I cannot say enough good things about MG Movers--they were absolutely phenomenal from start to…read morefinish. We recently hired them for a long-distance move from Greenwood, SC to Milltown, NJ, and the entire experience was seamless, professional, and surprisingly pleasant (which is rare to say about a move!). This move was especially important to my family--it involved transporting my mom's most cherished belongings from her lake house in South Carolina to her new summer condo in New Jersey. These weren't just boxes of stuff--there were delicate, sentimental, and valuable pieces involved, including a very heavy marble table and a fragile mirror that I was genuinely nervous about. MG Movers treated every item with incredible care, and I was blown away when everything arrived in perfect condition. What really stood out to me was their efficiency, friendliness, and attention to detail. From the start, Maciah, the owner, was hands-on and fully involved--not just managing the logistics but personally being there from pickup to dropoff. That kind of leadership and accountability is rare and it made all the difference. He and his team went above and beyond: for example, while moving the dining table out of the house in Greenwood, they helped bring in a different table from another part of the home to take its place. Just a generous and thoughtful touch that really stuck with us. They handled everything: disassembly, packing, transport, unpacking, and reassembly--and they did it all perfectly. Every piece of furniture was put back together with precision. Nothing was scratched, dented, or even dusty. The communication was excellent throughout the process, and their pricing was very reasonable for the level of care and service we received. If you're looking for movers you can truly trust--whether it's a short trip or a long-haul relocation--I wholeheartedly recommend MG Movers. They made a potentially stressful and emotional move feel completely manageable and even uplifting. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat and will absolutely be recommending them to friends and family. Thank you, Maciah and the entire MG Movers team--you made a meaningful transition so much easier and smoother than we ever could've imagined.

We're so glad we picked them; they made everything so much easier. MG Movers was absolutely THE BEST moving company we could have chosen. We had a complicated move but MG Movers handled it beautifully! They were honest, did not overcharge, stuck to the original price, even when we had to make last minute changes. If you need movers, I highly recommend them!

Owner should be ashamed of his staffing capability! Terrible moving company! This company was hired…read moreto move two houses in one day. This was explained at the time the service was booked. The owner sent two men to do at least a 4 man job. The owner should be ashamed to understaff his booking in such a way. It's a disservice to the customer paying $160 an hour and to his own employees. In the process a TV and lamp was broken which I do NOT fault the movers because they were overworked. My family ended up finishing the loading and unloading the U-Haul because we had hit the 8 hour mark, not to mention we had to help thru the entire process because the workload was too much for only two men. The owners choice to understaff this move caused the initial time in our new home to begin on a negative note. Things were just getting put in the house/garage with no organization causing more work and increased growing pains for my family. It was a total disgrace! The next day when the bill was paid we questioned why only two men were sent for such a big job. The OWNERS response, "that's what's on the invoice" Sir you wrote the invoice and should be the expert. That was not an acceptable answer. Owner is a JOkE!!! Do Not Use this company!!!! You will regret it! Sincerely, Disappointed Homeowner Edited bc I could not find a way to comment on the business owners response. This Job was book under Eric M. In Greenwood SC. The only mistake we made was booking thru your company.

