowhere. she has her own insurance! Wow, there are a lot of 1 star reviews. We probably go to this urgent care 2-4 times a year and have been going for the past several years. Most of the time I have been able to pre-book an appointment online. I like that you can put all of your information in ahead of time. The check in process once you get there is pretty easy. You scan their little QR code if you didn't make an appointment or just give them your name if you were able to pre-book the appointment. I have had to wait a while if I didn't have an appointment, but otherwise, I feel my wait has always been reasonable. I was just there yesterday and got treated for strep. There was a gentleman who came in behind me and needed to be seen for some sort of injury. Someone came out within a few minutes of him being there to at least get him bandaged before they could officially see him. I have never thought anyone was unfriendly (front desk, nurses or physicians). I feel they have always properly treated us. You also get a text survey after every visit. So I do hope all of those who had a negative experience were able to let them know. I feel fortunate to have them so close by us. read more

I had to wait several days to get an appointment and to my surprise today I was charged over double what I paid in Dec 2023. Beware!!! I was charged just under 270 and they first said that my insurance deductible was raised and then said NextCare rates went up after I said I would be checking my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company. I had an appt at 2 and didn't get seen till 3. It's difficult waiting when you are injured and not feeling well. Why have appts if times are wildly not being followed. PA was cordial and front team member was pleasant. The medical assistant was acceptable but not very friendly. Almost seemed annoyed to see me. Unfortunately when I tried to get a note for her work stating she was seen they refused. My daughter does not have Covid and the PA who treated her confirmed but the next day when I asked for a note the provider that was there refused as she said she would only write a note that stated she needed to be out ten days. So my daughter doesn't have Covid, had another virus, has been fever free for more than 24 hours and she insisted that no matter what you have you should stay home 10 days. Took 40 minutes past appointment time just to get vitals! Lobby had the View blasting on the tv, not a left or right thing just not something that needs to be blasting when people are not feeling well. I am not sure who came in to give my care as she did not introduce herself. Three minutes later and she was out the door. The clinic is dirty the staff is uncaring go to Banner instead. Made an appointment online for 9:20am at 2:00am that same morning. I got there a few minutes after 9, and was taken back exactly at 9:20 (unheard of in a medical setting, I was surprised). Medical assistant was kind and thorough with the history and vitals and got me in my exam room efficiently once done. After reviewing my concerns, the doctor came in and was equally as thorough and explained everything, and happily answered all my questions. He was also cognizant of which treatment options would be best to start with to avoid unnecessary medications/exposure to radiation. Overall, super pleased. Was out the door by 10am. I expected to at least spend an hour here so was pretty happy with the whole experience. Not sure if I caught them on a slow day, but regardless, was a very pleasant Urgent Care. read more

OH MY GOSH THESE GUYS are the WORST. I literally heard them talking bad about a patient. A nurse also took a phone call and called a patient an idiot. Not only this but the doctor gave me wrong information. I told her I was worried about being on steroids because my family has a history of heart issues. She then said, "well you don't have heart issues so it's fine." Then I said well I don't want to take steroids because I know it makes you more prone to infections and illnesses. She said "no it doesn't" Im currently taking a psychology class right now and they literally taught that two weeks ago. Because we were learning the effects of medications. But I thought well she's the doctor she would know better. Maybe I remembered wrong. And didn't say anything. Just had the most horrible visit. I have the flue and had an appointment at 12:20. Finally saw the doctor at 2:10 for only about 10 minutes. There was no compassion from anyone working there. They would not even clean out my infected eye. The NP was not friendly at all even though I was in a lot of pain. I will never be going back there. Do not go to this office. After I had my 10 minute doctor appointment and after waiting for about 2 hours previously, I had to also wait about another 30 minutes for my bill. I will never return here again. read more

My husband had gone to Nextcare and had a good experience with his doctor so I figured I would try it. The facility was clean, front desk friendly. The nurse that called me back was very friendly as well. Unfortunately the doctor was rude and condescending. Elizabeth Erb, NP was irritated from the get-go. I accidentally booked with this NextCare online instead of my home location, and I wish I would have read the reviews before going! It was a nice building, and the front desk was nice. But never in my life have I encountered a doctor so rude. Elizabeth Erb had an attitude right when she entered the room. Her bedside manners were horrendous, by looking me up and down then saying " I'm confused why you are here...! " before even speaking with me. As this was one of my fist office visits without my parents I am terrified to go back because of the way she treated me. UPDATE: Two months after I received services at this location they have sent me a bill twice stating they made claims with my insurance and I am responsible for $175 after paying a $30 copay (total cost was $205, so they want me to pay the whole amount) I called my insurance because I didn't see the claim and they are saying Nextcare has not filed a claim for the services I received on 2/18. I spoke with my insurance today they were on hold twice for 15 minutes each waiting to speak to the billing department and no one answered. I have met my deductible and am almost certain I will not have to pay anything further, but Nextcare won't make a claim to my insurance and we can't speak with anyone to ensure they do. I'm assuming they are trying to double dip by getting me to pay and then filing a claim with my insurance making it impossible to get my money back. Horrible horrible experiences with this company, I will never step foot in any of their urgent care centers again, such shady business practices. read more

