You'll also get solid instruction in background of the asanas, and their benefits. When I decided get serious about improving my fitness level and addressing some health issues, I went directly to Down Dog Yoga to get on track with a good strong regular practice. I've been going regularly for several weeks, and it's been extremely beneficial. I feel stronger and having less pain. The instructors that I've worked with here are super great - knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to the students during classes, and ensuring that their form is correct. I truly feel that my performance and capabilities are improving steadily under their guidance. I highly recommend.

The regularly scheduled teacher did not show up, so another teacher who opened the studio that morning had to teach the class. Granted, it was on the fly, but a good teacher with proper training should be able to teach a class on a moment's notice. The class was a mix of ages and abilities/experience. The quality of instruction was seriously lacking. Not once during the entire practice did the teacher offer alignment cues, modifications or even mention a pose by its proper name. He was trying to be humorous during the entire class but it got to be a bit much and bordered on the juvenile at times. I'm all for a teacher's individual personality coming through in his/her teaching, but this was bordering on a lack of respect for the class and the practice itself. As for the practice space, it is small and dingy and poorly lit. When I am in town and visiting I will likely not return to this studio.

The only thing that was a bit of a downer was when the birthday girl got into a harness swing and the kids yelled Happy Birthday to her. I have studied under Master Cashatt since October 2001. When I first started, I was timid,…read moretemperamental, and troublesome. Master Cashatt treated me with the utmost respect and helpfully challenged me to rise above my circumstances. Throughout my experience at the school, I have always felt respected and encouraged. Whether directly from Master Cashatt or from one of his excellent instructors, I learned to accept instruction with humility and respect under all circumstances. From the get-go, I was always encouraged to live by the five tenets of Taekwon-Do (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit) both in word and in deed. I did not have to look far to find role models when it came to these tenets. I've come to regard Master Cashatt as one of my first and greatest mentors who has not only spurred me on to such great feats as earning my fourth degree black belt, but also earning a gold medal at the International Taekwon-Do Federation's 2010 World Championships in South Korea. While I could certainly continue lauding him and his school for the fantastic things they have done for me and my peers, I must also speak to how much of a family we are at Master Cashatt's school. Over the years, we have lost several students to tragedies, and we as a student body felt each loss. We shared in mourning and we worked hard to comfort each other in grief. We've raised thousands of dollars over the years in support for our members and our families in times of hardship and tragedy. Master Cashatt's school truly goes beyond the call of duty. Master Cashatt and fellow instructors even attended my father's memorial service this past April, something that is not required, not expected, but done nonetheless. I cannot fully express my appreciation for Cashatt's Taekwon-DO School Inc for the work that has been done in my life, but I do know that it is from this fantastic foundation that I will go on to spread this same love and passion for Taekwon-Do in the world. Thank you and Taekwon!

They have a beautiful spin studio. Also they upgrade their equipment, bikes, treadmills etc! Good stuff!! The teachers are encouraging, excellent and inspirational. They are reliable. I am a charter member and most of my instructors have stayed the same- a good thing!! Also the YMCA has contests and free programs to keep you on track. You can even get personal training too , one session or multiple sessions. The staff, for the most part, is very pleasant and helpful. I cannot stand the crowds in the afternoon, or on Saturday mornings. I couldn't even get on a weight bench - it was packed. Every treadmill in use so I recommend you go at "off times". I would be thrilled to see them open 24 hours a day but shudder to think how much more my membership would increase! Membership goes up every year and my newest rate will be over 90$ a month- a family membership. Very vey expensive. I wish they would offer a "non pool" membership. I'm paying a mint for stuff I'm not even using. It is so expensive that my son had to switch to LA Fitness which is half the price. They offer reduced memberships but be prepared to fill out mountains of paperwork & I'm sure you have to be poverty level to benefit. I rarely use the pool in the summer, it's insanely crowded. Don't expect to get a lounge chair either unless you are there really early. The pool is lovely, very "resort"-ish. You'll feel like you're on vacation. There are indoor pools too! Lap pool, family fun pool, there is a fabulous hot tub and a sauna too. All of which I've enjoyed. I love my YMCA- you can't put a price on your health. I'm there 5-7 times a week, I'll never switch gyms. You get what you pay for and I'm so happy that the YMCA is in our community- we really needed this. It's a great place to work out and I've met some very inspiring people at my YMCA.

Stephanie up in the front is amazing and I have nothing bad to say about her, but she went on maternity leave recently and as soon as she went on maternity leave, the owner Nihti started targeting my son. I spoke with Nihti in the office which is when she told me kids are a number on a clipboard there. She is completely and totally only in this business for the money. And it shows. Her BEST staff Miss Ashley recently left around the same time Stephanie went on maternity leave. Because of their lack of GOOD staff, they will kick your kids out of their school. They've been open for a year and Nihti told me she's had to let go of multiple families. Tell me you don't care about the kids without telling me you don't care about the kids.
