Great environment-don't see many kids-small bar area-beer only. Bring your own wine-cork fee is $3.50 each member. Waiting area inside with seating-outdoor area to eat. Business still booming after 30 years. Menu diverse-Cajun, steak, seafood-soup and salad. Dessert menu changes. Food mediocre-service above average.

A really great spot off the beaten path with a great view of the water. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious!

    Shrimp and grits!!

Our group really enjoyed eating at the cute Foglight Foodhouse just outside Rock Island State Park. We did have a bit of a wait, but we took some drinks outside under a cozy pavilion and talked of our day exploring the park. We were seated outside for our dining experience. Such a fun server who was very attentive to our groups' needs. Everyone got such tasty looking dishes, we just wanted to get a bite of each! My meal was a cup of their smooth crawfish bisque. Yum! Then a plate of tasty shrimp and grits! Seasoned just right! The splash of sherry just brought it all together! Very pleased with our time spent at the Foodhouse!

I'll admit this place is a drive from Chattanooga, but it's this perfect spot if you're looking for a good road trip on the weekend! While it takes about an hour to get to from Chattanooga, the drive is very scenic and the view once you get to the restaurant makes it all worth it! This might be one of the coziest restaurants I've ever been to. It's in the middle of nowhere on a river, but when you drive up you immediately feel welcome. The decor is funky and homey and the staff is extremely welcoming and attentive! To start off, we ordered the Carolina Caviar (pimento cheese topped with tomato jam and goat cheese served with naan) and this truly might be one of my favorite appetizers ever! For dinner we got the blackened shrimp Alfredo, pecan crusted catfish and the swamp cakes (crab cakes over grits topped with etouffe). I'm not kidding when I say this is one of my favorite meals in a long time. I do suggest that if you don't want to wait, to try and get here on the earlier side as this is a very popular spot. All in all, I highly recommend making the drive to check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

This place is great! A bit overpriced but they do let you BYOB so that's for sure an added perk.

We were greeted as soon as we entered and seated right away. Our server introduced himself, he was friendly & very attentive. Very pleased with our service! They only have 4 beers from Common John Brewery, but we knew they didn't have the full liquor license yet. We both like Common John, so we were fine with this. Coke products, tea & water were the other choices. I'm always fine with just water with my meal. My husband ordered a couple of beers...he liked both. We started with the caramelized onion dip as an appetizer. It was delicious! We ate it all! My husband ordered the pork chop & mashed potatoes & street corn as his sides. He loved everything! I tasted his pork chop & street corn and I think his pork chop was the best I've ever had! Street corn was so good...I'll order next time! I ordered the NY steak (medium rare), it was cooked perfectly. My sides were mashed potatoes & roasted brussel sprouts. Loved it all, but next time I'll order the street corn & brussel sprouts!! Yum!! We will definitely be going back!! Several items I still want to try! So happy to have Binninger-Schwartz in Manchester!! Highly recommend!

Food was delicious, once the chef understood what we were looking to eat…read more Reception was mediocre where the main room was noisy so we looked for the back room. We waited for 20 minutes past our reservation before we were seated in the noisier main room. Our waitstaff Tanner was a 12/10 - superb! Highlights included that once order was correctly received, it was executed well. Downside was that my husband's filet was seasoned when he asked no seasoning; salad came out with dressing on the side instead of having the kitchen lightly dress it. But once it was correct (2 hours past our reservation time) it was fabulous. Mushroom gratinee was delicious. Cesar salad was crisp and perfectly seasoned when lightly dressed. Originally my husband's filet was seasoned and over salted but 2nd chance was perfect. Asparagus was delicious. Dessert was comped and was great. Here's where they could improve: Ambience - the main room has no theme and is noisy. There are beautiful pictures of Center Hill Lake and they should capitalize on that. The room is noisy. Perhaps some artificial barriers of plants could improve. The use of "to go" serving dishes makes it feel less fine dining. They say they are a wine bar but have a very limited selection. They could easily expand their selection and become a true wine bar. We would go back and look forward to trying Ace's again.

Third time here, first (and last) review. First visit, right after they opened, fabulous. Food,…read moreservice, ambiance, all on target. Then they sold the restaurant. Second visit, months later, not so good. Service not bad, food not great. Owner not open to criticism or suggestions. We were done.... But then, we learned that they had hired a new head chef. This was someone we know, a fabulous chef. We gave it a few months, then tried again today. We chose a table outside where live music was playing. Upon sitting, we noticed the table was covered with pollen; normal for May in Tennessee, but still something they should have cleaned before opening. We flagged a waitress who corrected it immediately, good work. The three girls handling our area were focused on setting up a group of tables for a reservation, and ignoring us completely. Eventually that group arrived, and a waitress came to take their drink order. My wife, fed up at waiting over half an hour, told the waitress to get our drink order first, and how nice it would be to see a menu. The waitress took our order and apologized. I should note here that my wife's career was in the restaurant industry at the highest levels, and her patience to this point was amazing. We waited, chatting with a friend. Much later, another waitress came to take our drink order. We explained that we had already ordered, but repeated the order to this new waitress. We resumed our conversation and noted that we had been waiting almost an hour. Eventually another waitress came, asking clarification on our drink order. The order? A bourbon neat, and an old fashioned. That was it: my wife had had enough. We left. An hour and a half without service. As we left, we noted the bar with three patrons, the half-full dining room, and kitchen staff loudly arguing about something. I would like to call this our worst dining experience ever, but there was no dining involved. In fairness, choking to death would be a worse experience; but at least it would be over sooner. To Yelp admins: can you add an option for negative stars? Thanks.
