Worse Massage Ever I…read morehave to start by saying the manager refunded my money in full. So I will tone down my review because of it. It's not a massage nor is the lady any good at what she does - Ella. It's a rub down over your body covered by a sheet. At no time did she stop for one second to massage any muscles. She massaged you like she would wash your car, flat handed and quickly. Not relaxing at all. Asked Ella several times to remove sheet, do a deep tissue massage, massage my problem areas neck and calf's; she just didn't know what to do or didn't care. I stopped at 30 min, then when I checked out she argued with me and then laughed when refused to give tip. Cashier didn't care and was condescending. Again manager made it right. Avoid this place.

I'm always a walk-in when I go there and get put in a room pretty fast (that's why i'm giving 3 stars) Tonight, I called ahead to make sure they were still taking walk-ins because it was later and they were. So I got there and everything was normally how it went until about 10-15 mins into the massage. The lady I had tonight did the absolute bare minimum (if that). I am used to getting excellent massages here but the one tonight SUCKED. She barely did anything. But cool, that's not why i'm writing this review. I'm writing a review because afterwards, I got dressed and went to the front to pay. She told me my total for the hour ($80) and I gave her my card. I get the receipt to sign and wrote $0 as the tip, gave it back to her and proceeded to grab a few dollar bills I had in my purse to give to her. She then grabs the money and angrily puts it back in my purse and then had an attitude and was being short. I guess she wanted more than I was giving or nothing at all. I get needing or wanting tips, BUT if you want a decent tip, do more than the bare minimum. She was very ungrateful for the few dollars I was willing to give her because I didn't HAVE to offer her anything after the sorry service she provided. update (2 days later): i have these bites on my arm. that same spot was itchy right after i left this place. never going back!

From the moment we arrived, the service was on another level. At check-in we were offered a drink, and instead of just handing us a key and pointing to the elevator, someone personally walked us to our room and showed us around the property. I have never experienced that before at a hotel, and it immediately set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is absolutely immaculate. Everything feels polished, calm, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell that every detail was intentional, from the atmosphere of the lobby to the way the staff interacts with guests. One thing that really stood out were the luxury touches throughout the room. The amenities included Bulgari soaps, body wash, and even perfume, which made the whole experience feel elevated the moment you walked into the bathroom. The marble soaking tub and spacious shower made the space feel more like a private spa than a typical hotel bathroom. Even outside the room, the design details continue. Right by our door there was literally a small moss garden built into the hallway area, which was such a unique and calming touch. At that point I was joking they might as well add a mini waterfall by everyone's door because the atmosphere was already that peaceful. They also offer thoughtful touches during the day like dessert hour, which made the stay feel even more special. It wasn't just a place to sleep -- it felt like a full experience. As someone who works in hospitality and kitchens, I naturally notice service and details more than most people. I have to say this hotel truly impressed me. This is honestly the level of hotel I would want to run or build one day. What I loved most is that everything felt warm and welcoming, not stiff or overly formal. The staff genuinely made you feel taken care of. If you're visiting Auburn and want a stay that feels luxurious, thoughtful, and memorable, The Laurel Hotel & Spa absolutely delivers.

Having been to Thrive Coffee and even in the lower floors for Auburn events I was not exactly sure how to get into it. However, there is a separate valet entrance. We were greeted immediately by a host who showed us around and brought us to the 6th floor to The Library where we were given lemonade with an option to spike it. This was not a wait in line for someone to help you. This was a concierge service the whole time. Our host brought us to the room and showed us around, who doesn't love an iPad to control your thermostat, your blackout shades, tv, and music. The room is deathly quiet. You can actually hear yourself think. The marble bathroom with the tv in the mirror, the separate water closet, shower, and bathtub with Bvlgari amenities is stunning. The bed is uber comfortable with high thread count sheets. The bar cart with items for mixed drinks is something I have never seen in the thousands of room nights ai have stayed all over the world. All and all this is a treasure. I hope I am able to stay here many more times. If you have an Amex Platinum card they have outstanding amenities that were available at this point...including free valet parking, free breakfast, and $100 voucher for restaurant or spa.

I recommend arriving 15 to 20 minutes before your appointment. That gives you plenty of time to check in, change into a robe, and settle in before your services begin. I treated myself to a pedicure and the restorative sleep massage. Peyton showed me to the women's locker room, where we discovered my name was not on any of the lockers. However, that turned out to be a God thing. I changed into a robe and slippers, excited for my experience to begin! A little note for my fellow plus size friends: don't worry, they have robes up to a 4X, which I really appreciated. They also have a beautiful, quiet relaxation room where you can unwind before and after your services. Peyton offered me a complimentary drink and gave me some option. I asked her if they had any non-alcoholic "fancy" drinks. She said they did a prepared a beautiful, refreshing drink and put it in the quiet room for me to enjoy. Milah did my pedicure, and we made a genuine connection while we talked. She did an excellent job refreshing my feet, and I loved that she began the service with aromatherapy. It was such a relaxing touch. She's got many years of experience and I highly recommend her!! Next was my restorative sleep massage with Quanette. Before she began, she took the time to ask about any problem areas and anything she should be mindful of. The massage room was peaceful, beautifully designed, and filled with soft, calming sounds. The massage itself was incredible, everything I hoped it would be and more. When I was ready to leave a huge downpour came, leaving me in the lobby to wait it out. One of the ladies offered me a poncho! Such an unexpected convenience. I will absolutely be back when I'm able to. The entire experience was relaxing, thoughtful, and restorative from beginning to end. It was the perfect way to celebrate 12 years in recovery.
