The kink is in the ordering process. There are no hard copy menus, nor a digital monitor displaying the menu and no QR code I could scan to see the menu on my phone. There is one kiosk to order and each person in my group had scroll the menu to decide on their food and then order it. I could not imagine what would happen if there was a line of 10 people. The pressure to just pick something would make me sweat. One could argue that I could look it up myself and I probably could but I don't subscribe to the idea that it's up to the customer to figure it out. The kitchen/area the food is prepared in is smaller than my kitchen. The wait time to get our food at our table was long and I think there was one other customer. There is a disconnect between the size of the place and its capacity to serve that many people. I do have my fingers crossed they will get this figured out because for people who like a craft beer, good food and a Portland, OR vibe, this will be a go to spot! Brothers Alex and Justin come from a long line of professional restaurateurs, and that experience really shows. Everyone is friendly, the service is timely, and the prices are very fair for the quality of food you get. A HUGE plus for us is how seriously they take gluten-free dining. Having gluten issues can make eating out stressful, but I have always been treated with the utmost care and concern at Brothers Tavern. They listen, take my questions seriously, and make me feel comfortable eating there--which means so much. And did I mention the gluten-free burger is DELICIOUS?! The food is always great, the people are wonderful, and you can tell there is genuine pride in what they're doing.
