The prime rib is delicious, with a smoky flavor. The sweet potato fries are waffle style and perfectly fried, just the right amount of crispiness. The hamburger is also very tasty and messy to eat but good! Pickle chips as an appetizer and wings are consistently good. Pet friendly outside with a band that plays all good songs. We will be back! Our servers have been attentive and brought refills as needed. read more

I stopped in for lunch with a friend while in the area recently and had an ok experience. The space is definitely kitschy, but it also works and is a large with a big outdoor area and a fun, relaxed vibe that I enjoyed. They were busy on a Friday and the service was a bit slow, but our server was friendly and doing the best she could. We were pretty sure she was the only server on the floor so we gave her some grace. Unfortunately we were starving and ordered the soft pretzel with beer cheese dip, a chicken sandwich with fries, and I had the chicken fingers with a side salad. The server said the chicken fingers were breaded in house with their own seasoning and tried a side of homemade sauce with hot honey buffalo sauce that was really good. The chicken tenders were really good but the side salad came out with a package of dressing instead of being homemade. The fries had good seasoning but weren't hot so I don't know how fresh they were. Unfortunately, the worst part of the meal was the soft pretzel which we were pretty sure was forgotten and came out burned. We were so hungry we ate as much of it as we could stomach, and the cheese was good but it was a small portion and overall a disappointment. I'd definitely come back and give them another try on a day when hopefully they are better staffed and the food is fresher. read more

During our ride through the country today, we happened upon a diamond in the rough and made a uturn to check it out. What a great place, great food, good people, and excellent service. These are the places you visit and can't wait to come back to again and again. The owner stopped by our table and shared a little history about the place. All the food is made fresh in house, and served in large portions. read more

My Family and my son's family had dinner there last night. I found this restaurant on yelp. We were looking for something close. The waitress did an awesome job! She had drinks and appetizers on the table in no time. Then she came back and took our food orders, which came out pretty quick. The food and service were great ! It had a warm atmosphere and plenty of room for us to relax and enjoy our meal. Overall, we all had a great experience and the grandkids are already asking. "can we go back there and eat again someday?":) thank you Twisted Oak Saloon. read more

We were greeted promptly and our server was friendly and on top of things. The place is western saloon cute and it was very clean. All four of us noticed that. We got the twisted burger. YUM! Our friends got the Baja Tacos and the bolognese pasta. The pasta they said was good enough but the tacos were great. We have decided to go back and enjoy more. read more

We saw this place when we were house hunting and wanted to stop in but had all these appointments set up!! We just happened to have a moonshine tour and tasting at short mountain distillery which was awesome. And we passed by this gem on our way home! We were starving this time and we hung a you-ie and went back! The food was AWESOME! Hubby got the ribeye which was a special. And I got the chicken fried chicken. REAL mashed potatoes with the skins on and chunky! The service was perfect. Very attentive and friendly. The Tennessee football game was going on and it wasn't too rowdy or crazy! Just a great time! Cute atmosphere and clean. We'll be back!! read more

They have the right to refuse service & they will, for no reason other than they're having a party & you're not invited I was recommended this place by a family friend of the owners, so i figured id give it a try. Firstly there was No website to place online orders, couldn't find it on doordash/uber eats, so i spent an hour looking through photos of their menu (because i didn't want to bring my autistic children into a loud bar) gathering my familys orders. Had a $200 order with a $80 tip prepared (even though we weren't dining in) but i figured they were buisy & ive worked service. So i go to call in my order with list in hand. & i get what sounds like drunk trailerpark barbie on the phone, screaming into it about how she can't hear, and when im finally able to get her to understand me, she proclaims "we aren't taking carry out orders right now because we're buisy" i said, you don't do carry out orders & she says "only when we're really buisy" what the hell? Then she brags about how "there's not even anywhere to sit" so then i asked if i could make reservations. "We don't take reservations" okay.. how do i eat there then? They're refusing service. Its not really a great vybe to deny service to paying customers because a bunch of drunk rednecks got their income tax back. I don't care if you're buisy.. how about a "it's going to be a long wait, we're really buisy" but nooo, straight up refused service? I am beyond offended & perplexed. read more

