My Family and my son's family had dinner there last night. I found this restaurant on yelp. We were looking for something close. The waitress did an awesome job! She had drinks and appetizers on the table in no time. Then she came back and took our food orders, which came out pretty quick. The food and service were great ! They have the right to refuse service & they will, for no reason other than they're having a party & you're not invited I was recommended this place by a family friend of the owners, so i figured id give it a try. Firstly there was No website to place online orders, couldn't find it on doordash/uber eats, so i spent an hour looking through photos of their menu (because i didn't want to bring my autistic children into a loud bar) gathering my familys orders. Had a $200 order with a $80 tip prepared (even though we weren't dining in) but i figured they were buisy & ive worked service. So i go to call in my order with list in hand. & i get what sounds like drunk trailerpark barbie on the phone, screaming into it about how she can't hear, and when im finally able to get her to understand me, she proclaims "we aren't taking carry out orders right now because we're buisy" i said, you don't do carry out orders & she says "only when we're really buisy" what the hell? Then she brags about how "there's not even anywhere to sit" so then i asked if i could make reservations. "We don't take reservations" okay.. how do i eat there then? They're refusing service. Its not really a great vybe to deny service to paying customers because a bunch of drunk rednecks got their income tax back. We saw this place when we were house hunting and wanted to stop in but had all these appointments set up!! We just happened to have a moonshine tour and tasting at short mountain distillery which was awesome. And we passed by this gem on our way home! We were starving this time and we hung a you-ie and went back! The food was AWESOME! Hubby got the ribeye which was a special. And I got the chicken fried chicken. Who would've known this hidden gem was right off the main highway in this little TN town? Not only is the food outstanding, but the ambiance is pretty cool. There's a bar with karaoke on Friday nights I believe. Plus they have live music outside during warm weather months. Very tastefully decorated and laid out. I had the best wings I've ever tasted. I have gone to Twisted Oaks a few times for food and drinks now. Twice for food and twice for just drinks. Every time I have been there the service has been amazing, even when they are super busy. The staff has been friendly, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to make sure your experience is enjoyable. A few friends of mine chose to meet there after a dog show to celebrate a nice win. There were 3 tickets in our party. First ticket was the Fried Pickles, Bang Bang Shrimp and 2 Margaritas. The person said the amount of food was perfect for them. At first they thought that there was not going to be enough but said that they were full. Second ticket was the Bourbon Glazed Salmon with Mashed Potatoes with Cheese, Dr. Pepper, Rattlesnake Pasta, Steak Fries, Pepsi, Carrot Cake. The 2 people on this ticket said that their food has a really good flavor and the perfect portion. The third ticket was mine. I ordered the Barbecue Mac & Cheese and unfortunately they were out of it, so my second choice was the Rattlesnake Pasta and Sweet Tea. Great flavor of the Andouille type sausage paired with the Cajun seasoning of the sauce. I wiped the pasta bowl clean with the garlic bread. Been here twice and it's ok. The food isn't terrible but I have not found anything that screams "let's go eat there". Last time we ate there we actually needed to move tables because the one seated behind us was so loud we couldn't hear anyone at our table. The area we were seated in was long and narrow plus they have metal roof panels on the wall so all the noise just bounces around in there. The people were not overly loud the room was. Service is fine. Not especially attentive but you won't die of thirst. Food is reasonably priced and portions are fine. The whole place is a "fine" on the experience level. Parking lot is always full but I'm guessing it's because they also have a bar and live music. Can't review that, we didn't stay for drinks and music. First I would love to highlight our service. Chelsea was the most wonderful and attentive waitress I have ever had. She lights up a room and creates such an inviting and warm atmosphere! Pretty darn good place in the middle of nowhere Tennessee. Was staying in an Air B&B on the lake and looking for a good meal without a long drive. Low and behold Twisted Oak popped up on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxed. The food is typical "bar food" with a few twists. The wing sauces are unique and special drinks are pretty good. We started our order with a giant pretzel & beer cheese, good but not great. The beer cheese was a little runny. Dinner order was: 1) Ribeye steak, medium well. It came out medium rare and had to go back for some time on the grill. 2) Ruben with tater tots. It was prepared well but I'm not sure it was corned beef. Tasted more like roast beef. But the marble rye was good and it had the right amount of kraut and dressing. 3) traditional wings, half with jale-mango sauce half with sweet & spicy. These seemed to be the winner. Our daughter loved them. 4) Twisted burger which was a standard cheeseburger with all the fixings. Son said it was good. The real star of the show was Chelsea our waitress. She was maybe the best waitress I've ever had. Sweet and friendly with a bright sense of humor. She was attentive without being annoying and joy to interact with. Food was brought out timely by table runners. We had chips/salsa and mozzarella sticks for apps. The chips were pretty skimpy in volume we thought. Twisted Oaks Saloon is the neighborhood bar you wish you had since it's not quite in anyone's neighborhood. Walking in, you would think you're in a mountain lodge or a saloon in the backwoods country. The decor is fun and the saloon is quite big as is the outdoor patio and bonfire area. The staff are friendly as are the patrons. One person I met here mentioned that Maggie's (the same place but under different ownership) was not really the sort of place you wanted to hang out, but this is definitely not the case with Twisted Oaks Saloon. We came here on a weeknight and sat outside in the chairs by the bonfire after order some local Sparta, TN beers from the Calfkiller Brewing Co., which were good. The saloon owner was among those hanging out there and he was friendly and even asked us what we would like to see from them as a new bar/restaurant and what types of activities or things would attract us to hang out there. That was a good sign that the owner seemed family-oriented as well as he said his daughters all work at the bar so he expects everyone to be friendly and respectful in the bar. It seems that he may have some work to do changing the stereotypes of the old bar that was here, but I think they are on the right path. Great place in the summertime! Absolute nightmare in the wintertime. They take almost every thing off their menu in the winter time and then overcharge for everything else.. We were looking forward to enjoying this restaurant and we were treated horribly by the manager today. We ordered a beer and it tasted skunky so we didn't drink it. We were told that we still had to pay for it even though we didn't drink but one sip from it!! We then spoke to the manager and she said that "we had a bad attitude". WHAT?!? We just asked for a $5 beer taken off the bill! I will NEVER step foot in here again and we will pass this along to others. This is one of the surprises of rural Tennessee. It's quite good. They have a great menu of up. Foods... sandwiches, burgers, wings, cocktails. We ended up staying for a while waiting for a tow truck after breaking down nearby. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Nashville hot wings, while not authentic to a Nashville hot style were tasty and had a nice blend of heat and sweet.
