I wanted to give this place a fair review because the staff working on the vehicles seemed friendly…read moreand did a good job with what they had to work with. The main thing I noticed is that the property could use a little more attention when it comes to overall presentation and the customer waiting experience. Even a few small improvements to make the area feel cleaner and more comfortable would go a long way. I also noticed the sign stating that they recently stopped offering cash back for guests who want to tip the staff. I thought that was a little unfortunate, especially since the employees are doing a lot of hands-on work and some customers may not carry cash. The wash itself was okay, but I felt the final result coming out of the tunnel could have been a little better. The employees did their part, so this may simply come down to equipment, maintenance, or the overall wash setup. I always like supporting businesses that provide jobs and employ local people, and I don't mind paying more for a full-service wash when the overall experience is there. For me personally, though, I'm not sure I would return. I would probably choose an express wash next time and take care of the finishing touches myself. Overall, there is definitely potential here. A little more attention to the property, customer experience, and the tools available to the staff could make a big difference.

If you want the worst car wash experience, go here…read more I spent $90 on a hand car wash, expecting my car to be properly cleaned. Unfortunately, they could not even remove bird droppings from the exterior and told me that this was not included in a general car wash. They also promised that the $90 service included interior cleaning, but afterward they said that cleaning the plastic surfaces was not included. This was extremely disappointing because the expectations were not clearly explained before I paid. My biggest issue, however, was the rude and unprofessional behavior of the supervisor, Cornelio. His attitude toward customers was unacceptable, and he did not seem to understand how to handle a customer complaint or resolve the situation professionally. I left with an unclean car after paying $90. For that price, I expected much better service and basic customer care. I am still shocked that a $90 hand car wash could leave bird droppings and other dirt behind. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this car wash unless they make significant improvements to both their service and customer treatment

I'm giving House of Car Wash in Montclair four stars and honestly I'm being a little generous,…read moremainly because the staff was genuinely very nice and accommodating, and I want to give credit where it's due. This one's partly on me because I showed up without my key, but they were super patient and worked with me, even letting me drive my Tesla through the wash myself. They helped me figure out valet mode, didn't rush me, and were calm while I was clearly stressed trying to get everything sorted. That kind of customer service matters and it definitely saved the experience from being a total letdown. That said, the vibe was... strange. I pulled up and genuinely thought the place was closed. It was completely empty, no cars, no staff visible, nothing. It felt like a zombie zone. I sat there confused for a minute until someone randomly appeared and waved me in. Even when I went to pay afterward, there was nobody around again, which added to the whole uneasy, deserted feeling. What was extra surprising is that it was a Tuesday special, so I expected at least some traffic. Seeing it that dead was honestly concerning, especially given how highly rated this place is on Yelp. As for the wash itself, I paid about $50 for a wash with wax and I don't think I'd do that again. I actually watched them wash the car and didn't see anything particularly special that justified the price. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't impressive. I also tried the massage chairs out front while waiting, which cost $5 for 15 minutes, and I definitely wouldn't recommend that. Totally not worth it, especially sitting there alone in an empty lot. Overall, the staff was kind and helpful, and that's the main reason this isn't a lower rating, but the odd atmosphere, pricing, and mismatch between expectations and reality mean I probably won't be back.