Who would've known this hidden gem was right off the main highway in this little TN town? Not only is the food outstanding, but the ambiance is pretty cool. There's a bar with karaoke on Friday nights I believe. Plus they have live music outside during warm weather months. Very tastefully decorated and laid out. I had the best wings I've ever tasted. My buddy had the mother clucker chicken sandwich. Oh and the jalapeño poppers were poppin! Gonna have to come back here again! read more

We had such a lovely time tonight! Caydence is a sweet and amazing server. So knowledgeable about the food and drinks. She I also gave such beautiful details about the area of Smithville. Highly recommend checking this place out. Family oriented and fun! The ribeye was exceptional and Caydence recommended it. Thank you for a great evening y'all. read more

Been here twice and it's ok. The food isn't terrible but I have not found anything that screams "let's go eat there". Last time we ate there we actually needed to move tables because the one seated behind us was so loud we couldn't hear anyone at our table. The area we were seated in was long and narrow plus they have metal roof panels on the wall so all the noise just bounces around in there. The people were not overly loud the room was. Service is fine. Not especially attentive but you won't die of thirst. Food is reasonably priced and portions are fine. The whole place is a "fine" on the experience level. Parking lot is always full but I'm guessing it's because they also have a bar and live music. Can't review that, we didn't stay for drinks and music. I guess if you are looking for a place to go just so you can leave the house and not drive to Nashville...it's fine. read more

First I would love to highlight our service. Chelsea was the most wonderful and attentive waitress I have ever had. She lights up a room and creates such an inviting and warm atmosphere! She was funny and genuine. Me and my family were so impressed and grateful. Second, the food was delicious and the portions were perfect! I definitely recommend getting a dessert as that was phenomenal and homemade! If you're having second thoughts about coming here, don't. It was very well worth it! -Jacklyn Dickey read more

I have gone to Twisted Oaks a few times for food and drinks now. Twice for food and twice for just drinks. Every time I have been there the service has been amazing, even when they are super busy. The staff has been friendly, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to make sure your experience is enjoyable. A few friends of mine chose to meet there after a dog show to celebrate a nice win. There were 3 tickets in our party. First ticket was the Fried Pickles, Bang Bang Shrimp and 2 Margaritas. The person said the amount of food was perfect for them. At first they thought that there was not going to be enough but said that they were full. Second ticket was the Bourbon Glazed Salmon with Mashed Potatoes with Cheese, Dr. Pepper, Rattlesnake Pasta, Steak Fries, Pepsi, Carrot Cake. The 2 people on this ticket said that their food has a really good flavor and the perfect portion. The third ticket was mine. I ordered the Barbecue Mac & Cheese and unfortunately they were out of it, so my second choice was the Rattlesnake Pasta and Sweet Tea. Great flavor of the Andouille type sausage paired with the Cajun seasoning of the sauce. I wiped the pasta bowl clean with the garlic bread. It was a wonderful combination of a great meal shared with friends and I highly recommend stopping by. read more

Pretty darn good place in the middle of nowhere Tennessee. Was staying in an Air B&B on the lake and looking for a good meal without a long drive. Low and behold Twisted Oak popped up on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxed. The food is typical "bar food" with a few twists. The wing sauces are unique and special drinks are pretty good. We started our order with a giant pretzel & beer cheese, good but not great. The beer cheese was a little runny. Dinner order was: 1) Ribeye steak, medium well. It came out medium rare and had to go back for some time on the grill. 2) Ruben with tater tots. It was prepared well but I'm not sure it was corned beef. Tasted more like roast beef. But the marble rye was good and it had the right amount of kraut and dressing. 3) traditional wings, half with jale-mango sauce half with sweet & spicy. These seemed to be the winner. Our daughter loved them. 4) Twisted burger which was a standard cheeseburger with all the fixings. Son said it was good. The real star of the show was Chelsea our waitress. She was maybe the best waitress I've ever had. Sweet and friendly with a bright sense of humor. She was attentive without being annoying and joy to interact with. Oh and according to our daughter she smells good too. read more

