I visited this shop for the first time today, I had a great experience! There was a tcg tournament going on in the large store. I believe they were playing YuGiOh but I'm not familiar with the game so I can't be certain. There were probably 40 people in there all playing, a very cool sight to walk into! I stopped in to buy Pokemon cards for my nephew and me to open together. They don't carry very much sealed Pokemon products and most of what they have is listed at market price. I don't know if they regularly get items at msrp. This shop has a pretty large and diverse selection of single cards as well and I ended up picking up some from the display case as well as a few from the $1 box. I had great service from Brian on this visit. I will definitely be back, especially if I'm looking for singles. read more

Next Level Games is located inside of the Rivergate Mall, and may be one of the final standing spots breathing life into the mall. NLG is a sprawling shop that is filled with all varieties of games, gear, collectibles and much more. My buddy and popped in looking for a few particular board games, Skull and Blood on the Clocktower. While we did not find the latter, we did take Skull home with us! In addition to the filled shelves and varieties of items, they also have dedicated rooms for live play. The store was also very clean, well organized and in great shape! I was honestly quite impressed for a spot located in Rivergate Mall. Service was solid as well. When we were checking out, the Associate was friendly and helpful. Overall, great store! While I am not a massive gamer, I do enjoy the occasional board game, so I can easily see myself swinging back through to try and find the next game! read more

It's a cool space but they charge up to 3x MSRP for One Piece products. I refuse to support a business that's scalping product that people can't get because the bulk of product is shipped through distributors. These products can only be bought by local game stores(LGS) from the distributors that Bandai partners with. In order for any normal customer to buy these products they either need to buy from an LGS or get lucky to find one off packs available at Target and Walmart. These stores that charge these prices are greedy and just want extra money. You can buy these starter decks for $15-18 on TCGplayer and I recommend you do so instead of supporting this store. If they cared about a community they would charge a slight markup (such as the sellers on TCGplayer) to get a profit instead of double or tripling MSRP. They are using the fact that only they can receive these products in bulk as a way to justify price scalping and screwing over the community. read more

I followed their instructions and used 50% market value. 90% of my cards should have been considered NM, but they intentionally downgrade them to LP or MP. In the end I had to haggle for 30% of market value. Should have been closer to 40%. Now they are online for top prices and at better rated conditions. Let the seller beware. read more

As a mom of two Pokémon gamers and wife of a total closet nerd, let's just say that I'm a little too familiar with these sorts of stores. When we moved to Nashville and were looking for a place for our boys to continue playing in a Pokémon league, Next Level popped up. At first arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall cleanliness of the store. In fact, Next Level Games is the first gaming store I have been in (around the world!!) that actually smells like... nothing. No body odors emanating from the still-figuring-it-out teenage boys (and let's be real, a few man childs) who frequent it. While at the counter, I caught a glimpse of their employee checklist in the back office and sure enough, part of their evening routine is to "turn on air purifier". Ah hah! I knew it was too good to be true to think that Nashville gamers were somehow nicer smelling than their foreign counterparts. But either way, I thank you. My nostrils thank you. More importantly, we have been really impressed with the staff here. It's not easy running tournaments and managing countless kids but they are very kind and accommodating. Our boys have enjoyed building a community with the family who own it as well as the other staff and it seems they have been honest in their dealings with our kids. It's always a worry that adults will take advantage of that when wheeling and dealing or negotiating for cards but everyone has been great - staff and players. We had one problem where our son's entire deck went missing (after leaving it laying around) and the owners took it seriously and even looked back through the security footage. Jury is still out on what happened to the collection but it was a great lesson for our son to learn to be a better steward of his belongings. This store focuses on card games (TCG's) and not board games. They have plenty of table space and a vibrant community of players. Worth checking out if you're looking for a TCG home base! read more

Best Retail Experience I've honestly ever had. WELL worth the drive. The store was HUGE! They had anything and everything on trading cards. Super Cool single cards for sale, but a great assortment of Pokemon card packs that I bought. The man selling me cards gave me a discount just out of the kindness of his heart. Target definitely wouldn't have given you that hospitality. 10/10 WILL be going back again! read more

If you are looking for a place to play your TCG, whatever it may be, this is THE place. They have a pretty large selection of single cards for sale, and just about every type of pack, box, playmat, die, and everything else. They hold very well-organized tournaments. I played a Magic event here, and while I'm not the most advanced player and got crushed, I still enjoyed myself. It's very big and open with lots of tables to play, and has a large parking area next to Target and Chuck E. Cheese. Prices are very fair on everything. Service is pretty par with any gaming store - they are focused on events and selling cards comes second. I asked if they had some certain cards once and the kid working there told me, as he was clicking on the computer, "I don't know man, check the case." Congrats on losing your store that would-be 4-star review with that comment. Other employees, as well as the owner, are all helpful and knowledgeable, though. The only downside, other than getting potentially bad service, is that it's in a part of town that you need to be sure to lock your doors and secure your belongings. Other players there told me of multiple car break-ins and theft of Magic card, and a coworker of mine had someone try to snatch her purse while leaving the Target next door. read more
