Let me just start out by saying that they are getting 3 stars on the merit of poor communication…read moreinvolved. What was supposed to be logically simple ended up being a complete nightmare. I was involved in a not at fault accident in January when a Lexus of Richmond Hill driver crashed into my car while he was turning left. Luckily, we were all okay but it left me with a whiplash injury that was diagnosed by my MD and physiotherapist/chiropractor at Apple Creek. At the beginning of my visits, I was ill informed about the fact that my claims would not be submitted by them and that it would be this huge lump sum that I'd have to pay at the end. In fact, I was never told this clearly at all. My treatment lasted from January to April 2017 and at the end of those treatments, nobody mentioned anything and I was under the assumption that they were going to take care of the paperwork for me. 4 months later, in August, I received an e-mail telling me I needed to settle up a $972 invoice. Naturally, I was shocked because this isn't chump change. When I initially communicated through e-mail, I was given unclear solutions and answers as to what I should do so I finally phoned both my EHC and Apple Creek. When I spoke to Apple Creek on the phone, they admitted to the fact that they were actually changing management/infrastructure and to make *their* lives easier, they were telling "certain clients to file their claims themselves". They then told me that I could just file it online and no matter how many times I told them that I was on an individual plan and I *didn't* have an online portal, they just wouldn't listen. I finally paid the $972.25 that I was "owing" to put an end to this huge long nightmare of dealing with this and ended up having a huge interest owing on my credit card because of that. Once that was said and done, everything else happened at a reasonable time including reimbursement by both them and my EHC. In terms of therapists there, I've had a chiropractor and two different massage therapists. Both massage therapists were good although Jeanette really was excellent. Livia was my chiropractor and she was also professional and friendly. Overall, on the basis of just clinical practice alone, I can see why they get good reviews but this whole insurance thing has just been a series of poor communications that made my life very difficult; and this is the sole reason why I am so upset about this situation. Had I been informed about this from the VERY beginning of my treatments, it would given me a clearer idea of whether or not I was going to go forth with treatments in this practice because at the end of the day, I'm very focused on efficiency and ease of services for the client. So finally, 10 months after my accident, this has all been resolved but unfortunately, I will not be returning here for my needs and will seek care elsewhere should the need arise again.

I was actually referred here by a friend at the gym. She comes here for physio and speaks highly of…read morethe staff, but I didn't come here for physio, I came here for massage. As a powerlifter, one works through the aches and pains, but once in while you need to get it all relaxed for you so you can keep lifting all the things. I am THE WORST for scheduling a regular massage because it would be so regular I'd go broke. So I wait until urgent pains come up, like when my messed up left side go super messed up, to a point where it would hurt to move. My regular place didn't have any available appointments for the day I needed it or the day after, I thought I'd give Apple Creek Sports Medicine Centre a call to see if they'd be able to fit me in. And they did. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment and since it was my first time, I had to fill out intake forms, pretty standard. I was greeted by as staff at the reception desk, she was very friendly and I really appreciated that. They have a water cooler available at the waiting area, the waiting area is very clean. You look right into large space where they a lot of the physiotherapy happens. My therapist Sean came to get me at the time of my appointment, gave me a brief assessment of the more problematic areas and told me how the treatment will proceed. My massage with Sean was very good, he focused on the areas that was the cause of me going in, but he also reserved time to give attention to those spots that tend to get less attention, like the pecs that are often left last and sometimes even missed because time ran out. I've had one other treatment with Sean and his method is consistent. My treatment was about the same and I really enjoy that. Rested a few days and went back to the gym to get "dem gains". Their massage therapy services does cost a few dollars than average, but since I'm not good at planning ahead for this things, it's just the price I have to pay.

While the care might be good the frontline staff are completely abrasive antagonistic and brutally…read moreargumentative. One would think if patients cdlking in our in excruciating pain as for our situation that they would have the basic understanding and compassion. Instead when the front line first level doesn't answer the phone and your call goes unanswered that would be bad enough. But when your finally frustrated I res gong them rather then have the decency to be compassionate" well if your not happy and don't like ourxsecyces I'll forward your call to our manager ..." said in the most condescending tone as the stage is set. We never asked to talk to a manager we simple wanted out call answered and an appointment booked. 5 minutes later our call is picked up by someone named Roshana who spent 7 minutes berating is with procedures telling us about needing a referral from a dr we just saw 1.5 hours ago!?!? No one should talk to anyone this way let alone someone in a medical Practise. She went on for over 6 minutes justifying all procedures as to how they operate never letting us get a word in and then hung up after her bloviated diatribe was finished. She must have been on stage there for her office staff. You know that situation when your ganged you're on as if your being lynched ? This was the behavior displayed here. Finally after a call back to our dr it was indicated to us that we didn't need what they were requesting as we had just seen the dr within the same day and that what they requested us to get was already not needed. So had the call been answered or returned and someone just took the time to listen all this would have been avoided. While the care at this facility might be good we're just lost for words regarding the conduct of the staff. No matter what they're suppose to be the professionals. This person Roshanna isn't fit for management position and the other reviews only speak to it to be MOST polite. -5 stars. This is regarding the Scarborough location. 416 546-0848