After seeing this on the TV show, "TN Crossroads", I wanted to go. Have gone to school in Flint, Michigan, I was very curious that they had "Flint Coney Hot Dogs" That really got me fired up. I tried once to find it, but had bad information. Finally I got to walk in. First disappointment - No Coneys. Even though the website listed them, the new printed menus did not have them Second disappointment - Waiting too long to get a simple food order taken. There were many servers, out numbering the customers. They just kept walking back and forth or socializing. Familiar customers got great attention. My friend and I were ignored. When I told the server we were leaving and why, she did not seem to care and offered no apology. read more

Twisted Oaks Saloon is the neighborhood bar you wish you had since it's not quite in anyone's neighborhood. Walking in, you would think you're in a mountain lodge or a saloon in the backwoods country. The decor is fun and the saloon is quite big as is the outdoor patio and bonfire area. The staff are friendly as are the patrons. One person I met here mentioned that Maggie's (the same place but under different ownership) was not really the sort of place you wanted to hang out, but this is definitely not the case with Twisted Oaks Saloon. We came here on a weeknight and sat outside in the chairs by the bonfire after order some local Sparta, TN beers from the Calfkiller Brewing Co., which were good. The saloon owner was among those hanging out there and he was friendly and even asked us what we would like to see from them as a new bar/restaurant and what types of activities or things would attract us to hang out there. That was a good sign that the owner seemed family-oriented as well as he said his daughters all work at the bar so he expects everyone to be friendly and respectful in the bar. It seems that he may have some work to do changing the stereotypes of the old bar that was here, but I think they are on the right path. Our friend commented that the food is good here but I have yet to try it. We plan on coming back here as we had a good time! Try them out if you are in the area. read more

We were in the area for a few days staying at the lake. We went on Saturday night at 6:15. They were supposed to have a 70s-80s party on the patio starting at 6:30. $5 cover/person. We opted to sit inside to avoid the charge. Before we got our table, they came out and said the cover had been waived if we wanted to sit outside. We said we did. The outside area was huge. They had a covered stage, some nice wooden tables with umbrellas. We got seated at extra tables that had been set up just for the party. It took a little while to get our server's attention, and quite awhile for our first round of drinks to come out, but other than that the service was great. Food was brought out timely by table runners. We had chips/salsa and mozzarella sticks for apps. The chips were pretty skimpy in volume we thought. There were 5 of us and our entrees were all really good. We had salmon, Cobb salad, chicken sandwich, black bean burger, and bourbon barbecue wings. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. This appeared to definitely be a spot that many locals go to. Great atmosphere and friendly place. I'd definitely recommend trying this place if you haven't been read more

If ya want a long wait for your order & small meal Portions this is the place for you....we have tried two times now and it's the same - horrible wait time - over 50 minuets for meal - on a Thursday night ? Meal portions are so small - yet your bill is not small. I would pass on this one read more

Absolutely nothing! This was our first time here and we just moved to Sparta from Franklin and have been looking to support the local community. We were looking forward to enjoying this restaurant and we were treated horribly by the manager today. We ordered a beer and it tasted skunky so we didn't drink it. We were told that we still had to pay for it even though we didn't drink but one sip from it!! We then spoke to the manager and she said that "we had a bad attitude". WHAT?!? We just asked for a $5 beer taken off the bill! I will NEVER step foot in here again and we will pass this along to others. Oh, after posting a review on the Facebook page she proceeded to argue with me and call me a bully. This by far has to be the WORST experience ever!! Would easily have been a 5 Star review for food and atmosphere. Lowered to 4 BC like so many others, finding help continues to be a challenge for employers in this industry. Great variety of food to select from. Service is always amazing and food is always good. Jalapeño mango wings are the best !

This is one of the surprises of rural Tennessee. It's quite good. They have a great menu of up. Foods... sandwiches, burgers, wings, cocktails. We ended up staying for a while waiting for a tow truck after breaking down nearby. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Nashville hot wings, while not authentic to a Nashville hot style were tasty and had a nice blend of heat and sweet. The cocktails were very good - I asked the bartender to make my personal margarita recipe instead of the menu recipe, and it was perfect. The house mojito was very good as well. read more
