Its motto is "We change lives," and I can attest that it changed mine. I hadn't exercised regularly for years when I joined. Now I'm fit and strong and many pounds lighter without "dieting." In addition, though I work hard there, I also have fun. At PF, one always works out under the guidance of a trainer. There are different kinds of classes, from strength training/cardio to tabata/toning to step or zumba or yoga. There are classes of different sizes. Some are as small as four people. The trainers are all very tuned into how each of us is doing and always have suggestions for modifying an exercise that doesn't work for any particular situation. Part of what makes PF special is the sense of community that Liza, the owner, and the other trainers have created. This is such a supportive, friendly place. I cannot imagine my life without Progress Fitness.

The instructors, classes, and members are all so amazing that I can't imagine life without Momentum. Classes are challenging, but everyone's supportive and it's so exciting to see progress. Wow! No one has reviewed this yet?! I'm shocked!…read more I've been a member of various gyms in the past, so when I arrived in town to begin work, I looked around at my options. Upon setting foot in the door, I immediately knew that Momentum was a perfect fit. It's an all-female gym for starters--a huge plus in my book! There are women there of all shapes and sizes and all abilities, so I haven't yet felt self-conscious or clumsy. The staff is super-friendly and helpful... as are the members! Many of the folks know one another on a first-name basis, which is unlike the fitness facilities I've belonged to in the past. Momentum has a wide array of cardio and strength-training equipment. Also, another cool plus--when you join, they provide a free goal-setting session so you can map out what it is that you'd like to achieve. They also will set up separate appointments to train you on their cardio and strength training equipment. I imagine this would be particularly helpful for women that haven't used this equipment before. The class schedule is has a lot of diverse offerings and it spans the entire day. The earliest classes start at 5:30am, which is great if you're an early-bird like me. They have spin, yoga, pilates, BodyPump (strength training), BodyAttack (cardio), and a bunch of other offerings. Thus far, I've been very pleased with all of the classes and instructors. If you're a beginner (like me), the instructor will usually work with you before the class to get you familiar with form/techniques and give you some tips on how to get the most out of the class. Another huge plus--this facility is kept immaculately clean. They have showers, tanning booths, a sauna, etc. They also have a day care room for kids with toys and a space where they teach them yoga while the moms work out. (It's adorable!) This little community of all-women fitness-goers definitely has a very supportive vibe. I can't say enough good things about this place! If you're in the market for an all-female gym, definitely check this place out!

My wedding is coming up on May 3 and Cortney has done a fantastic job so far. My trouble spot was not on my body, it was with my motivation levels. In the past I would start a workout plan then give up two weeks later. Cortney helped me address that and has kept me motivated with weekly challenges in workouts and nutrition I started working with her with the goal to slim down and tone up for the wedding, but it's becoming a lifestyle change that I hope to keep up with even after the big day. So I am a member of Healthways and I love that Crunch is included, however it only includes the second membership that does include classes but not spin which is a bummer. If I paid $9 more I think it would include that plus I could have guest privileges which I thought would be cool to bring my mom here and there but its not for classes which is all she'd do. I do love Spin but the classes always seem full and there's no rhyme or reason as to when to sign up so I don't want to spend the extra money and then not be able to take full advantage. So they have this app which is great to sign up for classes but it only allows you to sign up within 24 hours which is fine but it doesn't always work that way. For example now - I look to sign up and I can sign up for tonight and tomorrow morning but not tomorrow evening which is still within 24 hours. And the spin is ALWAYS full. When does one actually see slots to get in? Makes me sad. Anyway though, the facility is clean and there's plenty of things to do and they have a foolproof circuit which I enjoy. The classes I've tried so far have been fun and at times that I can make it to. And they also have some 30 minutes classes which are great with my insane life schedule. So I'll continue to add this into my regime and hopefully someday soon I'll be buff.
