The guys generally pick a selection of wines to put on special in the centre of the floor, generally around the €10 mark, and they change frequently: for example, during the summer, you're likely to find some fruity barbecue wines on offer. Advice is available if, like me, you don't know much about your wines, and they're more than happy to steer you towards value-for-money rather than try to upsell. As a beer man myself, Kelly's is miles better than the other local off-licence. They stock all the usual suspects in an open fridge, but they also have an excellent selection of quality imports such as Flensburger, Baltika, Spaten, etc. They stock some good Irish brews as well, and regularly have five for €10 on some of the good European beers. Better selection, better staff, and good deals. What more could you want? While you could probably find better bargains on mass-produced plonk in Tesco's or similar, these guys have a great selection and know their stuff. As a small local business, they do an outstanding job serving their customers, too. And if you need it, they can sort out your party needs with glass hire, too.

From Belfast Blonde to Dungarven to Brooklyn to San Francisco to Munich and more in between. What I loved, was what tea they served. I didn't say anything apart from a word "tea" when ordered my "burgwich". What I've got was a leaf loose tea in a pot, not some "Indian road dust" AKA Barry's or Lyons tea. No offence Irish, but them teas are a byproduct when making decent tea, let's just say left overs. It's such a cozy little spot, perfect for enjoying some wine, and their food is good too. We purchased our wine upstairs, from an excellent selection. We were out for Portuguese wine and we were impressed with their stock, since it tends to be limited in most shops. We had to decide between a few but purchased a bottle of Nieport red: Lagar de Baixo from the Bairrada region, which was excellent! We went downstairs and asked if we could chill the wine slightly, the waiter was very nice and brought a bucket of ice. We sat in the sort of lounge area, in big comfy chairs near the fireplace, and it just couldn't have been more cozy. We also tried their bread and spread plates and they were both very good, we particularly loved the bacon jam! We are looking forward to being back (and often) to try more of their wine and food. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, the selection is excellent, the ambience is lovely, it couldn't be better! Highly recommended for an evening out with friends, or a romantic date night.

My neighboury guilty pleasure…read more It's shops like that that makes living in Dublin great. I love this place. They have an incredible choice of beer and of whiskey. But that's not the best. They have an incredible customer service: the staff is always nice, always here to help, and they know their sh.t.... I mean stuffs. Plus, the shop is opened really late, which is awesome for a booze store. Even if you don't know what you want, they will never laugh at you for a small budget. They made us try some great whiskey, always explaining where it comes from, how it is done, why does it tastes that way, etc. I trust them eyes close to help me choose the best beers, and to find nice crafty beers from small breweries. So stop asking questions, and just go there!