Not to brag, but I'm kind of an expert on this urgent care location. I was here 3 weeks ago when I was diagnosed with the flu, and then again 5 days later with my daughter who was also diagnosed with flu. (Yay us!) Now I find myself with a lingering cough, and after a week of coughing all night it was either another trip to urgent care or a divorce. I think that's supposed to be an easy decision ... Anyway, I arrived at 7:15 when they closed at 8. Carol at the front desk was so pleasant and efficient checking me in. (Just like the previous 2 visits.) A few people came in after me, and she was just as friendly to them even though (a) it was surely close to the end of her shift (b) the facility was closing soon, so how many more patients would they be able to see? They seems committed to seeing every single one. Carol makes the last patient feel as welcome as the five that came before. *Every single person* we encountered here the last 3 visits was so kind and courteous. The people who take the vitals and the practitioners are caring, thorough, and beyond competent. The facility has ample parking, it's sparking clean, and the choice of tv channels doesn't hurt either (I'll take WOF and Jeopardy over the news any day.) I am sorry some people have negative things to say about this place. I could not be happier. I arrived, was taken back and seen, and discharged within an hour. But I was *not rushed*. If you can't tell, I can ramble a bit but the practitioner was so patient, and she answered all my questions after a thorough exam. If you haven't checked out this location , do yourself a favor and try it out. You can even check in online from home or the app (if it's not within an hour or so of closing time. Then it's walk-ins only, which is more than fair). And Carol, you have such a kind demeanor. As we old folks say, keep on keepin' on! read more

We came to get a physical. Was told there was no wait. Been here for almost 2 hours and now they are making us wait so they can make copies... do yourself a favor and go some where else. The physical itself took 5 min or less but just a bunch of waiting... supposedly there was two people ahead. We got here at 1:07 and it's almost 3. This is crazy. Also while sitting in the office there was a lady who didn't have her insurance card and they wanted to charge her $190... as she got up to leave they magically tried her social security and they "found" her... and now her visit is $25. Ummm why didn't they try that earlier when she let them know she couldn't find her insurance card? Wow... never coming here again. read more

My niece had a horrible experience trying to get a COVID test this morning. The nurse questioned her rudely, became ruder when my niece could not recall all medications exactly, gave her incorrect information about travel, and WOULD NOT TEST HER AND MADE HER LEAVE when my niece asked her not to be so rude. Thankfully, my niece found another test location with a competent, compassionate nurse who could tell she had a bad experience. NextCare urgent care turned me away when I needed a basic physical. They said they couldn't do it without even looking at the paperwork. I made an appointment the day before, but then when I went in a different front desk girl (Sarah) said that they couldn't help me because she didn't want to go through the paperwork. She said the PA that was there (John) wasn't qualified to help me out because the physical asked a question about my mental health, but actually that was a questionnaire for the patient to fill out! They just weren't interested in something that they couldn't just click and be done. I went down the street to another urgent care that took care of me right away with no issues. Out of 6 pages there were 4 boxes not checked. Checked no gave a couple more details and One hour and 10 minutes later we are still waiting! I called before I came here because I need a rapid Covid test and they told me on the phone that this location had Covid tests and that I could not make an appointment but needed to just walk-in right away. I drove 35 minutes out of my way to show up and be told I can only get a rapid test with an appointment!! I told her that I was told on the phone I could not set up appointments and must walk-in and the lady at the front desk says " I don't know who you talked to but we have no appointments for anymore tests, have a nice day" Freaking livid. read more

Understand that times are tough right now and everyone is always getting sick and going to their neighborhood urgent care. I came to this one because it's down the street from me and right by my pharmacy. But I'll NEVER go again. The front desk people seemed nice but they told me to take a seat and fill out my paper work and there is literally 7 CHAIRS IN THE LOBBY!! Every chair was filled and they told me to take a seat. Like where would you like me to sit ??? If this is a new location, they need chairs no matter what. What if a few older folks came in and couldn't stand for long, or some pregnant folks, or 10 more people. I left because I was not gonna stand for two hours. I came to the office inquiring about rapid covid test the lady sitting at the front office was not polite at all. I asked questions about the test and she did not give me the minimal information about it, this was Wednesday 12/30/20 at 4:00PM you should train your employees to be kind to your patients even if they're having a bad day. I find that providers at this facility are great are great but front office need a lot more training and people skills. read more

Waiting for over an hour and a half to be seen and they were telling people as they entered they are now over an hour and a half behind, keep in mind I was the only one waiting when I got here. I really do find it somewhat frustrating that when you plan to have a smooth visit to the doctor. I went online to make an appt at nextcare for the following day i made an appt for 1230. Its now currently 127 minutes after my appt time and im still in the waiting room. I realize the new norm is poor customer service and the lack of giving a s$&$ about the consumer. If you plan on coming here I would suggest not to make an appt its a waste of time just walki in and enjoy the bland waiting room. It may help relieve the expectation of having a set time. Just plan on coming with a book or newspaper. Im quite sure youll be able to read many many many pages. I would recommend just going to a place that has better reviews than this time suck establishment. Stay healthy, and stay clear of this place. read more
