A small store but generally a fine selection. Bread and veggies are always fresh, they have a good selection of meat, and a large wine selection.
That said, I've had to stop shopping here for anything except incidentals for the rather odd reason that they stock lots of filter coffee and have completely stopped stocking coffee FILTERS. I have asked the manager about this in-store and he just blows me off with an 'they're coming in soon' (they have been 'coming in soon' for 6+ months now). Since I always buy filter coffee with my weekly shop, this means that I have to stop off at Tesco just for filters...easier just to go to Tesco or Dunnes and get it all done in one. Other Supervalus don't have weird aversions to packets of paper filters, so not sure what's up with this store.
The other complaint that I have is a bit nit-picky but the cashiers almost always greet older regulars in a very friendly manner and have a chat (this is a good thing), but will then not even say 'hello' or do anything except snap commands at someone that they don't know (this is not a good thing, in fact it comes off as downright rude if you see the person ahead of you being treated with smiles and chat, and are then not even offered a courtesty greeting). I avoid certain cashiers who do this very blatently because it just makes me feel bad.
In any case, as long as you don't want filtered coffee and don't mind a little rudeness, it's grand. read more