For some reason I can't write a review on Google so hopefully this will still be seen. Horrible,…read morehorrible experience with these guys and I say avoid them like the plague. We just did a PCS from Ft Gordon, and we've been around this whole moving thing a few times so we're not strangers to the process. We're also not control freaks so we weren't breathing down anyone's neck or irritating them while they're trying to do their jobs, otherwise MAYBE I could understand how we were treated. Scott Heyman, VP of Sales did the walk-through with me, was perfectly friendly. Packers show up and mistreated/mishandled/packed incorrectly (we saved original boxes and styrofoam packaging) some pretty high-value items that we specifically warned them about ahead of time, and completely ignored many specific requests from my husband and I. I wish I was exaggerating-- I made eye contact with one guy and asked him a question and he literally turned around and walked away from me. Same guy (his name was Warren) was completely rude and grumpy from the moment he walked into our house. He packed up my kitchen, ignored my 2 requests about packing my knives and non-stick pans (even after reminding him a second time). While in the process of packing up the kitchen, he asked both my husband and I to reach down to the lower shelves and pick up dishes that he "couldn't get because he had back issues." Another guy needed my husband's help with something-- these are HUGE no-no's! The packers/movers are NEVER supposed to have the owners help because of liability issues. Never mind the fact that I was 7 months pregnant and Warren wants me bending down and grabbing dishes for him. What makes me so angry is that he bragged about being 68 years old and how he's been doing this work since before all of us were born...good for you buddy but it sounds like you need to be in another line of work if you're going to pull that crap. He knew every trick in the book and it was obvious that he was using them. Anyway this is just naming a FEW of the problems that happened on the first day-- I called Scott around lunch time to ask him a few questions for clarification (I.e. things that were not communicated to us) and he was incredibly snippy, rude, and condescending to me, not at all the same person who did the walk-through with me. Next day comes, no movers show up. I called Scott around 9:30am and I get the same rude and snippy tone that nobody would be coming today (also something that never was communicated to us). Overall everyone and everything was so shady with this company. I already made all the specifics known to the military but we will never be using them again if we can help it. Beware!!! Update in response to H&S's reply: Denali Group managed the move but obviously sub-contracted, as most moving companies do unless the move is local. If H&S/Mayflower was not associated with this move then why were the boxes labeled Mayflower, why did Scott do a walk-through for the move, why were all the movers/packers wearing H&S tshirts, and why did our belongings get loaded into a truck labeled 'Mayflower'? A couple pictures are attached for reference. I stand by my original review.

Make sure you watch the packers because me and my husband both had to tell them things that needed to be wrapped because they were literally throwing things in boxes not wrapped. They didn't mark boxes they were supposed too and our moving truck guy had to do it on his end. Some of the workers were lazy with what they could have fit in boxes but didn't want too. We needed up having to argue about several things and it was very unprofessional!! The guy that is charge of his packers when I tried to explain these things brushed off what I was saying and walked away saying he wasn't going to say or do anything VERY RUDE!! This is the worst company we have felt with in our 17 years of moving! I do not recommend you use them!!

To help alleviate some of the stress we chose to hire a moving company. With some research and the fact they were our neighbors, we, very regrettably, chose Williams and Sons Moving LLC. They were hired to pack, load, unload our belongings for our move from South Carolina to New Jersey. They came to our house on 4 separate occasions with their associates, we discussed our needs and they discussed theirs. We signed a contract for $7,000 which should have covered everything we needed. We were also informed that we would have to rent the trucks as they didn't have their own, but they would drive. On the morning of getting the trucks, they weren't available, so my husband and I had to drive to pick the trucks up from the rental location. This forced us to leave our own vehicle at the rental site. However, throughout this experience more money was requested for various reasons (totaling nearly $6,000) which we did provide for them. You came to my house 4 times, things didn't magically multiply but I guess it happens. Let's also mention how they held all our belongings in Virginia because they ran out of gas and we were to send them gas money. For nearly $13,000 you would think gas would be included. After we paid for their gas and they got up to New Jersey, my brother, my husband and I had to help unload in order to get everything done on time. But the extra $6k and the breech of contract was only the beginning, there was the fact that due to their improper packing, many of our keepsakes would not fit on the trucks. We had to decide between spending more money (which we didn't have) or leaving things, lots of things behind. With a heavy heart, we had to leave some of my children's memories and many of deceased mother's belongings behind. This hurt bad but what made it worse were the negative comments made by the employees towards my family. You were contracted to do a job which you aren't doing very well, and now as we grieve you find it necessary to make rude comments? I must say the "proverbial straw" was as we unpacked there were bedroom things with the kitchen things and living room stuff with bathroom stuff. Many of the boxes are only half full. I lost count of how many items came out of the boxes broken or multi-piece items dispersed in different boxes. So, please, think twice before going with Williams and Sons Moving LLC. If they did their job correctly I would have all my belongings and all my memories with me.