Don't even bother booking an appointment with doctors here. They don't take new patients unless the…read moredoctors "like" them (that might depend on what kind of illness?) after "Meet & Greet" appointments which requires OHIP to take taxpayers' money from the government. If they become a doctor to cure people or "save someone's life," they should be there for a patient's illness. A callous, arrogant secretary actually said to my girlfriend, "if you are not interested anymore, you can go see other doctors." WOW. My girlfriend called Pinnacle to seek treatment. Is this how they usually talk to sick people who need care? You can't fix your health problems with that kind of people. Lastly, go to ratemyMD check out the doctors there. No reviews from real patients at all but simple rating 5/5, a few of them. Funny.

Got scammed by this place…read more Paid for a baseline test from my gym. Went for a baseline checkup test for a concussion. I was lead into a room to do something similar to a test. another guy does the baseline review with me. I went to check out and there was a 95 fee. Baseline reviews are free, so I asked how come. Turns out the first guy didn't tell me what he was doing for me. He goes on to babble about how he needed to assess my physiology for my concussion. That he knew I would fail my baseline anyways. Ironically when I came in he told me that likely the numbers would match and that's just what happens. The other guy told me I was pretty close however I have symptoms. Garbage clinic for ripping off old folks. I had a bit shocked and paid and turned around after I left. Tore them a new hole and didnt pay for a bs fee. Don't ever go there, waste of my morning. They also provided after-care advice for my main shoulder issue as well as anything else they spot (e.g., my posture could be improved) or anything else I was curious about e.g., sports medicine tips for running or any sports you play. Overall they are a bit pricier than other physio clinics in Markham but this was right near my work and luckily turned out to be a great clinic that shows genuine interest in helping their clients get back out there.

Got a one hour deep tissue massage for my husband and I. They do not have couples massages in the…read moresame room, so we were in separate rooms, which was fine. My massage was with Mi Ja Seo and my husband's was with Peter. Booking was relatively easy. They have the availability showing online. I called to book our massages just to make sure we got the same time. You have to fill out an intake form if it's your first time. It was digital and sent through email. It was standard and pretty straightforward. Both our massages were pretty good. I specifically was to focus on my neck, shoulder and lower back. Since my muscles were really tight, that was the focus for the hour. Mi Ja Seo had great pressure and technique. I felt so relaxed after! She even gave some suggestions and tip to help make sure I'm not so tight. My husband's focus was on his neck, back and shoulder blades. No complaints. Rooms and washrooms were clean and everything looked professional. Why I took off one star was because of our experience using a gift card. We received one a while back. I made sure that gift cards do not expire before making our appointment. When it came time to pay, it said we only had just less than half the amount it should have been. We had never used this gift card before. We had to pay the difference on credit card while they sorted it out. It eventually got sorted out, but we had to make a trip back to get the refund on our credit card. We live on the other side of town, so that was a hassle. Otherwise, our experience would have been better.

I booked a much needed therapeutic deep tissue massage for the following day…read more I specified specifically for a 90 min deep tissue massage. I was not asked if I was comfortable with a male practitioner which is has always been specified in my experience elsewhere. I didn't mind to wait for a female to be available, and I didn't have to wait too long but the massage was a relaxation massage and I felt more stressed by it as I didn't feel like I was having an actual massage for almost the entire time and was practically a forearm sweeping my body only hard pressure in a couple wrong areas. I had booked a deep tissue and even though I explained where I had injury and problems they were completely missed as were many areas. It didn't feel like an RMT. I asked the receptionist after because I was very confused if I was mistakenly given a relaxation massage and if it specified that I booked a deep tissue and it had not been properly booked and noted as a deep tissue massage which was the massage I had booked. I booked specifically at Sutherland Chan because they seemed to offer therapeutic massages if you have any injury or need to have a massage as therapy but it turned out to be disaster when I needed help the most, very disappointing.
